Justin grinned as she saw the confused look on Frankie's face. He shook his head and turned his eyes to professor Pettigrew as she began to speak. Everything she said sounded complicated and it made Justin frown. He knew he'll manage the potion anyway, but it was going to take alot of thinking. As she finished, Justin followed Frankie to the ingredients cupboard, gently poking her side. "I said that you look brilliant" he muttered quietly in her ear. Frankie just stared at him with a small confused frown for a moment. "Er thanks. I think." she said uncertainly. She still didn't understand what he meant. She looked at him a little more closely, her potion ingredients temporarily forgotten. He looked different. Was it his hair? Had he grown? She wasn't sure. He looked older. Had he looked liked that since the beginning of term and she'd just not noticed? "Did you change your hair?" she asked curiously. She looked over his shoulder as the door opened and watched Sophia come into the classroom and walk over to Professor Pettigrew. "Your little friend is here." she said nonchalantly and turned back to her potion ingredients. Pushing her bag higher up on her shoulder she turned and headed over toward the girl that seemed immersed in her work. Seeing Justin sitting next to her she smiled brilliantly and touched his shoulder as she walked past him toward the other side of the girl, merely nodding and smiling politely at her before pulling out her supplies. Now...what to make... She pulled out her potions book and flipped toward the end. An Elixir to induce Euphoria...could be interesting. She looked at the list of ingredients and headed over toward the supply cupboard pulling out all that she needed and then headed back toward her seat. By the time Frankie had returned to her seat Sophia had already made her way over to them. She smiled back thinly as Sophia offered her an equally empty smile. She didn't miss the hand she placed on Justin's shoulder and she rolled her eyes to herself. She was right, they had been flirting. She knew Sophia's type, alright. The kind that battered their eyes and all the boys swoon. She was a little disappointed that Justin would fall for that one. She concentrated on her potion instead, grinding her moonstones so hard that the pestle scratched and squeaked painfully against the bottom of her mortar.

Justin laughed at Frankie's confusement "What do you mean, you think? It was a compliment, silly." He shook his head as he reached for the ingredients. "No, my hair has always been like this, why are you asking?" he asked over his shoulder while looking for the moonstones. When he crawled out of the cupboard, his hands full, he saw Sophia. He also heard Frankie make a funny comment "Ha-ha, very funny. She's new, so I'm just trying to be nice. You should try it every once in a while" he teased her softly. He walked back to his desk and continued looking at Sophia's back. He didn't get a chance to admire it for too long, because she turned to walk towards him and Frankie had also returned to her seat. He lit the fire under his cauldron, when he suddenly felt a gentle hand on his shoulder. He spun around and anwered Sophia's smile. He watched her walk over to her desk, his eyes followed her to the cupboard and then back to the seat again. He filled his cauldron with water and started powdering the moonstones. His mind was powdering his thoughts. He looked over at the two girls, while cutting the peppermint and squeezing the hellebore roots. One of them didn't even know he existed in a different level than a friend and the other.. well it was too soon to tell, wasn't it. i have to concentrate on the lesson he told himself when he threw 2 pieces of peppermint and 1/3 of moonstone powder in the kettle and started to stir it.

Frankie shrugged, still studying Justin's hair. "It just looks different somehow. You look different. Kind of...maturer." she said with another shrug as she followed him back to their seats.
Frankie snuck a sideways look at Justin as he prepared his ingredients and she noticed the confused expression on his face. She wondered what he was thinking about. Probably Sophia. Sophia had sat herslef next to Frankie and she had to stop herself from groaning. She didn't seem to be doing the same potion as the rest of the class. In fact she was just thumbing through her potions book with a contemplative expression on her face. Whatever. Frankie returned her attention to her own work, working through the instructions quickly and deftly. Before long her potion was yellow and simmering gently, giving off a potent cloud of smoke. She extinguished her bunsen and stared into the smoke, waiting for it to dissipate.

Aidan sighed as he worked on his potion. He just couldn't seem to concentrate today. He had a bad feeling that he'd got the clockwise and anti-clockwise stirs mixed. As he waited for the stated 20 minutes, he looked around at the other students, caught Alycya Weasley's eye and gave the head girl a nod. He knew they needed to get together for a meeting soon; being head boy looked like it was going to take up a lot of his time this year.
He looked back at his potion. Well, it was the right colour; and when he took a sniff, it definitely smelled like raw meat. His inner wolf growled softly at the enticing odour, and Aidan had to grin to himself.
He gave the potion its required stirs, then settled back to wait again.

As she walked back to her seat she thought she saw Frankie looking at her in a not all together friendly way and it puzzled her. She had been nothing but friendly to the girl hadn't she? Maybe it was the thing with Justin...but honestly even if she did like him, not saying that she did of course, but even if she did she just met him. Her mind was concentrating so much on why she was getting those looks that she wasn't paying any attention to where she was going as she tried to squeeze through the aisle and tripped on the foot of the bench. She watched in horror as one of the ingredients, an unstable one at that, fell off the pile in her arms and toward the ground. Hurriedly she stuck out her foot with her natural fast reflex and the bottle fell onto it. She lifted her foot off the ground, kicking the bottle back up, and caught the top between her index and middle fingers which weren't gripping the pile for dear life.
Without looking at anyone, and praying no one had seen what had happened, she slid into her seat and put the pile of ingredients on the table, setting the bottle she had caught so easily gently before her. Her face bright red, she started following the instructions to make the Elixir which was easier than what she had thought it was going to be.

Emilia finished writing down the names of people who had been absent this lesson and raised her eyes from the desk to look at the clock. The lesson was almost over. She hadn't notice how fast it had gone by. She let out a sigh and stood up. "The class is almost over, so I want you all to come to my desk, grab a bottle and fill it up with your potion, whether it's ready or not and write your name on it. After you've done it, return the bottle on my desk. You will be graded on the result and your homework will be posted on your house notice board." She watched as the students started approaching her desk, keeping an eye on them to make sure that every one took a bottle.

Aidan went up and collected a bottle. He normally enjoyed potions, but his mind just wasn't on it today, so he was glad the lesson was just about over.
He filled and labeled his bottle, and took it to Professor Pettigrew's desk, before returning to clean up his equipment. At least they didn't have to worry about homework immediately, he thought, as he packed up his books.

Justin kept stirring his potion. He looked at Frankie and saw her glaring away from her potion. He looked in the same direction as her and saw Sophia. She looked confused. No wonder, he thought to himself. There was no reason why Frankie was looking at her the way she did. He watched Sophia almost drop her supplies and was surprised about her reflexes. Her movements were really smooth. He couldn't figure out why she looked embarrassed and kept her head down. He returned back to his potion just in time to see the smoke rise. He put out the fire from under the cauldron. He looked back at both Frankie and Sophia and smiled to himself. They both looked absolutely gorgeous and they both had different qualities that appealed to him, But Frankie wasn't interested him. He knew he had to get it through his thick scull. He walked up to the desk, grabbing a bottle. He poured a bit of his bright white potion into it and returned it to the professor. Flashing her a smile he wrote his name on the bottle and went back to his desk. He packed up his things before turning to Frankie "See you, babe." He walked towards the door. Suddenly he stopped, took out his notebook and ripped a page out of it. He wrote Meet me in the dungeons before DADA. x He conjured it, so it turned into a paper bird and sent it onto Sophia's desk. He flashed her a smile and left the classroom.

Not to bad Standing up she walked over toward the professors desk and picked up an empty bottle before heading back to her desk. Feeling definitely happy at what she had made she poured some into the bottle and stoppered it. Pulling out her quill she wrote her name in an elegant flourish and headed toward the professors desk, setting her advanced potion down with a smile and walking back to her seat. She looked up as she heard Justin talk to Frankie and continued to pack up her bag. Her attention was caught by a small paper bird that landed in front of her, fluttering its wings and she smiled. It was so cute. Picking it up she almost didn't want to open it but with a sigh pulled open a side causing the paper to stop it's charm. Seeing what was written she turned around and smiled at Justin with a nod. Looking at Frankie she stood up and smiled, "I'll see you later," she said friendly before turning from the table and heading out the door.

Alycya smiled, bottling up her potion. It looked right, well she had made it before. She put her name on the bottle, then walked up to the front, placing the glass bottle on the professor's desk. She gave the Professor another smile, then walked back to her place, cleaning out her cauldron and packing up. She gave Aidan a smile, and a wave, then made her way out of the room.

Frankie was already bottling her finished potion when the Professor called them all to finish. She wrote on the bottle in neat block capitals and took it swiftly to the front desk, not making eye contact with anyone. The others were all busying themselves with their bottles and books. She began to clear away her things and nodded at Justin as he said goodbye. "Babe"? She hated it when he called her that. She shook her head with a slight smile. She heard a fluttering sound from behind her and saw the paper bird fly into Sophia's hands an the smile that followed her reading it. Frankie's gaze zoomed to Justin who was standing in the doorway smiling back at Sophia. Frankie rolled her eyes. He was sending her notes now? It was so juvenile. She nodded with a forced smile when Sophia said good bye and then followed behind her a few seconds later.
