Nathalie was puzzled. "Umm - sure. But what does it have to do with... oh!" She made the connection. She flushed. She'd once (and only once) caught a glimpse of a design burned into her father's left forearm. But she'd thought that was all over now. "I won't tell," she said in a low voice. "My family, umm, has friends who are - well - the same."

Raven rolled her sleeve up to show Natalie her dark mark. "The only other people that know I'm a Death Eater are Kildara and the other Death Eaters that are at the school" She said, still in a low voice. "I'll tell you something, this is ink inside my skin which makes this mark".

The headmistress was a Death Eater?! Nathalie wasn't sure what to think. Her father might be - or at least, had been a Death Eater, Nat wasn't sure if he still was, but it came as a shock that Professor Snape would be. That was the problem with having the kind of upbringing she'd had, plus spending most of her time studying, there was a lot of stuff she didn't know about. She looked closer at the mark on Raven's arm. "Like a tattoo, you mean?" She had, at least, heard of tattoos.

"Basically its a tattoo, only everyone gets the same one. Now listen Nat, you cannot go around telling anyone what I've told you. I trust you to keep it a secret, if you don't..well, let's just say you won't like what's going to happen to you" She said with a smirk, rolling down her sleeve.

Nathalie swallowed and nodded. "Of course I won't tell anyone." Actually, she sort of wished she didn't know herself. "Well, um, I've got to go, I've left my essay in the common room, so I'll have to go back and get it." She went back the way she'd come, deep in thought. Nathalie knew her parents still had Death Eater sympathies, even if they weren't active any more. Though for all she knew, they could be. She didn't think she agreed with them, though. Maybe she should learn more about the Death Eaters. As her father's heir, she might be expected to follow in his footsteps, and she wanted to know what she'd be getting herself into. She changed her mind about going to the common room, and instead headed for the fourth floor, to visit the library.
