Sam and Danika looked at each other. Partners! They instinctively stood closer together. They didn't work with anyone else except each other when it came to Flying. They weren't teachers. And they both weren't patient.

For once, Chris felt a bit apprehensive as he stood beside his school broom. He'd only had a couple of sessions of flying, and though he really enjoyed it, he wasn't sure if he was ready to try and catch a ball while he was flying. Still, it looked like the rest of the students were all older, so they'd probably be able to help him at first.

Bella saw Chris and smiled, "Don't worry Chris you'll be fine. Professor Lockwood's really good at teaching. She's been doing it for ages." She knew what it was like being scared of flying, but she had been five when she had first learnt how to fly, not an eleven year old muggle who a few weeks ago wouldn't have dreamt of flying.

"No, I thought these would be more appropriate" She glanced down at her shoes and then back at Andrew. Bella seemed in ultimate turmoil. Amelina glanced longingly at Dani's broom. The school brooms looked like scrap wood compared to the gleaming firebolts - even if Professor Lockwood kept them in nick shape. She desperated wanted her broom, just to ride it again. She sighed, Professor was taking her time deciding. She smirked, the choice was going to be interesting.

Magesta looked around trying to decide how to do this without causing a riot at first. She saw Chris and smiled, "Mr. Marquez, since you're the only first year you will be partnering with me and I will teach you some basics." Looking up she counted how many people were there, "As for the rest of you...Ms. Peters and Mr. Hearn, Ms. Alibrandi and Mr. McDougall, Ms. Peverell and Ms. Athlon. Those are the pairs and I'll tell you when you are to switch. Now everyone grab your broom and go stand by your partner."
Andrew picked up his broom and smiled at Amelina, "Well this is a better circumstance than others I could have thought up." He glanced at Bella and Sam sighing.

San and Danika looked at each other, eyes wide. No, this was not good. They shrugged their shoulders. There was no way Lockwood would let them pair anyways. They showed off too much. They looked at each other one more time and turned away.
Raven! Oh dear Danika thought to herself as Lockwood told her her partner. Great this was going to work out just great. She picked up a broom and walked over to Raven, smiling awkwardly at her.
Sam's facelit up when he found out his partner. He picked up his broom and walkedover to Bella. "Well, I can think of worse partners," he laughed, running his fingers up her arm.

"Well..um..Danika, I guess we are going to have to put aside what we've been involved with earlier and just focus on the lesson" Raven said, trying to remain calm although that wasn't easy when she had to work with Dani.

Amelina returned the smile, she didn't mind, everyone she was on speaking terms with. She picked up the broom and moved towards Andrew.

Magesta walked down the lines and handed a Quaffle to each pair. "This first drill is going to be passing. Get into a single line, spaced out as evenly as possible obviously, and I want you to fly across the pitch passing the Quaffle between you." She looked over at Danika and Sam, "No fancy stuff. That is not the point of this drill. Once you get comfortable I want you to speed it up, without dropping it. If you drop it, both partners, will fly back down here and wait for the next drill."
Andrew grabbed the Quaffle as the professor walked by and smiled cheekily at Amelina, "Want to take a bet as to who drops it first, Mel?" He smirked and started laughing. Mounting his broom he kicked off from the ground and waited for Amelina to follow.

Danika and Sam looked at each other across the class. No fancy stuff. They weren't Chasers anyway.
Danika took the Quaffle and looked at Raven. "Well, here's your chance to show me what you're like as a Chaser," she said, smiling. She put the Quaffle under her arm, mounted the broom and kicked off, waiting for Raven to follow, feeling the sluggishness of the school broom.
Sam smiled and took the Quaffle. "So babe, you wanna be a Chaser? Here's your tryout," he laughed, mounting his broom and putting the Quaffle under his arm. He kicked off from the ground, frowning as the broom didn't fly like his Firebolt. It was sluggish and old.
