Please choose your seat as soon as you enter the classroom. It is covered with many paintings all around, and there's something bright behind the wall in the front. Don't peek, just wait until the Professor enters.
The board looked a bit ancient and it read:
1600s Witch Burnings and Goblin Uprisings [/b][/color]

Amelina walked into class, sullenly. Glancing up at the board she sighed. Goblins....eugh . Sitting down, she leaned back into the chair, hoping this class was even remotely interesting.

Danika walked into the classroom, taking a seat in the middle row. History of Magic really wasn't her favourite subject, but she needed the credits, so she had to endure it. And anyways, no one knew what this new teacher was like. She was curious. She heard some of the female teachers talking about him. He was causing quite a stir.

Sam walked into the class and took a seat near the front. Bella always sat at the front of classes, maybe he should give it a try. It seemed to help her take things in. He hated History of Magic, but he needed the credits. Professor Snape had told him, if he didn't do it, she'd have to take his Captaincy off him. That was something he was not going to risk.

Gabriella walked in, still gazing at the ring on her finger, her other hand on her stomach. She still couldn't believe it. She was so preoccupied, she almost tripped down the stairs, but caught herself before she went ass-over. She smiled sheepishly, then took a seat right at the front. She was curious as to what this teacher was going to be like.

Lucien walked in, a serious look on his face that changed, as he went all the way to the front, into a smile. "Good morning" he said, looking at the students, "As you know by now, I'm Professor Dalton or Professor Lucien, whatever you wish to call me" he started, "And we'll be going through the 17th century today" he stated, which was obvious, considering it was written on the board.
He stared at the board and chuckled, "It says witch burnings, but we better start with the hunt itself" he said, his eyes going to each of the faces, "When do you think the muggles started to hunt wizards?" he asked, leaning slightly on the board.

Danika had to physically hold her chin so it didn't drop. He was hot. Those other teachers weren't lying. She mentally slapped herself though. Thnak god Kelly wasn't there to see her like that. That would have been another fight. she thought to herself, turning her attention to what Professor Dalton was saying not what he looked like. She didn't pay attention in History of Magic. But she didn't have her dozing buddy. He was sitting at the front, trying to be smart. Ain't gonna happen!

Lucien noticed the girl with purple hair, he wasn't sure if she understood the question. He looked at her as he spoke, "Sorry, Miss Peverell, right?" he asked, hoping to get the name right, "Do you know the answer?" he said, unwilling to repeat the question, "It's okay to take a guess, I don't bite" he teased. He never liked his Professors when he was in Hogwarts, and he decided he wasn't going to be as tough and demanding as them, only when needed.

Bella smiled as Sam sat near her, perhaps he was going to be able to concentrate a bit more. The professor looked quite nice actually and she wasn't just meaning personality either. Stop it Bella, you've already almost lost Sam once! her mind reminded her . When she heard the question she quickly wrote down Earlier 14th Century, whilst waiting to hear Danika's answer.

Danika's mind went blank. Not that she knew the answer anyways, but the missing answer, buried itself further, so it was irretrievable in her blank memory. Surely he could be classed as a distraction. Surely .... Danika sighed and took a deep breath, trying not to make eye contact. "Umm - well - Muggles have been hunting Magical Folk forever. If they got a whiff of something strange, they got all scared," she said, mentally slapping herself. Smooth Peverell. Smooth. "Umm. But wasn't it around the end of the 13th Century? Maybe early 14th?" she said, rather uncertainly. Complete stab in the dark. Gosh Dani. What's wrong with you? That girl has softened you beyond recognition!

Lucien nodded, "Yes, Miss Peverell, that is correct, 3 points to Slytherin" he said, and automatically the board showed 3 points to Slytherin, it was better to keep the score written, otherwise he'll just forget.
"During the 14th Century the separation between the Muggle and the Wizarding World became very obvious. And I don't want to mention the word 'scared' but it happens to all of us when we encounter something unknown" although, he wasn't exactly scared of the unknown, he always looked at it as an opportunity.
"As the Muggles grew into Science, the unknown became unexplainable, and that wasn't something they were fond of, which is why the hunt begun." he said, and with a movement of his hand the wall behind him disappeared, it was a well lit corridor, and as you walked inside it, it held images and films of what happened. "I thought it would be best to show those times with images" Lucien stood straight and gestured the students to go in, "We'll we seeing some images of the trials, in which muggles and wizards were judged" as he waited, he asked, "There are no points in this question, but which do you think are the ones to blame for all that happened in the first place? The muggles or the wizards?"

Mel looked up. "It was equal blame. We ostrasized ourselves from their world, fearful of the consequences if they did find us, and yet the resolved to eliminate anything unknown, feared. They didn't understand, and found they were vulnerable if they didn't so began things like witch huntings because they feared the unknown and basic human instincts are survival...." She trailed off and looked at Professor Lucien defensively. "We can't show them what we have, they would eradicate us just like they've eradicated everything else. We can only co-exist with them. It's the only way" She stopped and looked carefully around the class.

Lucien nodded as Amelina started to speak, surely it was both worlds to blame. He raised an eyebrow as she said the last part, "I'm not trying to make you think otherwise" he said, and walked closer to the girl, "I believe we're doing great as it is". True. Both worlds live better separately, and they should stay that way.
Having said that, he continued to walk down the corridor, the walls showed 5 different pictures, but their subject was the same. The pictures showed a witch burning at the stake. "Now, even if it doesn't appear that way, this is the same witch in all the pictures, Wendelin the Weird" he said, leaning to the wall behind him, "How many times was she burned at the stake?" he asked, looking at the students.

Mel looked up, almost enjoying this lesson more and more. "Wasn't it like 47 or something times?" She said, playing from memory.

"Yes, 47 times, and used the flame-freezing charm as well" he said, "2 points for Gryffindor". Lucien looked at Amelina, "Of course, those were the 47 times found guilty, that should give you an idea of how muggles weren't too good recognizing magic, considering how many innocent people died" his voice was serious.
With a movement of his hand a series of pictures started to appear, many of them containing trials and others simply parts of a hunt, "During the Renaissance times, and the separation between the two worlds becoming greater, the muggles came into more scientific reasoning than anything else" he started to say, "Which is why they needed to eliminate whatever didn't go with that way of thinking" the images continued to change between huntings and burnings, "One way, of course, besides hanging and drowning, was burning at the stake, but death wasn't exactly caused by flames" Lucien stood silently for a moment, "Does anyone know what other causes may cause death when they were burned?" he asked.
