Dara's eyes were grazing the Hall, watching her students as they got into the groove of the evening. She shook her head as she watched Sam and Bella. So inappropriate all the time. Then her eyes fell on Caeleb again. She whimpered, watching him slid his arm around Nathalie. She knew Michael had his arm around her, but she didn't do it. It made her feel sick to have him voluntarily put his arm around another woman. She sighed again. Looking up at Michael, she saw him looking down at her.
"I - uh - I need to go for a walk. I'll be back," she said quickly, breaking free of him. She sighed, smoothing her dress, before walking over to Caeleb and Nathalie. She cleared her throat. "I'm sorry Miss Desjardins, can I borrow Mr Dracus for a moment? I need to discuss something with him," she said, in her usual Headmistress voice, giving them both a smile. Underneath it all, she was slowly killing herself. Being this close, and not being able to do anything.

Caeleb turned smoothly to look at Dara when she addressed Nathalie. When she requested his presence he smiled warmly at Nat.
"What did I tell you?" he asked with a grin. "I'm sorry. This shouldn't take long." he said, touching her arm softly before accompanying Dara a few feet away and out of earshot. When certain no one could hear them he spoke.
"Already, Dara? I've only been here 5 minutes." he scalded cooly, keeping his facial expression neutral.

Kit slipped into the Ballrom unnoticed, as was everything she'd been doing recently. Her Apparation class was unbelievably small. It was becoming appaant that not many people of age hadn't already passed their test. She'd seen nothing of Simon since he'd been seeing Liz and Krysta was practically a stranger these days. The only company she'd had was James, and she hadn't seen him for a few weeks now. Shame. That have been one hell of a night. She looked around the room and was shocked to catch sight of him. She was sue it was him, even with that mask on. She'd recognise his a*se anywhere.
She grinned and smoothed her dress over her curves. She walked up behind him and discreetly squeezed his a*se.
"Hello stranger." she murmured in his ear.

Kildara gave Nathalie an apologetic smile, like she was truly sorry to be stealing her date away for something as tedious as 'prefect duties'. She sighed, walking away. "Come in here," she said, stepping into a secluded hollow. "I actually just wanted to explain, to be honest. I realised I didn't tell you I was bringing someone too. His name is Michael. I didn't have time to ask you about it. I sort of decided yesterday. He's like the brother I never had," she explained. "You look dashing by the way," she said softly. She was trying not to lunge at him. She only was stopping herself because he looked annoyed at her for taking him away so soon.

James had led Kaiia into the Hall, and sat her at a table so he could go get drinks. He was getting two glasses of the punch, when he jumped as someone squeezed his ass. He smiled as he heard a familiar voice in his ear. Turning slightly so he could see her, he looked her up and down appreciatively. "Well hello," he said, giving her one of his half smiles. "How have you been?" he asked.

Caeleb listened to her, trying to keep a blank, serious face for the benefit of anyone who may be watching them. But when she explained who Michael was his eyes softened. He couldn't help looking down bashfully as she complimented him.
"You look stunning, Dara." he said sincerely. It was hard being this close to her when she looked the way she did. She was like something out of a fairytale. She was too beautiful to be of this earth.
"Don't worry about it. We do have appearances to keep up. Try not to worry about Nathalie. Its all for show. She's a nice kid, though. I don't want her to be hurt. Ok?" he asked sternly.

Max smiled as Annie rested her head on his shoulder. He opened his eyes, just in time to see a very familiar figure standing by the drinks table. He took his head off Annie's. "What in the world is James doing here?" he groaned. "And why is he talking to Professor Walker? Like he knows her!"

Annie looked over at the drinks table and sighed. "Who knows" she shrugged and watched the two. She saw Professor Walker run a finger down his arm and she raised an eyebrow but didn't say anything.

Caeleb chanced a reassuring smile.
"Don't worry. You know who I belong to." he told her, wanting to hold her closely, frustrated that he coudn't. "I better go back to my date before tongues start wagging...if they haven't already." he said with a slight grin. "I'll see you later, Headmistress Snape." he said, his eyes dancing with slight mischief. "When you want to see me, tell me you need me to patrol somewhere. It'll gove me an excuse to leave for a while." he suggested. He nodded politely for effect and walked smoothly away.

Returning to Nathalie he smiled and picked up his drink from the table, swallowing some.
"I'm sorry about that Nathalie. Professor Snape will need me to patrol outside later on to ake sure people aren't sneaking off and doing things they aren't supposed to." he said with a smile, twisting the truth slightly. He and Dara woud be the ones sneaking off to do thins they weren't supposed to.
"But for now I'm all yours. Would you like to dance?" he asked.

"I would recognise those curves anywhere," James teased back. He looked down at his arm as she ran a finger up it. "Oh really. I think I can help with that," he said, shrugging. He smiled. "I've been thinking about you too," he said honestly. He thought about Kaiia for a moment. He was supposed to be getting her a drink. Hmm. This was going to be interesting.

Kit smiled, her lips pursing into a slight smirk. She ran her hands over her waist and hips.
"Hmmm...well you do know them intimately." she replied. Her smile became predatory when he said he could help her out.
"Oh I do hope so. There are other parts of me you're less accquainted with that are dying to get to know you." she told him in a low suggestive tone. She ran her hands over her a*rse, pretending to smooth out her dress. "I'd gladly introduce you if you're interested." she said.

Kildara nodded, staring up at him. "Of course," she said, when he said he should go back to Nathalie. "And you, Mr Dracus," she replied, her pale eyes draining of colour for a moment. "If you want to see me, try and catch my eye or something. Not that should be hard," she murmured. She returned his nod. Waiting for a moment, she took a few deep breaths to compose herself , before walking back to the Ball.

Returning to Michael, she wrapped her arms around his middle, that's as far as she could reach, and he pulled her to him, kissing the top of her head, reaching behind them to get her drink. "Everything ok?" he asked. "Yes. Yes, of course," she replied, giving him a smile.
"Dance?" Michael asked, leading Kildara onto the dance floor, swirling her around, her dress creating the perfect 'masquerade ball' look as it twirled around her billowing out. She laughed, Michael smiled. He hadn't seen his sister this happy in a long time.
