Aidan felt a bit disconcerted. Most people couldn't tell them apart at first, but apparently Jennifer could. He saw her looking at him closely, and he was suddenly aware of something on his chin. He rubbed it, and discovered that he'd had a smear of egg on his chin. Real smooth, he thought. He seemed to be making all the wrong impressions on the girls now he was actually at Hogwarts. Oh well, he'd just have to work harder to get back into her good books. He smiled at her. "I'll try to follow Zach's example," he promised. Jennifer had to hold herself back from laughing as he wiped the egg off his chin. "It's okay. I was just a little shocked by your lack of table manners, that's all. I'm sure a lovely person," she said, her smile widening as she tried desperately not to laugh.

She was laughing at him, though she was trying not to show it. Aidan felt unaccountably awkward. It was one thing to have Zach smack his head, but to be ticked off for bad manners by a beautiful girl was humiliating. He mumbled something unintelligible, and decided to kill some time by writing out his arithmancy numbers. It was always useful to have them on hand for reference, and of course he had brand new notebooks this term.
Without thinking, he wrote out his full name across the top of a page: Aidan Dante Charlemagne Fischer. Normally he was more careful about who got to see his full name.

Jennifer stopped laughing abruptly. She felt bad now. "I'm sorry," she said softly, giving him an apologetic smile. She's such an idiot! Lovely way to make friends Jennifer! Tell them what you don't like about them! She caught him writing out of the coner of her eye. She chanced a look. She smiled. He had a nice name. "Nice name," she said softly, no trace of sarcasm at all. She was being completely truthful. She wished her name was exciting like that.

Sam sighed, beginning to write the essay. How frigging boring. "Great' Because having a dead fiancee would have been so useful to me," he said, trying not to laugh. He made sure he kept his head down, doing his work. He didn't want another reason for Dara to be angry at him. Bella stiffled a laugh as she finished the essay and signed her name. She had started it, just never got round to finishing it. "Well you're in luck, your fiancee's still alive," she whispered with a small smile. Sitting back in her chair, she waited to see how everyone else was doing. Her head was beginning to feel better and she knew that by the end of the lesson it should be fine.

He polished off his essay, in record time for him, and signed his name at the bottom of it. He sighed and relaxed back into his chair a little, and smiled at Bella. He'd felt so bad last night when she'd got back. He was going to make it up to her later.

"Yeah, Bella does look a bit worse for wear this morning." He returned her smile, as she said he looked better. "Thanks. And I'm sure the fact that I'm not throwing up is an improvement too!"
Angel laughed and then shrugged her shoulders. "It's definitely an improvement. You look better when you're not vomiting." She blushed realising what she had said and wondered whether he'd take it the same way she had meant it. She quickly turned her attention to her arithmancy book glancing over the pages that she had missed last term.

She could tell from the conversation that Aidan was having with one of the other students, that something had happened at the Ravenclaw table that was slightly embarrassing. Looking at him, she noticed his name at the top of the page. "She's right, it is a really nice name," she remarked. She hated her middle name, it was really blunt.

"My brother keeps telling me I should use a trough instead of a plate." He grinned at the mental image of himself sitting at the Ravenclaw table with his head in a trough. Angel laughed and then shrugged her shoulders. "It's definitely an improvement. You look better when you're not vomiting." "Thank you. I don't think vomiting is a good look on anyone!"
Now it was his turn to blush, as both girls complimented his middle names. At Durmstrang he'd been mocked for the elaborate name his parents had wished on him. But the girls really seemed to like it. "Thanks," he said, nodding at each of them in turn. "Bit of a mouthful, though." He began to fill in the numbers so he could write out his Destiny Number.

At least it would give you an excuse for bad manners," she said, hoping that he took it as the joke she meant it as. Angel laughed and then shrugged her shoulders. "It's definitely an improvement. Angel smiled seeing him blush, it was really sweet. She never saw guys blush, well Zach may have blushed last night, but that was for a reason. It had been nice though. "Hey it's a lot better than Angelina Joan," she stated telling him her middle name. "Anyways, it suits you."
Jen looked over at the other girl sitting on Aidan's other side. She smiled at her. "I'm Jennifer King," she said, extending her hand behind Aidan's back, for the other girl to shake.
"Nice to meet you," Angel said shaking the hand that Jennifer had extended. "I'm Angelina Newell but nearly everyone calls me Angel." She knew that Nathan preferred to call her Angelina and she didn't mind at all. "Is this your first day at Hogwarts?" she asked. It would explain why she didn't have to do the essay either.

"Yeah, I transfered from Beauxbatons," she smiled. Happy now?! I'm making friends!

She had never liked her whole name and when her family said it she disliked it even more. "Your name is really pretty though," she told Jennifer. "Question though, do you prefer being called Jennifer or Jenny?" She had a cousin called Jennifer that would only answer to Jenny, so she thought she'd better ask before she made a mistake. "Oh wow, Beauxbatons is meant to be really pretty. Welcome to Hogwarts though, hopefully you'll get used to the changes."

She smiled and under the desk took his hand in hers entwining their fingers. "Sorry I was a mess last night," she whispered meaning every word. She hadn't meant to get that drunk and she hadn't meant for him to see her like that either.

My first breakfast was a bit of a shock. With this one, and his bad table manners," she laughed, jerking her head in Aidan's direction.

"Eh, he has his good assests as well," she said thinking of his looks and his personality. "The girls have better manners than the boys though. Everyone knows that." She laughed and then patted Aidan's shoulder, "But the boys are gentlemen when they want to be."

Tyson listened silently as Kildara spoke. She really was in a bad mood. He didn't ponder about it for long though. Instead he grinned at Danika "Have fun writing the essay". He threw his feet on the table and listened how people around him started talking. Nothing interesting though. He glanced at the back of the classroom and saw Kelly. He sneered her, as he put his hand on Danika's knee and mouthed the words She's mine
