The Lawns

Andrew looked at Alycya, "Do you mind if I borrow them? I need them for the homework." He turned to Ellie confusion still plainly written on his face and gripped her hand when she grabbed his. Andrew sighed and shook his head figuring that what they were talking about was between them he stood up and smiled, "Well ladies, as much as I love playing the lets what's really being discussed game. I seem to not be playing this one well so I'll let you two talk." He bent down and kissed Ellie and waved to Alycya, "I'll be in the common room. Just leave the notes on the table if I'm not for some reason."

Ellie looked at Alycya and was about to talk when Andrew said he was going. She looked at him sadly but kissed him back. "I'll see you tonight hun?" She asked. She didn't want him to leave but figured this would give her the oportunity to talk to Alycya privately.

"Yeah. Of course," Alycya nodded as Andrew asked for her notes. She watched his get up, after kissing Ellie, making part of her die a little. "Mhm. Yeah ok," she murmured. When he was gone, she turned to Ellie. "I'm soooo sorry," she exclaimed.

Andrew nodded, "Yea, I'll see you tonight. Maybe you can help me with the charms." He smiled and walked off still wondering what they had been talking about but couldn't come up with anything. With a sigh he hoped up the steps and walked into the castle.

Ellie nodded and watched as he walked back to the castle. She turned to Alycya and shrugged. "I should be the one who's sorry, I was the one who read your mind." She said softly, making sure no one was around to hear her. "So you like Andrew, a lot of girls here do, why he went for me I will never know."

Alycya shrugged. "I'm used to it. I shouldn't have thought about it," she resolved. She nodded. "Yeah. I'm sorry. Well, you're the lucky one then, aren't you," she shrugged, trying to seem indifferent. Trying to seem as if it really didn't matter anymore. When, in reality, it hurt.

Ellie looked at the girl and let out a soft sigh. "I'm sorry Alycya, I know how much it hurts, to be honest, at first I thought I wouldn't be able to have him. He loved another woman, and though I knew I still, well, slept with him." She laid her hand back on her stomach and le out another sigh. "Trust me, it was complicated at first, I don't think you would've wanted to go through that. And I'm the one who's pregnant not you."

Alycya's face was a mask of sincerity, also indifference. "Mhm," she said. She closed her mind off, just like Hermione had taught her. It was bloody hard, but she was getting good at it. She was able to keep that new Gryffindor, Ceallach, out now. They'd been practising. Hopefully it was enough to keep Ellie out too. At least I'm not some messed up Slytherin, she growled inwardly. She'd never felt like this before. Never felt so stupidly childish. She nodded as Ellie said something like 'at least it's not you that's pregnant.' Alycya sighed. She wouldn't mind being pregnant if it was Andrew's. Especially seeing as what led to being pregnant ...... Alycya!

Ellie watched the girl and noticed the look, the look of indifference on her face. She tried this time to read her mind, but realized the girl was finally blocking her. She let out a sigh and laid back on the grass right before a thought did roll over her. She sat back up and glared at the girl. "I am not a messed up Slytherin! I think you got me confused with a certain Gryffindor!" She said angrily and slowly stood up. "I have tried to be nice, to let this blow over because I felt sorry for you, but now, I'm not going to be." She said and smirked at the girl as her thoughts whent back to Andrew and what she would be like if she was in her situation. "Poor girl, too bad he chose me instead, you might find a guy perfect for you one day if you stop having those thoughts of yours."

Alycya's eyes widened as Ellie repeated her thought. "You know how much easier this would be if you wouldn't try to read my mind! I'm not one of those girls that go aroung looking for boyfriends to steal, so you have nothing to worry about. I just hard. I can't even have thoughts without someone knowing. Just because my 'Mud-blood'" She spat the word "mind won't let me close it off properly." Alycya took in a deep, shuddering breath, standing up to stand in front of Ellie, standing a couple inches taller. She was thinner too, even without Ellie's baby bump. And Alycya was definately prettier. Being around Muggles was so much easier in some respects. "I'm happy for you, that he chose you. He's obviously your match. I may as well get all this out, seeing as you can read my mind anyway. Ugh! I hate being a witch sometimes. And being around Magical people. Living with Muggles is so much more ... private!" Alycya had never exploded like this in her life. She was fun-loving, uber-calm Alycya. Not emotional. This was ridiculous!

"Like I tried to read your thoughts! It's not my fault if they can be so loud!" Ellie said angrily, though she winced slightly when she called herself a mud blood. "I hate that word, it's disgusting!" She said slightly more calmly. She looked at the trees and shook her head. "So much for a friendship, I'm going, I'm done." She said and started walking away but turned back for a second. "I am sorry you didn't get the man you want, but that's no reason to hate me for having him." She said and tuned back around and walked off.

Alycya sighed aggressively. "I don't hate you," she said to Ellie's back, definately loud enough for her to hear her, in both her ears and head. She sighed again, and collapsed on the grass.
"What the hell's happening to me?" she mumbled. She'd been knarcky, irrible, easy to anger, and the like for a while now. She didn't know why. She wanted to stop. BUt she got angry with herself, all the time.

She groaned. Being outside hadn't helped at all. Standing up again, she sighed, brushing herself off. Turning towards the castle, she walked up the lawns, inside, then up to the Gryffindor Common Room.

Merelda found her way to the sweeping lawns of Hogwatrs. There was only one other girl there. She was sprawled on the ground. Mera went up to her shyly, careful not to block the sun.

"Hello, I'm Merelda, but you can call me Mera, if you'd like," she offered. "Who are you?" she asked.

Jazmyn opened her eyes as she heard someone speaking to her. She smiled, sitting up. She wasn't getting much sun anyway. "Hi Mera. I'm Jazmyn. Transfer from Australia," she said. "Nice to meet you. What year are you? What house?" she asked, patting the grass beside her, indicating for the girl to sit.

"Hi, Jasmyn," said Mera, smiling. "I'm a fourth year Ravenclaw, and you?" She sat down next to Jasmyn on the grassy ground.

"Hufflepuff Seventh Year," Jazmyn answered. "Only been here for a few weeks though. Still getting used to the weather. It's freezing here compared to Australia. You been here since First?"
