Max walked into the Entrance Hall, dropping his trunk behind him. "Stupid James," he muttered to himself. Some house elves scuttled up to him, scolding him for the cigarettes in his pocket and his 'untidy' scruffiness. He fixed them all with a very annoyed look, and they took his trunk and ran. He chuckled and just stood there, happy to be back.

Annie walked through the the entrance hall not paying attention to her surrenderings. She was glad to be back at Hogwarts. She let out a sigh and kept walking until she bashed in to someone and fell to the ground. She groaned and looked up at the person, she gasped when she noticed who it was, "Max?" she asked squinting forgetting she was on the ground, she was just surprised he was here.

Max groaned as someone bashed into him, trying to catch the person as they fell. He heard his name, and really looked at the girl on the floor. "Hey Annie," he said, leaning down to pick her up. "How are you babe?" He gave her a grin, pushing his hand into his pocket to hide the packet of cigarettes. He had a feeling they wouldn't be entirely accepted here.

Annie looked up at Max again then back down at herself. She jumped up quickly and rubbed her lower back. "Hey" she said grinning back at him, "I'm good. What about you?" she asked looking as his hand moved to his pocket like he was hiding something, she decided not to ask him anything about it and looked back up at his face.

Max smiled. "Yeah. I've been okay. Heaps better now I'm back," he said, shrugging his shoulders. He took his hand out of his pocket to give her a hug, and the cigerettes followed it out, spilling onto the floor. "f**k," he muttered, bending over and picking them all up. He smiled at her sheepishly, stuffing them back into their box, and back into his pocket. "So, what have I missed?" he said, leaning in and giving her a quick hug.

Annie smiled back at Max. She gasped when cigerettes fell from his pocket, he swore as well? he seemed to have changed. She watched him stuff them away, "since when did you start smoking?" she asked raising an eyebrow, crossing her arms across her chest. "You've missed... a lot" she said returning the hug before walking over to a bench and sitting down, if he really wanted to know, she would have to give him the short version.

Max smiled sheepishly as she crossed her arms over her chest. She was so cute like that. "Aww come on Annie. Don't be like that." He shrugged his shoulders. "A lot! Wow. I was't gone that long was I?" he said, trying to make a joke of the situation. He'd really f**ked this up. Already. He followed her to the bench and sat down beside her. "So, tell me. What's been happening?"

Annie sighed and shook her head, "Max. Smoking is a disgusting habit and you kind of smell like smoke" she said cringing with her arms still crossed. "You were gone that long" she stated brushing a speck of dust off her shirt. "Umm. Where to start? Kildara got pregnant, Kelly killed the baby. Danika and Kelly broke up... obviously. A lot of new girls and guys came this term. Kildara fell for a new guy named Caeleb and break it off with James. Sam and Bella are engaged. Gaby's pregnant at 15 and engaged to Tobia. Umm... I think there's more but I cant remember" she said with a shrug, wondering if he knew about James and Kildara. He should have.

"Yeah I know. Don't you think I've already been told that!" Max groaned. "Get on with your story." He was sick of people telling him it was gross. It was easier said than done to quit. "Dad told me Kildara had lost the baby, but ... Kelly killed it! What a b***h!" he exclaimed. The news that Danika and Kelly had broken up made him feel a little smug. He'd told her it wouldn't work. His ears pricked up at the mention of new girls. Might be a bit of fun. His eyebrows raised as Annie mentioned Kildara. "Yeah I knew Dara and James had broken up. It was bound to happen. Dad wanted devotion Dara couldn't give. Oh well. She's with Caeleb? Eww. He's got my prefect badge on his robes now. Dirty man-whore," he muttered darkly. That was gross. He thought dara had taste. "Bella and Sam are engaged! Wow. I'll have to go see them. And Gabbie and Tobias. Wow. Love is going round this school like a disease," he chuckled. "You found anyone yet, kiddo?" he said, nudging her with his elbow softly, grinning at her.

Annie sighed, "whatever. No matter how many times people have told you, It's still gross" she muttered. Jeez someone was grumpy. She listened to his comments during her story. She chuckled softly as he nudged her and shook her head, "if I had would I be here talking to a loser like you?" she joked, raising an eyebrow. She obviously hadn't. The only person she thought as cute was him, not like she could say that out loud.

Annie smiled. "uncalled for? really? maybe if you didn't smoke I wouldn't call you a loser" she hinted with a smile. Her smile widened a little when he called her good looking and blushed slightly, normally she wouldn't be blushing but she couldn't help it. "Well believe it. It's true" she stated.

Max waived off her comment about him smoking making him a loser, smiling as he saw her blush. He reached a hand up to feel the heat in her cheeks. "You know, you're really cute when you blush," he said softly, his fingers still on her cheek. None of his old predatorial edge brushed his features. He was simply stating a fact.

Annie smiled sheepishly up at him. When she felt his hand on her cheek, sighed softly then mentally kicked herself for doing so. "Thanks" she said softly and felt her cheeks heat up a bit more. One second he was swearing about all the stuff that happened when he was gone now he was being all nice. It was confusing.
