Kildara smiled. "5 points to Ravenclaw" she said happily. "Pythagoras was a 6th Century BC philosopher, mathematician and mystic. Does any one know where he was born?" she asked.

Kildara nodded her head, a smile on her face. "5 points to Hufflepuff." she smiled.
She put a finger to her book and ran it down the page, looking for something else to ask.
"Who discovered the magical proporties of the number 7? And in what year?" she asked. That was the end of Chapter one. Now she'd actually have to start teaching.

He knew that one, "Bridget Wenlock" he said, after he raised his hand, "Umm, in the 1200s, I think" he answered, Nathan didn't quite remember the exact date.

Kildara smiled. She was quite surprised Danika wasn't answering. "Well Done Mr Asthore. Take another 5 points for Ravenclaw." he really was trying hard. She looked back down at her book and sighed. Well, now they would witness her shocking teaching skills. "There are currently two major branches/methods of practicing Arithmancy in existence – the Pythagorean (Agrippan) Method and the Chaldean Method. The major distinction between these systems is the presence of the number 9. While the Pythagorean System uses the number 9 to represent letters, the Chaldean System excludes this number completely. We will be working with the Pythagorean Method in this class." she said. She turned to the board and the chalk lifted itself and wrote the following on the board.  She turned back to the class and smiled. "This is the Agrippan Number chart. This is what you wil use when calculating your Destiny, Heart's Desire and Personality Numbers." she finished. "Any questions?" she asked. |

Kildara smiled. "It's alright dear. This leads us on to the next bit. I may as well go on." she turned to the board and it again wiped itself clean. The chalk lifted itself again and the following appeared on the board.
KILDARA MEROPE SNAPE
(2+9+3+4+1+9+1)+(4+5+9+6+7+5)+(1+5+1+7+5)
= (2+9)+(3+6)+(1+9)
= (1+1)+9+(1+0) = 2+9+1
= 1+2 = 3
She turned to the class again and smiled. "So therefore, my Destiny Number is a 3. Our Destiny Number is what we will be working on today. I want everyone to do the same, but for your own name, remembering to reduce each name to a single digit before adding them all together." she said happily.

(1+2) + 3 + 5 = 3 + 3 + 5 = 11 or 2
He frowned, "I have a question, Professor Snape, should I leave it as a master number if my Destiny number is 11 or change it to 2?" he asked, unsure of it.

Kildara smiled and walked over to Nathaniel. She looked down at his work and smiled. "In that case, you have to right both down. You always have to reduce to a single digit. But in the case of Master Numbers, you write them bothe down. Like this," she took his quill and wrote 11/2 next to his workings. "Answer your question?" she asked happily.

Kildara smiled and patted the boy on the shoulder. "I'm glad I could help," she said, walking back up to the front of the class, clutching her stomach. She needed to sit down, and pronto. She collapsed into her throne-like chair behind her desk and watched the rest of the class.
Danika got out a piece of parchment and started writing.
DANIKA JEZABEL PEVERELL
(4+1+5+9+2+1)+(1+5+8+1+2+5+3)+(7+5+4+5+9+5+3+3)
= (2+2)+(2+5)+(4+1) = 4+7+5
= 1+6 = 7
