Angel smiled as they had managed to move to one side of the dancefloor and then near the doors to the Hall. As Aidan slid his arms round her waist, hers found their way around his neck and kissed him back with equal passion. That was definitely one good thing about being off the dance floor. The kiss left her a little breathless and she could still feel it after they'd stopped. She caressed his cheek gently as he spoke and then grinned seeing him blush. "You know seeing you too drunk to walk wasn't that bad. I felt sorry for you more than anything, even I know not to mess with the others when it comes to drinking," she teased. "That has to be the kindest thing anyone's said to me. Thank you," she said softly. "You should know that it's pretty special being with you and being called beautiful as well." "Not kind - just true," Aidan replied, smiling as Angel stroked his cheek. The noise in the hall was getting to be a bit annoying, so he said, "Shall we step out for a moment? Just go somewhere quieter for a while?" He wasn't sure where this would lead. Maybe just to some conversation and a few kisses - which would be fine. He knew better than to try to rush someone like Angel into anything. Besides, it seemed different with her, more significant than just the prospect of a quick snog

Chris hesitated awkwardly. "Well - maybe I could stay a bit longer." He looked at the buffet table. "I am kind of hungry." He nodded at Sam's advice. "I suppose I've just sort of lost my nerve for now." He looked surprised at Sam's next words. "You mean - Bella slapped you?" He was dying to ask why, but maybe that would be nosy... Sam chuckled. "No no no. Bella hasn't slapped me - yet. Well, she has, but just in play. I meant if I'd given up after the first girl that slapped me, had, I wouln't have got as far as I did to get Bella, is what I meant. But, I didn't, and now, I have her. And we're engaged, and we're happy. So, what I'm saying is, if you don't let this get to you, you could end up like me!" he chuckled. "I've been slapped a lot of times, and for a lot more than just a little bit of tongue." He grinned.

Nathalie saw, with relief, that her date had returned. But she would at least finish this dance with Adam. She was grateful to him for asking her to dance, and it would be very bad manners to just dump him the moment Caeleb returned. "I guess Caeleb caught those students, whoever they were," she commented to Adam, laughing. Adam smiled, looking around. "So it seems," he said. The music changed, and he grinned at her. "Well, I suppose I should take you back to Caeleb now," he said, taking her arm and leading her back to the table. He gave Caeleb a friendly smile. "She's all yours. I hope you got all those students you were supposed to."

As she took her seat beside Caeleb, she said, "Did you take care of your prefect duties to the headmistress's satisfaction?" she asked with a grin.

She heard his suggestion and nodded immediately. "Good idea," she replied. She didn't care where they went, but it was loud in the hall and she could barely hear Aidan, let alone herself. The idea of being alone with him though was an incentive to leave the hall, she didn't know what they'd end up doing, but she'd worry about that when it came. "Where should we go?" she asked.

Sam sighed, raising an eyebrow. "She slapped you for that! That's ridiculous. I thought you must have groped her or something. Really in the wrong she was," Sam observed. He nodded when Chris said he was going to go. "Chris, don't let this dampen your spirits. If I stopped after I got slapped, the first time, I wouldn't have Bella," he noted. Raven walked back into the ballroom and saw Chris. She put her mask back on and walked over to him. "Chris, listen. I'm sorry for doing that, I just freaked, and my insincts took over. I'm just not used to having guys kiss me, I haven't kissed a guy in a long time and you just were pushing things took quickly. Just be more gentle next time, don't lead with the tongue please." She said and smiled.

He took a step backwards, and his foot caught a nearby chair, making him stumble. He flung out a hand to steady himself, putting it right down on the rim of a big punchbowl. It flipped, sending a wave of bright red liquid sloshing over Chris, and splashing Raven, Sam, and others standing nearby. Chris stood, horrified, soaked from shoulder to waist in punch. He stared at Raven speechlessly, hearing a ripple of laughter around him. Abruptly, he brushed past her, intent on getting out of the Ballroom and away from all the grins and snickers. Once outside, he ran up the main staircase, ignoring the startled glances of other students, as he headed for the Gryffindor tower.

Well then she hadn't expected that to happen, that's a nice thing to come back to. Apologize for what you did then end up getting splashed by punch and having your date run out embarrassed. Raven didn't know what else to do now, she was a tad frustrated that her dress got ruined by the punch but that feeling quickly subsided. She sat down at one of the empty table and put her head down, she felt like an absolute fool at the moment.

As she entered she saw the punch bowl on the floor, people laughing quietly and Sam and Raven soaked like Chris had been. "Oh dear," she muttered pulling out her wand and waving it at the bowl, repairing it and placing it back on the table. Turning to face Sam and Raven she sighed and although Raven was at the table sitting down cleaned her dress first. Honestly it was a good thing magic existed. Then she walked over to Sam and sighed, getting rid of the stains on his suit before hugging him. "Well that didn't go so well."

Once outside, he ran up the main staircase, ignoring the startled glances of other students, as he headed for the Gryffindor tower. Sam watched in horror as Chris stumbled into the drinks table and put an arm out to steady the younger boy, but wasn't quick enough. He groaned, watching as the red liquid of the punch, soaked Chris, and splashed over himself, Raven and anyone who was close enough. He heard people starting to laugh, and he sighed. Chris really didn't need this. He watched the boy run from the room. Turning, he saw Raven sitting down at the table, looking like Chris was completely in the wrong. He shook his head. Poor Chris. Yes, Raven's dress was soaked, but seriously, was she a witch or not. For some reason, although he didn't really like Raven to begin with, he liked her even less because of this. Chris deserved someone that wasn't so... troubled. Bella was walking to the hall when she saw Chris, his white shirt red, running up the stairs fast. That's not good... As she entered she saw the punch bowl on the floor, people laughing quietly and Sam and Raven soaked like Chris had been. Sam watched as Bella cleaned Raven's dress, and he shook his head again. Raven was useless. You would think it was her that just got embarrassed repeatedly just then. He gave Bella a smile, as she cleaned his top. He was just about to do that. Hugging her back, he sighed. "Nope. Poor Chris. All of this was highly unneccessary." He sighed again. "I don't want to stand here and watch Raven feel sorry for herself," he groaned. No point in pretending he liked her when he didn't. He wasn't too good at lying anyway.

She breathed in and smiled to herself, she may have gotten rid of the stains, but Sam's shirt still smelt of the punch. It was nice, part punch, part Sam. Looking up at Sam she nodded understandably, she knew he didn't like her and she'd know he was lying if he said he did. "One sec then we'll go dance again alright?" she said leaning up and kissing him. "Promise." She quickly walked over to Raven and crouched down. "Raven, I'm going to go and dance with Sam. If you want to stay then stay and just have fun with everyone else. Not everyone who's here has a date. But if you want to go back to the common room that's fine too." She rubbed the girl's back softly for a few minutes then stood up again. "Can I have this dance?" she asked Sam, as another song began at that moment.

"Alright, I'll-uh see you later Bella." Raven said getting up and heading out of the ballroom, making her way back down to the dungeons so she could be alone. Smart move there Raven, now you look like public enemy number 1 to whoever saw you slap Chris. You should have just stayed in the common room Her mind yelled at her and she felt tears roll down her cheeks, not really caring anymore.

Andrew looked at Ellie and smirked, "Whatever you want to do." As he felt her lips against his he closed his eyes and sighed, "I say you're right." He whispered as her lips brushed against his again this time he kissed her pulling back slightly he let go of her hand and with his arm still around her back started walking toward the exit. He smirked and turned toward her, "You didn't want to come anyway did you?" After all they had spent maybe all of an hour there and hadn't spoken to anyone else. Ellie smirked as Andrew led her toward the exit. "You know me, dances really aren't my thing, plus, my feet tend to hurt if I stay on them for too long." She smiled up at him, not realizing the smile then turned to a smirk. "Of course, the most fun is being alone with you. Can you imagine what we could get away with on our own, what we have gotten away with on our own?"

When Bella came back to him, he smiled. "Yes you can," he said, taking her hand and leading her over to the dancefloor, twirling her around with everyone else.

"The beginning of this term," Ceallach answered, trying not to react to his touch. They'd been talking for about ten minutes, and had moved to a table, when laughed, and slapped his thigh softly, causing him to lean forward and kiss her. She responded. It felt wierd to be kissing someone else's date, but, he was Dara's brother, not her boyfriend or anything, so it was fine. Kildara walked back into the Hall, looking around. She spotted Caeleb, and she smiled. Then she looked around for Michael. She saw him sitting at a table... kissing... Ceallach? Kildara raised an eyebrow, trying not to laugh. Walking over to them, she stopped at the table, and cleared her throat. The couple sprang apart, looking up at her, both looking actually rather sheepish when they saw who it was. "I'm glad you found something to entertain yourself with while I was gone, Michael," she said, trying to keep the laugh out of her voice. "Uh - Kildara! Did you get those students?" Michael asked, turning sort of red in the face. Kildara was the only person that could make him do that.Ceallach was embarassed. "Umm. Sorry Professor Snape," she said softly, her head bowed.Kildara actually let a laugh escape her lips. The pair looked at her. She shook her head. "I don't care. Miss o Raghallaigh, I just warn you, he's old." She grinned at Michael, who looked at her, scandalised. "What do you mean by 'old'?" Ceallach asked, glancing at Michael. He didn't look too old.Kildara smiled. "I'm 12 years older than you, yes?" Ceallach nodded her head. "And he's 5 years older than me." Ceallach's mouth dropped open. "Well done, little sis," Michael said shaking his head. Kildara just grinned at him.Ceallach surprised both of them, when she just shrugged her shoulders. "When you said old, I thought you meant like heaps older than that!" she chuckled.Kildara looked at her, shocked. Then she sighed. "Whatever," she said, shaking her head, and sitting down at the table. Michael raised an eyebrow. Well, this was unexpected. Ceallach eyed Kildara curiously. She stood up, tapping Michael on the shoulder, and motioning for him to follow her. "I'm sorry Dara," she said again.Kildara just shrugged, knowing they were leaving. Now she was the one that was sitting by herself. Oh the irony!
