Jocelyn walked into the room, and steered Eleanor over to the bed, helping her to lie down.
"Ok dear. Katie will be in as soon as possible. If you need to throw up, do, don't hold it in, it'll make it feel worse." she instructed.
"I have to go now. I'll check back," she said softly, smiling gently before walking out of the room.

Ellie laid down on the bed and nodded at the receptionist. She didn't want to throw up, she hated it, and it was disgusting. She looked back at the receptionist as she said she had to go. "Wait, I want to hear..." She started but didn't finish as she ran out the door. Ellie let out a sigh and laid back on the pillow, staring up at the ceiling. She hated this, she didn't want to be here, at least not alone. "Please hurry Andrew." She whispered.

Katie walked into the room, smiling at Ellie. "Now, my dear. You need to tell me exactly what is wrong. Is there pain? Or just nausea?" she asked, trying to keep her voice free of judgement. Jocelyn seemed to have taken a liking to the girl. She laid her hands on Ellie's stomach and sighed. Jocelyn was right. The things kids get up to these days!
Jocelyn bustled back into the room, Andrew at her heels. "Ok, here she is. Ellie, Andrew's here," she said softly. She looked over to Katie and gave her an enquiring look. She sighed when she nodded her head. Jeez. These two were much too young!

Ellie looked at the door as the receptionist from outside came in. Fear gripped her, where was Andrew, she couldn't do this alone, she just couldn't! As the nurse or receptionist, whichever, asked her where the pain was, a fresh roll of nausea overcame her. She quickly ducked to the side of the bed and hurled into a bucket. "Arg, it's mostly..." She started to say when the receptionist from downstairs came up with someone Ellie wanted to see the most of. "Andrew!!" She shouted with glee and relief.

Andrew nodded at Jocelyn thankfully and headed over toward Ellie's bedside. "I'm sorry I'm late. I was running behind." He gripped Ellie's hand and smiled reassuringly, looking up at the lady that was on the other side of Ellie he looked at her worriedly. "What's wrong with her? Is it something serious? I mean I know stomach flues don't last that long...is it something else?" The questions spurted out of his mouth seemingly all at once with no breaks between.

Katie sighed heavily. She looked at Jocelyn. She was better at telling people this than she was. She always got Jocelyn up here to tell people this sort of news.
"I - Jocelyn will tell you. I'll be back," she said, nodding curtly at the couple. She left the room, unable to look at them without judging them. This wasn't supposed to happen to people so young!
Jocelyn sighed as well. Katie wasn't very good at this. Jocelyn smiled and sta on the egde of Ellie's bed. "Ellie. There is a very good reason why this 'stomach bug' has lasted so long, and you are throwing up so much. Well, it can be good or bad, depending on which way you look at it. Ellie, Andrew," she said, looking at both of them. She took a deep breath, smiling encouragingly at Ellie. "You're pregnant." She sighed again, looking at them both, waiting for the reaction she knew would come.

Ellie smiled at Andrew, her fear slowly ebbing away. She squeezed his hand in hers as he asked the questions she was thinking of earlier. She looked at the two women and waited for their answer. She watched suspiciously as one of them left the room and her fear started coming back. She looked at the receptionist as she spoke and let out a momentarily relief and turned to Andrew. "See, Andrew, it's no stomach bug after all. I'm just preg..." She stopped as what the receptionist had said sunk in. She looked at her with wide, fearful eyes. "Receptionist said what?" She shook her head and looked at Andrew quickly before turning back to her. "No, that imposs..." Was it impossible? Had they used protection...the answer was easy, no they haven't. "No, I...I can't be..."

"Honey, that's what they all say. That's what I said. That's why I knew what was wrong. But I didn't want to say anything just incase you were just sick. Ellie, having a child is a wonderful thing, even so young. Ok, maybe not as young as you are, And you still have to go to school, but having a child growing inside you is the best feeling in the world," she explained. She wanted to impress on Ellie, she knew what she was going through. "I was only a year older than you are now. Head Girl at Beauxbatons, when I got pregnant with my daughter. I was scared. I said it was impossible. But at least you've got your boyfriend to stick by you. Mine shot through. Couldn't be bothered with a pregnant girlfriend. so be thankful Andrew is still sitting there by your side to help you through this," she reasoned. She needed to make Ellie as calm as possible. |

Andrew's eyes grew wide in shock as he heard what Jocelyn said. He shook his head in denial, "No, no she can't be." She could be... He didn't want to believe it, this wasn't happening. Sure he loved her but he also loved Bella and this was all getting very confusing, "It must be a mistake that's all." He laughed nervously and ran his hand through his hair. Oh, boy.

Jocelyn sighed. She just hoped Andrew wouldn't do a Josef and leave. He had that look. That 'I'm not ready' look. It scared her a bit.
"Did you want me to leave you two alone to talk about this?" she asked, standing up. She didn't really want to leave them, but they needed time to sort it out, and she should probably get back to poor Peta. She was probably having a freak out.

Ellie listened to Jocelyn and continued to shake her head no. "Listen, like Andrew just said, there has to be a mistake. I...I can't be pregnant!" She said as tears started forming in her eyes. "Examine me again, please, it's just not possible!" She can't be, and not because she didn't love Andrew, but because of the....well her responsibilities. She can't have a child inside her while she had too much she had to do, to know that her life could be in danger in any given moment. She looked at Andrew, he couldn't believe it either, so...so it must not be true, it just can't be. She looked at Jocelyn when she said she could leave them alone. "No, tell the healer, or whatever she is to come back in and examine me again, this can't be right!"

Jocelyn sighed again. "I can examine you. I'm a trained midwife. But, I'm telling you, Katie wouldn't have reacted like that and left the room." she admitted. Then, she layed her hand on Ellie's stomach, letting out another sigh. "Ellie I'm sorry. But we can't a mistake with things like this." she said softly. She knew how Ellie was feeling. She knew all too well. Her daughter started at a Muggle school this year. It was her birthday too. 6 years ago today, she was in the Beauxbatons Infirmary giving birth to her daughter. She knew exactly how Ellie was feeling.

Ellie felt Jocelyn touch her stomach again as nausea washed over her again. She tried to hold back the tears, not becoming successful, though she did hold her stomach down. "No, you don't understand, I can't be pregnant, there's just too much on my shoulders!" She told the girl as she sat up and threw her legs over the side of the bed. "This is why I'm scared of hospitals, they give you the worse news possible!" She exclaimed as she tried to get up. Once she stood however, the room started spinning and she started swaying on her feet.

Jocelyn was just about to lose her temper with this one. She was usually fine, even with girls that shrieked and screamed and blatantly refuse to have it. But Ellie seemed different. She was confused, the poor girl.
"You obviously don't understand. Ellie, you have a baby growing inside you, no matter how much you want to deny it. I don't know your personal situation, and I'm not going to ask, but the baby inside you chose you, because it thought you'd be able to deal. Ellie, don't get up!" she said, desperately, as the girl got up. She raced to her, holding her shoulders as she started to sway. She steered her back onto the bed.
"I'm sorry. But you now have choices. You can either let this miracle grow inside you, and you can love it, and eventually have it, bringing a true miracle into your life. Or you kill it. Save yourself the hassle. But, could you live with yourself afterwards." Jocelyn took a deep breath. She'd never been so blunt before. She felt she needed Ellie to understand. Understand that this baby could bring her more joy than anything else could.
