Just this once, probably, there’s a bonfire by the lake, it gets easier to interpret the fire this way.

"Feel free to sit on one of those rocks" Caterina said, pointing to some rocks around the bonfire, "I still have to explain the practice, and it will make time for the fire to grow stronger" she said, adding a few logs to the fire itself.

"Wow," Bella said as a huge bonfire came into view. It looked amazing, fire against water; two contradicting elements that looked beautiful together. She didnt' know about the swim though, she had already an involuntary one recently thanks to a certain prefect.

Danika smiled. She loved bonfires. Her and fires got along really well. This was going to be a great lesson. Even if she was only taking it as a filler. If it had to do with fire, she liked it.

Caterina was actually glad to see a smile on Danika's face, she never thought she'd see that, not in her class at least. "This is a natural fire, there's no spell on it whatsoever, we'll be working only with this bonfire" she said, rather serious, "There's no creating another one, alright?" she had the groundskeeper permission for this one only, and even if she could control the water, she didn't feel like explaining to Lily-Anne why was there another bonfire around.
"Can someone tell me what are the different patterns the fire can make? And what do they mean?" she asked, walking a bit away from the fire.

Bella raised her hand, she knew a few of them, "Well if you see flowers in the coals of a fire, it normally means that you will suffer dissapointment. However if you see a windmill or a fountian it represents that something will change for the better."

"Okay, I seemed to be asking the question in an incorrect way" she said, Isabella's answer was actually correct, but not what she wanted to get to at this point, "What I meant was, the different patterns the flames could take, not the coals themselves" she said, and looked at Isabella, "Don't worry Miss Peters, you still get one point because your answer held correct information" Caterina sure needed to formulate her next questions better, anything related to fire wasn't exactly very easy, but it wasn't hard either.

Danika had read her entire Divination book. She was now thinking it was a bad idea. The whole book was just mushed together in her head. She could see pictures of the things she'd read. Flames, flames. Why couldn't she think of flames. She looked into the fire and tried really hard to think. "Umm. If it goes into one point, it's a good omen. If it splits in two, it's bad. If it bends, could mean sickness or death. If it goes out, then that could mean some sort of devestating accident or catastrophe. Maybe?" she finished. She was pretty sure she'd said it wrong. Or maybe anwered it differently. Stupid textbook. She wanted to just walk into the flames, feel them licking her body. Fire didn't affect her. Didn't burn her, heat her up. It tickled her and soothed her. She stared into the bonfire, completely mesmerised.

Andrew sat by himself around the fire with a piece of parchment out and a quill drawing the fire and the lake behind it. He looked up when the professor asked a question. His mind was blank even though he had studied for the class. He frowned and continued to draw trying to get his thoughts back on track. Fire... His mind was coming up with a blank and he sighed in frustration.

It tickled her and soothed her. She stared into the bonfire, completely mesmerised. "Only when working with a candle, Miss Peverell" she said, and nodded, looking back at the others, "I would take things easy if I were you" she said, and winked, reading just for reading wasn't precisely good.Andrew sat by himself around the fire with a piece of parchment out and a quill drawing the fire and the lake behind it. He looked up when the professor asked a question. His mind was blank even though he had studied for the class. He frowned and continued to draw trying to get his thoughts back on track. Fire... His mind was coming up with a blank and he sighed in frustration. Caterina rolled her eyes slightly this time, "Mister McDougall, which class are you on?" she asked, looking at the boy drawing, he'll have time to draw later on.
She looked away, "I won't keep asking this, Miss Perevell was right on those reactions the candle flame might have, but when we encounter flames just at the one you're looking at..." she said the last part looking at Danika, "...I say it's rather difficult to tell if it splits into two, or blends, however, the fire in this case could go out" she explained, "But it doesn't necessarily means an accident or catastrophe, if the fire suddenly becomes extinct it simply means bad luck or a change in life".
She walked around once more and spoke, "Some meanings the flames can give us will be, danger if they're uneven" she started to point out, "Wavering flames could be interpreted as journey; spiral flames indicate plots by enemies, and I'll be particularly careful with sparks, as they mean caution. Before I bore you with more meanings, does anyone know how a bad omen and a good omen can be indicated in the flames?" she asked, raising an eyebrow, that was an easy question, even just using logic.

Amelina looked through the fire, her mind tracking paths, memories of get together's, gorgeous hills and rolling seas. Glistening the lake looked beautiful, much more of a tempting dip than the Mediterannean. She glanced over at Andrew, his drawing had gotten to a point where he wasn't doing anything but. Bella's eyes had glazed over looking at the fire. She turned when Professor Sunwood asked a question. "Er..don't thin wispy flames or one single point mean a good two mean a bad omen and if it's three that's even better than one.If it bends that's means sickness or ill health or something along those lines. If it goes out....that means catastrophe" She said, vaguely remembering Captomancy from her textbook. She moved across to sit next to Danika. This lesson was going to kill her if she didn't talk to anyone. "Hey...I thought you didn't do tea leaves?" She said, teasing.

She'd been so engrossed in the fire that she had actually forgotten she was in class. "Oh hi, Amelina. I don't. But this isn't tea leaves now is it? I like fire. And anyways, I needed the credits. No Quidditch on the curriculum," she said softly, laughing softly.

Amelina looked at her curiously. "Despite it's fire....it's calm" She said, feeling how strangely it reflected herself. "Well Flying is as close to.....it's still not the same is it?" She said, softly. "It's a good thing Sunwood loves being outside....it's much more interesting out here than in the classroom." Her eyes glazing over, the flames jumped and licked at each other, slowly covering each other and then leaping away. She smiled softly, it was truly beautiful.

"I love watching fire. It's so calming," she said softly. "Flying is great, if it wasn't, I wouldn't be out on the Pitch for blooming 3 hours a day. Fire is just different." Danika felt a sort of connection to fire, she couldn't explain. It's free, allowed to do pretty much anything it wants. She watched the flames leaping over each other, the way they seem to jump and land somewhere else, the way it bends. She wanted to walk through it. "Yeah, good thing that. I hate being inside," she said softly, not taking her eyes off the flames.

Amelina nodded, not really listening. She getting a little cold and it was the light bouncing off the lake that interested her more than Pyromancy. "True....but then again, the feeling of the wind is much more exhilarating than the four walls of a HoM classroom" She said, quietly. She reached into her bag taking out her notebook and began writing. Her poems stretching over the page, somehow her song began about fire quickly turned into heartbreak and loss. She smiled getting to the second verse and her pen slowed, the adjectives lost and her inspiration decreasing. She looked back at the lake, her pen poised at her mouth. She looked contemplative, elegant but crushed almost. Glancing back at her page she closed it, the past was the past.
