As you climb past the portrait, you find yourself in the Gryffindor common room. The first thing you notice is that everything is in scarlett and golden colours. You see a various selection of sofas and armchairs, to sit on and tables, for studying. Here are fireplaces, to keep you warm. On one of the walls there is a majestic Gryffindor lion, followed by the words :
Gryffindor,
Where dwell the brave at heart,
Their daring, nerve and chivalry
Set Gryffindors apart.
You can either study here, or relax after a long day of school. Don't forget to glance at the noticeboard every once in a while.

Amanda said the password and walked into the common room very careful, looking around. She knew that she would be a Gryffindor, since it was in her blood as well, she had many of the traits for a Gryffindor. She sat down on one of the couches and crossed one leg over the other, continuing to look around the common room.

Kelly trashed into the common room, muttering something under her breath. She threw herself on one of the sofas. She closed her eyes and kept talking to herself. One could only make out words like "hate" "rubbing it in" "cruciatus curse" and "Danika". Suddenly she felt someone looking at her. She opened her eyes and sat up, looking at a girl, she had never seen before. "Who are you and what are you doing here" she asked in a cold voice.

"I'm Amanda Lesalle, I'm a transfer student and I just thought that I would come to check out my new home" She said in a quite monotonic voice. Her mind started racing when she saw the other girl who spoke to her. Her paranoia kicked in and then she was off. Her mind had a million thoughts a minute and she wasn't able to calm them down anyway, that's how she always was.

"Transferred? From where? Another one of those Beaubaxtons princesses, are you?" Her voice reflected disdainment. She couldn't believe that these days anyone could come to Hogwarts. Just pop in, in the middle of years. "Don't you have anywhere else to be, than here?" She asked with utter resentment in her voice. She knew she could go to the prefects lounge, but usually there was someone there already.

"I rather despise people like them, no actually, I'm from a magic academy in Canada." She said still in a rather monotonic voice. She got up and rolled her eyes. "Well, since I seem to be interrupting you, I'll just go" She said in a rather cold tone this time. She turned around and headed to the door of the common room.

As the girl turned to leave, Kelly reconsidered her attitude "Hold on now. What's your name?" She seemed new and interesting. "And maybe I need a diversion from Tyson and Danika" Kelly thought to herself. She glanced at the girl and even forced a slight smile on her face.

Andrew walked into the common room thinking frantically. Well the hell am I going to do? There has to be a way... His thoughts stopped cold as he ran into someone he didn't recognize, "Oh..um...sorry." He cleared his throat and smiled, "I'm real sorry. I wasn't watching where I was going. Umm...are you new? I haven't seen you around? I'm Andrew, one of the Gryffindor Prefects."
He looked over her shoulder and saw Kelly in her usual sulking mood, "You alright Kelly?" He didn't see why people took a disliking to her Kelly had never gotten on his nerves much.

"The name's Amanda Lesalle, and who might you be?" She asked still in a rather cold tone with a slight smirk. She turned around to face the girl once again who had been speaking to her. Well, that was obvious change in attitude from when she first was talking to her.
"I am new as a matter of fact, the name's Amanda Lesalle, 6th year, its a pleasure to meet you Andrew." She said with a smile, "Oh so you're a Prefect huh, hmm..that's pretty cool, I used to be a Prefect at my old school" She said.

"I'm Kelly. Kelly Black. 7th year Gryffindor prefect" she opened her mouth to say something else, when Andrew came in. As he spoke to her, she nodded and added "Could do better, but you never hear me complain." She looked as Andrew and Amanda stood in front of the portrait. "Great" Kelly thought "Andrew's gonna ruin my fun"

Andrew smiled at Amanda, "Pleasure to meet you too. That's cool. I'm a sixth year as well." He stepped to the side and walked over toward his favorite chair and sat down, "Same here. Could use a vacation. All these noisy first years...." Not to mention problems going on with Ellie and then there was Bella...Oh, I need a drink. He sighed and leaned back in the chair, "So why'd you come here Amanda?"

Kelly laughed as Andrew spoke, but shut her mouth quickly. She hadn't been laughing in a long time. "Yeah, I know what you mean. I can't even remember, how many people I yelled at today." She took a breath and continued "You should really need to use occlumency, dear, but I feel the same way." Andrew was one of the few people, she still got along with. It was easy, since they hadn't been really close since the beginning.

Andrew smirked slightly as he made Kelly laugh. He shrugged his shoulders, "What's to hide about that fact? It's not like I go thinking state secrets so everyone and there mother can hear them if they wanted. I use it when I need to." He looked over his shoulder at Kelly excitedly, "Did you hear about the new brooms?"

Kelly sneered at him a little. "No, I haven't heard anything about brooms. It's been a long while since I've been on one. Too much problems, to think about flying right now." She remembered the last time she flew a broom. The same time when Sam kissed her. She didn't even dare think about it. It seemed like so far away, yet she could still feel his lips on hers.

Andrew sighed and turned back around, "Right. Well...Professor Lockwood got her class new Firebolts. Just thought it was cool." Though the rest of that class had been horrible. He shook his head as he remembered the ring on Bella's finger. Stupid Sam and his stupid ring. He clenched his jaw and his fists. Maybe that hadn't been a good idea to bring that up. He opened his bag and took out his sketch pad. "I used to love that class," he said as he began drawing randomness to take the anger out, "Now I can't stand it."
