The "Map" Room

This is Willow and Alex's secret planning room where they work on their plans to re-create The Marauders Map. Will has decorated it in a Mediaeval style with torches on the walls and a huge open fireplace. There are comfortable sofas where they do their planning and brainstorming and a sturdy Oak table where they work on their masterpiece.The room is scattered with scrolls, quills, inks and several bottles of Willow's potions and questionable concoctions.

After hearing about the room that Will had created for their plan, Alex immediately headed to the RoR then walked into the room and stopped in her tracks at what she saw; she was absolutely astounded at the decor, it was absolutely gorgeous, she took a seat at one of the couches and looked around at the room. She waited around for her friend to show up so they could get to planning this map out, not that she thought it wouldn't take very long since this seemed like the most crazy thing she ever attempted.

Willow stumbled into the room, her arms laden with books and scrolls. She dropped several of the scrolls and they rolled across the floor to where Alex was standing.
"Ah you're already here!" exclaimed Will excitedly. "Excellent."
She dropped the books onto the work table and began picking up the scrolls. "I've got Hogwarts a History. The librarian wasn't going to let me take it out, coz it's a Reference book, but I said it was for a special project about Dumbledore. The staff always melt when you mention him." she explained with a cheeky grin. I also got some transfiguration an Charms stuff I thought might help." she added tapping the pile of books.

"Ah excellent, I'm not surprised that you could manage to get Hogwarts, a History for this plan; I'd rather not have had to research practically everything we need in the library where everyone could see what we're doing here." Alex said with a slight grin, knowing immediately that would be absolutely bad since they didn't need people snooping around while they were trying to work on this map.

"So shall we get to researching?" she asked curiously, noticing the pile of books that Will had brought with her; she wasn't one for sitting there and reading things for hours on end but she'd make an exception again this time around so that this project could get off the ground.

Will noticed the uncertain look on Alex's face when she saw all the books.
"Don't worry, I'm not trying to turn you into an historian." she grinned and dropped onto one of the sofas. "I think we should start with a brain storming session. We can't do any research until we know what we're trying to fond out, now can we?" she asked brightly.
This was going to be so awesome. Her tummy was bubbling with butterflies as she pulled out a book of bound, plain parchment.
"This is going to be our plan of action and like...journal I guess." she told Alex, selecting a nice, neat quill to begin writing notes with. She loved fresh parchment. "C'mon!" she exclaimed motioning for Alex to sit down. She was practically bouncing.

"Ah good, I think that I'd go crazy; well more so than I am already but if that does in fact happen then oh well." Alex said with a slight chuckle then sat down on the couch beside Will, she was quite excited to finally get to work seeing as if this actually worked; she'd be quite pleased to have a new version of the Maraduer's Map.

"Hmm, well there's one thing that I figure should but involved with the map, I need to know where Natasha's going to be at all times because I'd rather not run into her again after all the wounds I've suffered from her." One look at the marks on her arms and she felt a shudder roll down her spine, everytime that girl was around Alex felt the need to run and hide.

Will giggled and nodded profusely at Alex's "Crazy" comment. She wasn't going to comment herself, since she wore her craziness on her sleeve for the world to see. It was good to see Alex was as enthusiastic as she was. She wasn't used to having a partner in crime. Most people generally just smiled awkwardly and nodded at her.

"Well that's why we're doing this." she responded to the comment about Natasha. "Don't worry, when we're done you won't ever have to bump into her again if you don't want to." she said confidently, although she wasn't even sure where to start.
She pulled out one of the scrolls she'd brought and unrolled it. It was a simple map of Hogwarts.
"I guess this is a good place to start." she said looking at it thoughtfully whilst she chewed her bottom lip. "Now we have to work out how to basically make a connection between a piece of parchment and every single person that enters this castle." she said, as though it was the simplest thing in the world...she had no idea what she was doing.

As Alex began looking over the map of Hogwarts and trying to figure out how things could transfer to a new piece of parchment that could show where anyone was at a given time, she had an idea, if she could figure out a spell to be able to turn the map into an exact replica of the Marauder's Map then it would just make the whole thing a lot easier. "What if we just start with a little bit of research on charms to see if we can come up with something that could be useful to us?" It was worth a shot actually, since she didn't actually know what else to do.

Willow nodded with a slight frown, pulling a Charms book towards her. Her head was already entangled in their quandry. The book was about animal charms so she pushed it aside and picked up another.
"I feel like it's the connection bit that's going to be hard. And I don't know how we can make a copy of something we don't have." she shrugged. "I don't know maybe we're approaching it the wrong way."
She sighed and thumbed through the book.
"I wish we could ask one of the Marauders..but they're all dead." she said looking flummoxed. She suddenly giggled. "Maybe we should be looking at how to raise a ghost instead." she added and then laughed.

"You want to try to resurrect a ghost of one of the Marauders? Why..that's one of the most challenging things I've ever heard of.. I don't think that it would be any of the books you brought. I believe we have to do some research..in the Restricted Section." Alex said with a slight look of both curiousity and fear on her face, she never tried to push the limits of what a witch could do however if they could somehow manage to make that happen, then she'd be actually quite happy that the map could end up as how the original one was.

Willow bounced again, making the sofa shake.
"Oh could you imagine it, resurrecting someone. But no, I think that's beyond us. But maybe if we could get hold of a painting of one of them or something. There must be ways of communicating with the dead without meddling with death. There are some things even I'm not stupid enough to do." she said with a big grin at the end.
The more they talked the more her imagination ran away with her. She didn't just want to re-create the Map. She wanted to improve it, and modernise it.
"You know I'm pretty sure we're smarter than all of the Marauders. I know we can do this." she added confidently. "We just have to find the right way to approach this."

"I think that we really need to figure out what if anything needs to be changed on our version of the map so at least we'll have something done since this isn't exactly going anywhere at the moment." Alex said with a slight sigh and she leaned her head back into the couch, this whole map idea was really beginning to frustrate her but there wasn't much that could be done about that now. She wondered if this was actually worth all the trouble to have an actual Marauder's Map but at the moment it just seemed like this were going downhill fast and that was definitely not a good thing.

Willow nodded as Alex talked and picked up the Map of Hogwarts. She could sense that Alex's enthusiasm was starting to wane a little. She unrolled the map and studied it.
"Well the teachers rooms need to be re-labelled. This one's out of date. And we can add things like the Room of Requirement. No one knew it was there when the Marauders were in school but it's common knowledge now.
She still like the idea of finding a painting or photo of one of the Marauders and seeing if it would talk to them. Or maybe there was another way of speaking to the deceased she hadn't thought of.
"What about Defense Against The Dark Arts? Foe Glasses and Darkness detectors: how do they work? Maybe we could incorporate some of that technology into this." She blew air out through her lips so that it made a strange bubbling noise.
"Think outside the box Alexandria!" she said dramatically, trying to look auspicious.

Alex was still trying to figure out what to do with Will's earlier idea about trying to resurrect one of the Marauders to help them with the map, she had heard rumours of some stone around the school that had some power to bring people back from the dead; that would be incredibly useful since even with all their thinking, this map wasn't going anywhere. "You know how you talked about resurrecting one of the Marauders?" she asked curiously, resting her chin in her hand for the moment while she was trying to think how they could go about finding this stone.

Willow watched Alex's face. She was obviously deep in thought about something and she couldn't help being curious about what it might be. So when she mentioned her crazy idea to speak to a Marauder directly she sat up straight with an excited smile.
"Yes. Why? Do you know where we kind find a painting or something?" she asked eagerly.
