Arithmancy Lesson Three

Kildara walked into the classroom, flicking her hand out and lighting the lamps and putting all the tables back to where the were supposed to be. She sighed, putting all the papers she had in her arms on her desk. she put a single piece of paper separately, the one piece of homework she had received. Her class was not going to like her today! She pulled herself up onto her desk, sitting with her legs elegantly crossed one over the other, waiting for her class to arrive.

Bella slowly walked into the classroom. The potion had definitely worked, but there was no way she could handle a full Kildara onslaught today. Heck her mental blocks were so weak even a novice could use Legillimency on her. She was going to curse Sam to hell and back for making her come to class later.
Without even a word to the professor she sat down at her desk and got her stuff out, allowing her ring to glisten in the lights.

Angel smiled as she walked into the classroom. She had only just switched subjects and hadn't known about the homework. Seeing Bella she smiled sympathetically, knowing the girl had been sick the night before. Coming to class with a hangover was not the best thing when Kildara was first lesson. "Good morning Professor," she said sweetly as she took her seat.

Chris walked into the room. "Good morning, Professor," he said. Professor Snape looked pretty grim, so he slunk to a seat near the back. Maybe his essay had been really bad. He just hoped he wouldn't get into too much trouble.

As he passed Bella, he smiled at her. "Hi Bella. Did you have a good holiday?" he asked her. He noticed something sparkling on her hand, and looked puzzled for a minute. Wasn't that her ring finger? Did that mean she was... "Bella! Are you getting married?" At school??? Chris had never heard of anyone getting married while they were still at school.

Kelly dragged herself to the classroom. She hadn't done her homework, but she didn't care. She sat to the furthest corner of the class, keeping her eyes strictly on Kildara.

[Aidan Fischer]

Aidan strolled into the room. After his huge breakfast, he was feeling pretty good. "Morning, Professor," he said as he passed. She didn't look happy, but from what he'd heard, no-one had done their homework, so it looked like being an interesting class. There were a few students in the room already, Bella, and a First Year he didn't know, and...

"Angel! Thanks for helping me and Zach make it back to school in one piece," he said. He stopped by her desk. "Do you mind if I sit beside you? Or are you saving the place for someone?"

"Chris!" Bella exclaimed as the first year stopped by her desk. She had to admit, she had a soft spot for the boy in her heart, even if he had put a spider on her first term. "My holidays were fantastic thanks. How were yours? Did you have enough stuff to tell your brother about Hogwarts?" she asked. She blushed as Chris noticed the ring and her eyes flitted to Kildara quickly to see how she reacted. "Yes I'm getting married. To Sam, the Quidditch Captain. I'm not sure when yet though, right now it's just an engagement. But we'll definitely get married someday."

"Wow. That's really nice. Umm - congratulations." He was pretty sure that was what he was supposed to say. He glanced at the Professor at the front of the room. In a low voice, he said, "Why do you think Professor Snape looks so cross?"

"Aidan!" Angel said happily. She knew Aidan was taking Arithmancy and not Zach, apparently Zach's forte was potions. "You're welcome. You guys have to learn sometime if you plan on showing that Durmstrang boys aren't weaklings." She laughed and took out her stuff shaking her head, causing her blonde curls to come loose from her clip. "Of course I don't mind. At least this way, neither of us will get yelled at," she said removing the clip as she twisted her hair back up and then placing it back in. "So why exactly aren't you hung over this morning?" she asked interested. She had seen him last night and he had seemed out of it.

"You don't have to say 'congratulations' Chris if you're not really happy," Bella said with a laugh. It was sweet of him though. "Thank you though. I'm going to be really happy and I'm going to see if I can have it here, so everyone can come!" She rolled her eyes and then lowered her voice as well. "Apparently not many people have done their homework, therefore she's really really mad. There was a warning on the annoucement that we were in for a major telling off if we hadn't done it."

Tyson walked into the classroom, smiling and still holding Danika's hand. He offered Danika a seat in the front row, and sat down next to her "Good morning, professor Snape." He sent her a glowing smile.

[Danika Peverell]

Danika walked into the classroom behind Tyson, still holding his hand, and still smiling. She smiled and sat down in the seat he offered her and watched him sit down. She was trying very hard not to laugh at the moment. She smiled happily up at Kildara. "Morning Professor," she said cheerily.

Aidan grinned, sitting down. "Yeah, I heard that a lot of people didn't do the homework. I'm guessing you did yours, if you're not expecting to get yelled at. Or are you only just starting the class?" He watched, slightly mesmerised, as she shook her hair loose, then pinned it back up. He laughed at her next question. "I guess you could call it compensation. If I get sick from drinking, I don't have a hangover the next day. Or maybe it was the huge jug of water that Zach made me drink when he got me back to our dormitory. Anyway, I feel pretty good today. I probably look a lot better than I did last night," he added with a grin.

Kildara's eyes turned on Bella as she walked in. She inclined her head slightly. Bella must have been one of the ones that went out the night before. She saw something on Bella's finger glint in the light. Dara's eyes flashed. What was this? Show Kildara she's stupid week?!

Kildara's face softened slightly as Angel walked into the class. "Good Morning Angel," she said politely.

As Chris walked in, Kildara's face half lit up. "Good Morning Chris," she said, smiling at him softly. At least someone made an effort.

Kildara smiled as Aidan walked in. "Morning Aidan," she said. She felt sorry for him. First class, and he was going to be put through the same things.

Kildara gave the next two a questioning look. Danika and Tyson, walking in together. Holding hands. She shrugged it off and smiled at them both. "Morning Tyson. Danika."

"I am happy for you, it's really nice. Wow, that would be so cool if you actually got married at Hogwarts." When he heard her explanation, Chris looked surprised. "Oh! I didn't see the announcement, I just knew about the class from my timetable. But - well, I did the homework. So maybe I'm okay. I thought I might have done it really badly or something." Chris grinned with relief, and began to take his books out of his schoolbag.
