Annie dropped down on the bench of the Ravenclaw table, something she would normally do with Bella... but she wasn't there to do it with her. She couldn't help but frown looking at the new headmistress, Kildara was gone and now this woman was there. She didn't evn want to know about that woman.

Frankie made her way down the aisle between the Ravenclaw and Slytherin table, giving Anastasia a wide-berth and sat several spaces away from her. She deliberately looked the other way, not wanting to make eye contact. Annie had been dating that Randolph boy: the one arrested as a Death Eater, and she wasn't quite sure about her house-mate's involvement in the horrors of last term. It was better to be safe than sorry.
She glanced at the staff table and wasn't surprised to see new faces, especially the woman who now sat in the Headmistress's chair. She watched her for a short while, noticing how confident she looked. She had a look about her that suggested she was probably firm but fair, and definitely not one to cross. That was ok. Frankie didn't intend on making any waves. She was quite happy not to be noticed by anyone, which just made her new position as prefect even more grating. She looked down at her shiny new badge and sighed with disdain.

Finally, Professor Templeton stood in front of the school.
"Welcome to a new year. To the new students, welcome, and I hope your time here is as enjoyable as the older students' has been. To everyone else, welcome back. The last year here bought with it much death and destruction. This year, I am hoping you will all let me help work through it all. I understand many of your friends are no longer with us, and I am in no way, trying to make you forget them, just honour their spirits.
I also understand, there are some that were on the opposing side that have returned this year. I would ask you please, DO NOT give them a hard time. They are suffering just as you are, having lost friends, and family.
You may find my approach a lot different to the late Professor Snape's. I am, in general, a little stricter. I'm older, and not as flippant. But, I am approachable. So, if any of you have problems, my door is always open.
There are just a few small things I have to touch on, before you can eat. I'd like to congratulate Ravenclaw, Aidan Fischer, and Gryffindor, Alycya Weasley, on their appointments as Head Boy and Girl. Also, I'd like to congratulate Professor Blackthorn on her appointment as Head of Slytherin House. I would also like to welcome the new History of Magic Professor, and Head of Ravenclaw, Professor Duran. May we wish them luck.
Well, that's all. May the Feast begin."
Professor Templeton sat, and the tables were suddenly laden with food.
