Liz smiled and walked into the hall, holding on to Simon's arm gently. They'd definitely done well with the decorations for the ball and there were people already dancing!
"Okay maybe we're a little later than we thought," she said softly smiling cheekily at him. "That or everyone else is extremely early." She couldn't believe how smart and beautiful all the students looked, then again there had been no lessons so everyone had probably spent all day getting ready. "Want a drink?" she asked, her eyes scanning the room discretely to figure out where both Kildara and Krysta were. Simon had never felt prouder than when he walked into the Ballroom with Elizabeth on his arm. He felt like the luckiest man alive right now. "I think we might be a little late, darling." he chuckled. He too looked around the room, wondering where his sister was, but he couldn't see her anywhere. He was curious not only to see what her boyfriend was like, but to see what her reaction would be to him dating Liz. "Yeah, let's get some punch or something." he agreed, leading her over to one of the food tables. He poured them both a drink and handed her a glass, smiling at her. He was on cloud 9. |

Caitlyn smiled, she couldn't help it, he just said he was there because he knew she would be. "You came because I was here? Why you're making it sound like you really like me." She laughed nervously. She saw his smirk and felt her stomach jump, the smirk definately worked for him "It wasn't really discomfort, it felt good, as if I knew there was no danger." She spun as he twirled her again and when she came back to him, she gotten closer to him than before. She rested her head on his chest, loving being so close to him. "Why would anyone want to stay away from you, you're so friendly, hot, everything, you're perfect." She whispered as she closed her eyes trying to hear his heartbeat, but was surprised when she couldn't. She looked up at her, her head tilting as he said he had years of experience. "You have no heartbeat." She said softly as they continued to dance, not even mentioning the many year of experience in dancing. Dmetri smiled, "Well why would I shun the one person I actually enjoy talking to? I enjoy being around?" He laughed slightly, "I guess you could say I do kind of like you." He listened to her describe him with a slight smile but did not answer her question. I am playing dangerously close to letting out my secret. She has not even noticed the lack of my accent yet. As he felt her against his chest he smiled and then his froze at her remark. Not replying he twirled her around again and continued moving gracefully along the dance floor expecting Caitlyn to run away from him in what seemed to be the normal reaction from him. |

Ellie walked into the hall and looked at the gorgeous decorations. She smiled and looked at Andrew as he commented on them. "We're wizards, there are no limits when it comes to decorations." She said resting her head on his shoulder. "A punch sounds good." She said looking up at him. She kissed his cheek, not able to keep her kips away from him. Andrew laughed, "I know...but still." He looked down and smiled as Ellie rested her head against his shoulder. "Alright," he smiled as she kissed his cheek and led her over to the drink table. He poured her a glass of punch and handed it to her. "There you are." He turned back and poured one for himself as well. He smiled at her and tapped his glass against hers, "Cheers." He felt more relaxed here with her then he had all semester and his smile widened at the thought. |

"Punch sounds lovely."She followed him over to the drinks and took the glass that he handed her. "Thank you," she said drinking some of it. How she could be here when there were people like...Kit here. The woman looked fabulous and the oriental dress was the perfect style for her.
The best thing about tonight was after it, they wouldn't have to hide kisses in either the hallways or staff room. "One good thing about knowing what your date looks like; you won't get mixed up," she said pointing at two guys that were wearing the exact same outfit. |

"Yeah. Catching up. Uh - Not fixed plans. If you have plans for me later, I can very easily cancel. We were just going to go for a drink," James added, just for good measure. His voice was calm. "I see." If they'd been planning just a drink, then Kaiia was a mountain troll! "Well, we'll have to see how the evening progresses." After all, there were plenty of other attractive men in the room, and Kaiia had been conscious of some of the looks she'd been getting... She smiled up at James. "I'd love to dance," she said, moving into his arms. |

Aidan paused at the doors, and smiled at Angel on his arm. "Did I tell you how stunning you look tonight?" he asked. He knew that he had, but it was worth saying again. On impulse, he leaned down and kissed her cheek, then he adjusted his mask, and with a gesture towards the ballroom, said, "Shall we?"

"I think you may be right," Liz said laughing, inwardly cursing her necklace. Then again, it did finish the ensemble and it wouldn't have looked as good without it.

"Well no mistaking me, I'm wearing the matching shirt, remember." he grinned, tugging at the pink fabric. He couldn't believe he'd picked the one shirt that went with her dress. Maybe it was a good omen. "Hmmm, well I fancy a dance. Would you like to?" he asked. |

Returning to Nathalie he smiled and picked up his drink from the table, swallowing some. "I'm sorry about that Nathalie. Professor Snape will need me to patrol outside later on to ake sure people aren't sneaking off and doing things they aren't supposed to." he said with a smile, twisting the truth slightly. He and Dara woud be the ones sneaking off to do thins they weren't supposed to. "But for now I'm all yours. Would you like to dance?" he asked. "Oh that's all right. You did warn me," Nathalie assured him. She felt herself blushing a little at the prospect of dancing with Caeleb. Finally, all those boring dancing lessons she'd been forced to take would be worthwhile. "I'd love to dance," she told him, smiling up at him. |

"Oh that's all right. You did warn me," Nathalie assured him. She felt herself blushing a little at the prospect of dancing with Caeleb. Finally, all those boring dancing lessons she'd been forced to take would be worthwhile. "I'd love to dance," she told him, smiling up at him. "Wonderful." he beamed. He took her glass and placed it on the table beside his then took her hand, placing his other hand on her waist. With a hearty laugh he whisked her away onto the dancefloor in an enthusiastic waltz. "Hey you're a great dancer!" he exclaimed, impressed when she kept up with him easily. He moved her around the floor gracefully, but energetically, laughing and chuckling with fun. He really wanted her to enjoy herself. |

"Stunning," Liz replied truthfully. She knew Kit was into the oriental thing. "I don't know I mean, some people like coming by htemselves because it gives them the oppertunity to meet others." When Simon trailed off she turned to him and saw him scowling. "Hey," she said softly, "what's wrong? You're meant to be having fun, not scowling."
She laughed and looked him up and down as if appraising him. "No, you my love will always be easy to distiguish," she remarked. "I still can't believe you managed to pick out the same colour as I'd chosen," she told him. The chances of that were like little to none, and yet it had happened.
"I'd love to," she said when faced with the proposition of dancing. She put her cup down and held his hand, leading him to the dancefloor. He looked at her and smiled. "It doesn't matter. We just had a little disagreement about who she should and shouldn't be seeing. Sometimes I find it hard to turn 'big brother' mode off." he explained gently. He smiled as she agreed to dance and his heart skipped a beat as she took his hand and pulled him onto the dance floor. He slid his arm around her waist andtook her hand in the other. He twirled her around once and then settled into a smooth and graceful waltz, pulling her gently out of the way of Caeleb and Nathalie who were spinning arund the dance floor like two crazy people. He chuckled and looked down at her. "You are so beauiful." he told her. He was sure his chest was going to burst with pride. |

The music was a waltz and that was easy enough to do once she remembered the steps properly enough. It was really fun dancing with him and she kept her eyes almost always on his.

Tobias was looking for Gabby everywere and when he finally realised that he wouldnt find her he made his way down to the ball with his mask on thinking that there would be no chance of her seeign him with this mask or even him seeing her , once he walked into the ballroom he was tired from all of that searching so he took a seat at the side with a drink he had picked up on the way over.

It was fun, it was intimate and it was enchanting. He felt like he could have danced all night, and it wasn't exactly top of his list of favouite things to do. But with her it was a treasure. Just being with her was the best time he'd ever had, but the dancing: it was the way they moved together, matching rhythm and co-ordination. It's like they were one force, gliding around the dance floor. He was almost dizzy with happiness. He blushed when she called him handsome. He wasn't used to that sort of compliment and coming from her it meant even more. The music changed, becoming slow and romantic. Simon smiled, looking down slightly as he pulled her close. He looked into her eyes and he began to gently and slowly move. No longer caring that half the school may be watching he rested his cheek against hers and sighed. |
