As you walk into the classroom, you see professor pettigrew sitting behind her desk, staring blankly out of the window. There is a board next to her. On it you can read Potions
Draught of Peace
Stay quiet and get out your notebooks

Janie walked into the room for her first class back. Her eyes fell on the Professor. She'd heard about Professor Pettigrew, and - well - she thought she looked like a pushover. Janie shrugged and took a seat, taking out her books and writing stuff. She looked around. She'd NEVER been first in the class before!

Frankie arrived in the dungeons at a reasonable time and found she was only the second person to arrive. she instantly felt self-concious. She hated arriving early or late because it meant people would notice her. She smiled awkwardly at Janie; the new Slytherin Prefect and took a seat in the middle of the classroom. Sitting right in the middle often meant being overlooked, which is how she liked it.

Aidan walked into class, and glanced at the blackboard. Well, at least it was something interesting. The instruction to stay quiet suited him for once. He was feeling extremely distracted at the moment. As head boy he knew he should be paying a bit more attention to what was going on, but with Zach in London, testifying at Ceallach's trial, it was hard not to let his mind drift, wondering how his twin was doing.
Aidan nodded at the other students already in the class, and took a seat near the back.

Alycya wandered into the classroom, and took a look around. She smiled at her Head of House, Professor Pettigrew, but the woman seemed to be in a daze. She felt sorry for her really. Everyone knew the friendship that was between her and Professor Walker. Now Walker was gone, it would have to be taxing on the Potions Mistress. She sighed and wandered over to Aidan, sitting beside him, and giving him a slight smile, taking out her books and laying her head down on the on the desk. Eugh - all she wanted to do was sleep these days. Nothing else to do. Sleep was less depressing then being awake, and remembering what was going on.

Justin staggered into the classroom, trying to gain his breath. He sighed in relief, seeing that class hadn't started yet. "Sor.." he started, but then his eyes landed on the blackboard and he closed his mouth quickly. Apparently the professor was in a foul mood today, it was better not to irritate her. He could only imagine, how hard it must be for her. He let his eyes run over the class. There was a dark haired girl, who he recognized from the train. A prefect, Janie probably if he remembered correctly. At the far back he saw Aidan and Alycya. He wasn't really surprised, since they were head boy and head girl. He nodded subtly to them. His eyes fell on Frankie the last. She was sitting bang on in the middle of the class. It made him grin, Frankie always knew how to be akward. He landed on a seat next to her and mouthed 'You look brilliant' to her.

Emilia came out of her daze, as she head the sound of a moving chair. She raised her eyes and was surprised to see more than one person in the class. She couldn't believe she hadn't heard them come in. She let her eyes run over the pupils and recognized a slytherin, three ravenclaws and one gryffindor, all of them prefects. She cleared her throat "It's nice to see you all" she forced herself to smile. "I'd like to congratulate you, Alycya" she turned to the gryffindor "you'll do a great job, being head girl." She got up from her desk and walked in front of it, leaning against it. "Now, in todays lesson, we'll be making the Draught of Peace" she pointed to the board. "If I could ask you to get your notebooks out." She waved her wand, which started writing woards on the board, keeping her eyes on the class.
First, light a fire under your cauldron. Fill 1/3 of it with water. Powder 3 moonstones. Cut 1 peppermint leaf into 6 even pieces. Squeeze all the juice out of your hellebore roots, adding 3 teaspoons of ordinary sugar. (1/2 pint needed) Throw 2 pieces of peppermint and 1/3 of moonstone powder in the kettle. Stir it 6 times clockwise and 9 times anti-clockwise. Your potion should obtain an orange color.Add the rest of the peppermints and half of the moonstone powder left. Wait 20 minutes. Your potions should now be light green and smell a bit like raw meat. Stir it clockwise 5 times. Wait 5 minutes before adding the rest on moonstone powder. Stir it anti-clockwise 3 times. Add hellebore syrup. Your potions should instantly turn purple and start sizzling. Carefully pour the rest of your moonstone powder in the kettle. Stir it clockwise 4 times and anti-clockwise once. It should be bright yellow now, extracting quite a bit of smoke. Put out the flame from under your cauldron and wait till the potions turns white and doesn't smoke anymore. Bottle it.
When she had finished writing, she cleared her throat again. "After you've bottled it, write your name on the bottle and bring it to my desk. I do ask you to remain silent. this potions will be in your final exams, so you have to be able to complete it yourself. If you do need help, I'm right here." She stood up straight "You may start" she turned and sat back behind her desk.

Frankie had already drifted off into her own little world so when Justin suddenly appeared seemingly out of nowhere she jumped in surprise. And he wasn't the only one. Several other students seemed to have materialised in the classroom too. "Oh." she said, though she meant to say 'hi'. The startlement had left her brain-mouth connections not quite working properly. But when Justin told her that she 'looked brilliant' she just looked flabberghasted at him. What did that mean? Brilliant at what? She was about to ask him what he meant when Professor Pettigrew began issuing orders for the day's class. She rolled her eyes at the 'no talking' rule and smiled apologetically at Justin. They couldn't chat now. With an annoyed shrug she gt up and headed towards the ingredients cupboards to collect the things she needed for the potion.

Justin grinned as she saw the confused look on Frankie's face. He shook his head and turned his eyes to professor Pettigrew as she began to speak. Everything she said sounded complicated and it made Justin frown. He knew he'll manage the potion anyway, but it was going to take alot of thinking. As she finished, Justin followed Frankie to the ingredients cupboard, gently poking her side. "I said that you look brilliant" he muttered quietly in her ear.

Sophia walked into the dungeons and looked around curiously. Her old school hadn't seemed anything like this. Looking down at a piece of parchment in her hand she counted the unmarked doors down the hall and stopped in front of what must have been the right room. Looking down at herself she smoothed out the hideous uniform they said she had to wear though she had gotten away with altering it, making it a tad bit more fashionable.
She folded the piece of parchment and placed it in her bag and then opened the door. Oh, great class has started. Looking around nervously she walked in and pulled out the other piece of parchment she was given. She hated being new but was determined to make an entrance. Tossing her long dark brown hair over her shoulder she walked confidently up to the front, her heels clacking against the stone as she walked and her altered skirt swaying with her hips. As she approached the professor she held the parchment out to her with a radiant smile and said in a strongly accented English, "I was told to give you this."

Emilia looked up from her papers as she heard someone speak in a strong accent. Her eyes fell upon a new girl she hadn't seen on the school. "Miss Herrera I assume" she addressed her. She had heard Sara talk about her with one of the other teachers. She noted to herself that the girl looked pretty, but she was going to be trouble, cause she was bound to be spoiled. Suddenly she remembered Kelly and got angry with herself. She was not to judge her like that. No one could've ever predicted that quiet miss Black would turn out like she did, so this girl should be given a choice to prove herself. Though she does look like a spoiled brat the little devil on her other shoulder whispered. Emilia took the piece of parchment from her, smiling. She read trough it silently and placed it aside. "How much have you learned about potions so far, miss Herrera?" she asked her. "Have you made it to the level we are learning today?" she kept questioning, pointing to the board where she had written the course of the potion.

Sophia looked at the professor with the same radiant smile though she figured the woman probably thought of her the same thing that most people did. Not that she cared it just meant people left her alone which was good enough for her. "Yes, Professor that wold be me." Hearing her question she glanced toward the board to see what the others were working on and stopped herself from grinning. She knew that alright. Her father had ensured she had learned to make that two years ago. It seemed like she would be far beyond the rest of them though that she was used to. She was always beyond the rest it seemed. She nodded confidently, "Yes, professor, I have already learned that."

Emilia smiled at Sophia as she spoke. She sounded confident and apparently she knew that. "What should I do with you then?" she asked her a rethorical question. "There's no point in having you make the potion again, since you'll probably finish it without any difficulty. I'll tell you what" she glanced at the clock on the wall, behind Sophia "I think you have enough time to whip up something of your own choice. Nothing too complicated, yet on 6th year level." She let her eyes run over the classroom. "You can take a seat next to miss Redfield" she pointed her finger at a spot on the other side of Frankie's cauldron, flashed Sophia another soft smile and lowered her head, to continue with her paperwork.

She felt bad for even looking at her, to be entirely honest. She got up from her desk and walked in front of it, leaning against it. She stood up straight "You may start" she turned and sat back behind her desk. Alycya took out her notebook, copying down the instruction for the potion. She'd done it before, but so far hadn't perfected it. Mind you, she hadn't actually TESTED it on anyone or thing! Standing up, she walked up to the ingredients cupboard, making sure to go past the professor. She gave her a reassuring smile, then collected her things, taking them back to her desk. Sophia walked into the dungeons and looked around curiously. Her old school hadn't seemed anything like this. Alycya looked up from her potion, which was going great - so far - as someone walked into the class late. Hearing the name, she instantly recognised it from Professor Templeton telling her about the new Gryffindor Prefect. Turning her eyes back to her potion. She crinkled up her nose slightly at the smell. Well, it smelt right. Meat. She could gag.

Sophia stood quietly in front of the professors desk and tossed her hair over her shoulder. It annoyed her how long it was but it would devastate her father if she cut it. Hearing the question the professor asked she just smiled again knowing she wasn't supposed to answer that. At her assignment which was different than the classes her face brightened, finally someone who understood her. She looked over her shoulder toward the girl that the professor pointed at and smiled, "Thank you professor." Pushing her bag higher up on her shoulder she turned and headed over toward the girl that seemed immersed in her work. Seeing Justin sitting next to her she smiled brilliantly and touched his shoulder as she walked past him toward the other side of the girl, merely nodding and smiling politely at her before pulling out her supplies. Now...what to make... She pulled out her potions book and flipped toward the end. An Elixir to induce Euphoria...could be interesting. She looked at the list of ingredients and headed over toward the supply cupboard pulling out all that she needed and then headed back toward her seat.
