Sara sighed. "I did," she replied, emphasising the 'did'. She wasn't quite sure she wanted him to let go anymore. She groaned. "I don't how much I want that now..." She sighed, then nodded when he repeated her comment about her keeping him.
"Well, I guess I'll see you around," she murmured, cursing these new bloody tear ducts as her eyes began to tear up again.

Equinox, Sara Templeton's owl, flew through an open window of the dingy pub, landing on a table in front of Rabastan. She held herr leg out for him to take the letter from it. The letter, written in Sara's flowy script reads, Dear Rab,
I know I am probably one of the last people you want to hear from right now, but I have to tell you. I love you. And I always will. Since seeing you again, memories of all the great times we spent together all those years ago have come flooding back. Memories I tried to forget, I'll admit it. I though that by telling you I couldn't do it, that I'd actually be able to hold to that. But, I can't. I'll never stop loving you. I hope you can forgive my abruptness with you, and all the tears. You're the only person in my life that has ever made me feel remotely human. Not cared about what I am. I'm asking you if you'll let me come back into your life, like I want you back in mine.
My everlasting love,
Sara

Rab was having a quiet drink in the corner of the bar, enjoying the solitude. Having Kaiia in his bed was pleasant, but really, he needed a break. The woman seemed to be insatiable!
A sudden flurry of wings made him look up, and his heart lurched as he recognized Sara's owl, Equinox. He took the letter attached to its leg, and unrolled it, wondering what she wanted. He was getting tired of having his hopes raised then dashed by her half-approaches that always ended in retreat. He'd already decided that now, he would be moved by nothing, short of a declaration of undying...
His mouth fell open slightly as he read the letter. This was what he'd hoped for so desperately. He closed his eyes for a moment. This was what he'd been waiting, hoping for. Finally, she had realised that they were meant to be together.
He pulled a quill from his pocket (self-inking) and began to write.

Equinox swooped down towards her mistress, still seated on the rock. She landed beside her, and stuck out her leg, waiting for the new letter to be taken. The Letter: My love,
There will never be a time when I don't welcome your words. Of course I want you back in my life. I always have.
There is nothing to forgive. You needed time to think, to remember how things were between us. They will be like that again, I promise. I love you so much that words are inadequate to express it.
When can we be together? Where? Just tell me and I will be there.
With all my love
Rab
Equinox flew in once again, landing on the same table, holding out her leg. Rab,
I have the rest of the afterrnoon off. I don't have any classes. Any chance we might be able to have a drink? The Hogs Head?
Love Sara

Rab sat watching the window, drumming his fingers impatiently on the scarred wooden table. At last, the owl flew back in, and landed beside him. Quickly, he opened the letter, and smiled as he read it.
A few minutes later, he tied his reply to the owl's leg, and ruffled the feathers on its head. "You've worked hard today, my friend," he told her with a smile.
As the owl flew away, he got up and walked over to the bar, rapping on it loudly with his fist. "Service! I need my room made up immediately. Clean sheets and blankets. And perhaps this time you could sweep the dust out of the room, not under the bed!"
It would be extremely distasteful to entertain Sara on sheets that had only last night enveloped Kaiia! He paused. He would have to let Kaiia know that their affair was over. An unpleasant task, but really she had just been a distraction, satisfying a purely physical need. There was no feeling between them.
It seemed like an eternity stretching before him until Sara came to him. He walked to the door, and went outside, to watch for her approach.

Sara suddenly appeared in a flash oflame outside the pub. She brushed herself off, then looked up at the pub. Rabastan was waiting outside. She smiled, then walked toward him. Her heart fluttered, and she felt that now familiar prickling in her eyes, signalling tears. "I'm so sorry for what I've put you through," she murmured, before she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him, deeply.

Rab was slightly startled by the sudden flash of flame, but seconds later he was pulling Sara into his arms. He shook his head at her words. "There's nothing to apologise for. It's all forgotten." He could hardly believe it, Sara was here, in his arms. He bent his head to meet her kiss, feeling her tongue slide against his. All the years he'd spent without her faded, as he ran his hands up her body, to bury his fingers in her hair.

Sara sighed as she felt his hands sliding up her body, warming her skin up slightly. Even after all these years, he was still able to do that with just a touch. It was incredible, to be close with him again. The only man she'd ever really loved. Every man after, she sort of felt sorry for, they had to try and compete with a memory. But now, the memories were reality, as all she had felt for Rabastan came back in force. After a few long moments of kissing, Sara pulled back to look at him. A smile on her face, and her amber eyes dancing. "I've missed you... soooooo much."

Rab felt Sara's body heat up under his hands. He groaned quietly; it was so long since he'd felt that, no other woman had been able to match her. It was only with her that he felt complete. Without her, there had been a constant feeling of emptiness.
"No more than I've missed you," he assured her. "All those years in Azkaban, it was the thoughts of you that kept me sane. It calmed me. The Dementors left me alone."
Looking down at her face, he realized with a pang just how much he'd missed seeing the fire glow in her eyes.

Sara smiled as he spoke. "I love you so much. I'm glad I helped you out in that place, so that you coul dcome back with even the slightest bit of sanity," she teased.

Rab smiled, and kissed Sara again. "None of it matters now. You've come back to me, that's all I care about." He enveloped her hand in his, and began to lead her towards the inn. "You said you would have a drink," he said casually, then looked down at her. "Do you want to drink in the bar... or would you prefer room service?" he asked, smiling.

Sara smiled against his lips. He affected her so much more than any man ever had, or could. They walked toward the pub, and she smiled as he spoke. "Hmmm.... Room service," she replied, looking up at him, a smile on her face, and a glint in her eyes.

At Sara's answer, Rab smiled again. "I was hoping you'd say that," he said, leading her through the bar, to the stairs that led up to his room.
OOC: continued in Rab's room
