Krysta was used to getting strange looks, but today she'd had more than her fair share. It was understandable. She supposed the Azkaban staff weren't really accustomed to seeing pregnant women walking around in their Prison. The really amusing part was watching the Dementors shy away from her as though terrified to death of her. For her self esteem she would have liked to think that it was due to her reputation, but she knew it was really due to the pure little life growing inside her. Dementors couldn't handle the innocent.
She had found the guard who demanded she hand over her wand rather tiresome. He'd searched her five times before actually conceding that she was telling the truth when she'd claimed to not even be carrying a wand. After all; "What self-respecting witch went anywhere without a wand?". He had a point she supposed. One of the flabbergasted guards even pulled her chair out for her, although his uncomfortable awkwardness suggested this was not something he did for other visitors. "It's amazing how people treat you differently when you're pregnant." she mused to herself. The chair was deeply uncomfortable, but she could endure it. After all she'd endured much worse...

Hearing she had a visitor shocked Ceallach. Who, in their right mind, would come and visit HER. She had no friends left in the world, anyone that she may have stayed relatively close with were in this god-awful place. Striding down the corridor, with a guard on each side, one in front of her, and one behind her, no room for escape, she made her way to the visitor's room.
Once inside, she was seated in a chair, and strapped in. The guards left her view, and her mouth opened in shock at who her visitor was. Krysta... pregnant Krysta!
"You... I - I wouldn't have though.. you of all people would come and see me..." she said, unable to keep the surprise fom her voice. "You - You're pregnant..."

When Ceal was brought in Krysta had to throw up every defense her mind could muster just to hide the explosion of emotions. Her initial response was dismay to see her former friend in such a state. She was thin, pale and gaunt. The sight of her in such ragged clothing meant Krysta had to double take to be sure it was really her. The formerly well-dressed and groomed girl was now filthy and unkempt. It was a shock. But then the feelings of betrayal, pain and frustration flooded back and Krysta had to conceal the bitterness. She steadied herself as Ceal spoke. Her seemingly innocent shock was expected, but for a moment all Krys wanted to do was grab her, shake and scream at her: "Why? How could you do this? After everything?!"
But she held her countenance and slowly the fury subsided. Her hand fell to her belly, gently touching the bump that housed the tiny child within her. It still seemed kind of strange that there was a life inside. She felt the life touch back at her and suddenly she saw the funny side of Ceallach's outburst. She stared down at her belly with a look of pure shock, her mouth hanging open and placed both hands on her bump as though she'd only just noticed it. "Oh my God! How did that happen?!" she cried in false horror. Then she dropped her hands and looked up at Ceal through her dark eyelashes with a slightly mischievous smile.

Ceallach let out a hoarse laugh as Krysta spoke. Still the same old Krysta. She hadn't changed. Well, she had, a bit. She was going to be a mum... something Ceallach, stuck in here for the rest of her life, would never get to experience. Not that she'd ever really considered it, but seeing one of her friends like that made her ache a little.
"Are you happy? Excited?"

Krysta's smile became strained slightly. "Happy. Excited. Terrified." she confirmed. Ceallach couldn't possibly know how terrified she'd been. Knowing that both she and her child could have died during that battle...she resisted the shiver at the memory. "I can't help feeling this is a strange world to bring a child into." she confessed soberly, the smile leaving her face. "Which...I suppose is what brings me here." she added, looking Ceallach in the face for the first time.

At Krysta's next words, Ceal becamed curious. "What exactly was it that bought you here? Business... this is far from a friendly visit isn't it."

Krys's face screwed up into an uncomfortable expression. "Not exactly. I wanted to see you. No, I think I needed to see you. We left a lot unsaid. I wanted us both to have some closure before...before I left." She explained with a slight hesitation. She broke eye contact with Ceal and stared hard at the table. She wasn't even sure if Ceal would care of course. She might be happy to see her go for all she knew. But part of her wanted to believe that would mean something, that part of the girl she once knew was still in there.

The only visitor I've had in the time I'd been here, and probably for the rest of my life. You're leaving?" Trying to regain herself, pulling herself away from the slight hysteria that had seemed to enter her tone. "Of course... I don't really deserve having you around... "

"No, you don't." Krys replied quickly before she could stop herself. She released a short, sharp breath and looked at Ceal steadily. "As I said, this is a strange world to bring a child into. There's too much bad history here...at Hogwarts." she paused for a moment with a painful frown. "I can't stay here. WE can't stay here. Sebastian never wanted to be in England in the first place and now...there's just no reason to stay." she explained, though she felt she wasn't putting it very well. "Most of my friends are dead." she said bluntly, but not accusingly. "Simon's still here, but..." she broke off shaking her head. There was another reason she wanted to leave, but she wasn't sure whether she trusted Ceal enough for that.

"Thanks for the vote of confidence, Krys," Ceallach muttered, shaking her head. But, as Krysta continued on, the former Death Eater looked up at her old friend. "Hey, don't look at me. I didn't kill any of them... they were my friends too." She was telling the truth. The only one of the Hogwarts students she'd killed was Megan... and really that was more a thing because she really didn't like her very much. She had refused to kill any of her friends. "But what, Krys... Am I so horrible to me that you can't even talk to me anymore?"

Krysta raised an eyebrow. "You may not have killed them yourself, but you did nothing to stop it. But for what it's worth, I'm grateful you didn't kill me. You had the opportunity." she confessed. She shook her head for a moment. "I don't know if I can trust you." she admitted. "I can't read you anymore than you can read me. I think that's one of the reasons we always got on. But if it helps it's not you I'm worried about. Not every Death Eater who survived is locked up and cosy in Azkaban. It's the the ones still out there that concern me." she explained in a more serious tone. "One in particular in fact." she added, looking at Ceal with pursed lips and a frown. "You can probably take a guess."

Ceallach let out a cold, but raspy laugh. "You think this cosy? You try sleeping in a room that's hardly tall enough for you to stand in... and sleep on a floor that's made of rock, that's uneven. Try having every single f**king prisoner in here in your head. Even for those a lot better off than me... this is not cosy... " She knew Krysta didn't actually mean comfortable, but Ceal's brain didn't exactly work as well as it used to.
"Yeah, I know who you mean. No one knows where he is?" she asked. Despite everyone hating him, Ceallach had shared a sort of mutual respect with Caeleb. But, the thought of him, out there, free-ish... kind of annoyed her. Though, no one had had it just as bad as he had. He'd lost the love of his life.

Being in this place was obviously affecting Ceal's sense of humour. Krysta's "cosy" comment hadn't gone down well. She barely raised an eyebrow, though. It wasn't worth arguing that the conditions in Azkaban were like they were for a reason. But it was easy for her say. She wasn't living in them. For Ceal this truly was torture. She was a woman of refinement. This place was hell for her.
As Ceallach acknowledged Caeleb as the subject matter Krysta's body language stiffened as she became more serious. To her surprise she caught a hint of bitterness from Ceal that startled her. "You're letting your guard down, dear." she told her in a slightly Motherly tone. "I felt that." she informed her with a serious expression.
She paused and glanced sideways at the guards. What she had to say couldn't be overheard. She took a deep breath and reached out to Ceal's mind with her own. "Ceal, can you hear me. Don't react, else they'll suspect something. Tuck your hair behind your ear if you can hear me." she ordered.

Hard to keep it up when you're as tired as I am," Ceallach murmured with a slight shrug of her shoulders. Feeling that annoying irritation, like someone latching onto her brain, her eyes narrowed slightly in Krysta's direction. Hearing the other woman's voice in her head, she sighed, and did exactly what she ws told, though it was a little hard with her arms strapped to the chair. SHe bent her head slightly, bringing up her hand as far as she could. She scratched her cheek a little to make it look as though her hair was annoying her, then tucked a lock behind her ear.
