Andrew looked at her oddly, "Why would I mind? I've purposely avoided my siblings because they pressure me to join the order. My uncles think I should learn the dark arts and so to prove a point I've chosen neither. I've got friends on both sides, Ellie, I just hope that..." He swallowed, "This whole thing stops before people get hurt again, people I care about."

Ellie looked at Andrew, and for the first time fear seeped through her. "Andrew, if I had a choice, I wouldn't have joined either." She felt a tear run down her face and looked at the floor again. "I didn't want to, and now I'm scared."

Andrew looked at Ellie and put his arm around her to comfort her. "I know. I am scared too." He looked at her and gave her a hug.

Ellie leaned into him, grateful to have him there to comfort her. "You are?" She asked him before he pulled her into a hug. She wrapped her arms around him, laying her head on his shoulder, maybe her life wasn't so bad afterall.

Andrew nodded, "Yea, I am. I have friends on both sides of this stupid war. I have family on both sides and people I love. So yea I'm scared about what will happen."

Ellie nodded and looked at him. "It must be hard to have people on both sides. Everyone in my family is on the dark side." She said softly. "But me, I actually wanted to be on the good side, be in the order."

Ellie looked at Andrew, confusion on her face. "How is that possible?" She asked him, trying to think of ways. "As a spy or something?"

Andrew looked around and whispered, "I'm not saying it's the best plan. I much prefer taking no sides. But it is a way...if you really hate being with the side you are on now."

Ellie looked at Andrew, surprised that he even thought of something like that. "But isn't that even more dangerous than being on just one side?" She whispered, though she was liking the idea a bit.

Andrew looked at Ellie, "Yea, it is. But if you really don't want to be on the side your on and can't let anyone know differently, what is the other option. If you already signed onto that particular side I know you can't back out." He looked at the ground and back at her, "It's not the best option and I..well I probably wouldn't do it, but it is an option." He looked her in the eye, "If they catch you, they'll kill you. So don't do it cause I kind of like you and I don't want to lose anybody else. I tend to just ramble anyway."

Ellie nodded at Andrew and gave him another hug. "I'll think about it, okay, and if I do decide to do it, you'll be the first to know." She said and smiled when he told her that he kind of liked her. "You like me?" She asked him a soft light blush on her face.

Andrew nodded, "You better." He turned slightly red and looked away, "Yea...well I'm sort of, kind of seeing someone right now. So...friends right now, just friends. But, yea I do. You're nice, kind, easy going." He smiled at her and looked down shyly.

Ellie looked at Andrew sadly and looked back at the floor. "Oh, yeah friends is great." She said trying not to show her disappointment. She looked back at him and smiled, though it didn't quite reach her eyes. "Thanks, that's actually new to hear, then again, you haven't seen my bad side."

Andrew saw her disappointment and sighed. He didn't want to ruin his chances with Raven. "Well...that means there is more to get to know about you." He smiled and grabbed his pack standing up. "I have to get to class. It was a pleasure to meet you Ellie. Hope to see you around." He smiled at her and gave her a hug before walking up the stairs.
