Justin smiled at Sophia "I'm pretty good at Transfiguration yeah, but everything that involves earth comes juat naturally" he paused for a moment "I guess it's more like something I was born with." He took a deep breath and looked back at her "Not many people know about it, but I'm an elementalist." He knew it sounded wierd, so he decided to explain a bit further. "What I mean is, I don't want people to know, because they might think that that's why I'm so good in Transfiguration. It's not. I mean, it is, but there's also a lot of hard work included, cause most of the things we do, don't always include earthy objects." He sent her an apologetic smile. Then he noticed professor Hedwig coming towards them. "Morning, professor." He listened to Sophia's soft voice as she spoke. He was drawn to her more and more by the minute, but her thoughts were stuck with Frankie, whether he liked it or not. So he was pleasantly surprised when Sophia landed next to him and took his hand. He felt a warm wave flow through his body, but he wasn't given any time to ponder about it, since Sophia pulled him along. As he passed the professor he smiled at him apologetically and shouted over his shoulder "New girl. Too much energy." Sophia pulled Justin into the Paddock and stopped as they stood in the middle of the field. "Too much energy? Ay dios mio. This is nothing," she laughed lightly and looked around the paddock. Suddenly she realized she was still holding his hand and she let go, blushing slightly, "OH, lo siento. I am sorry. I just get a bit excited." Looking around again she saw a tree stump and walked over toward it, practically skipping and sat down, not really caring whether she got anything dirty or her shoes sticking in the mud...or anything really. She loved being outside and with animals. They never judged, they loved unconditionally as long as you took care of them. She smiled at Justin and responded to his earlier comment, "Well..your secret is safe with me. Besides, we all have our little gifts. Some just use them and others do not." She looked at him curiously and smiled again, "Will you show me something else?" She was curious now, he had done it without a wand, she had never seen that.

Frankie ran breathlessly down to the Paddock and straight through the open gate. Her eyes fell on Professor Hedwig who just grinned at her and shook his head. Good, he wasn't angry. She smiled sheepishly and looked around to see that there were only three other people in the the Paddock anyway. She waved at Alycya. She didn't really know her that well yet, but she was the Head Girl and so Frankie would be seeing a lot more of her. She seemed nice enough. She caught sight of Justin talking to a girl she didn't recognise and wandered over to them. Frankie wasn't the most observant of people at the best of times but she raised an eyebrow as she observed the body language they were both exhibiting. Justin seemed almost bashful. "Hi." she gasped, still out of breath. "Where is everyone?" she asked her friend, glancing at the brunette with a shy smile.

Justin laughed as Sophia spoke. He could not understand half the things she said, but he liked the sound of her voice. When she blushed, his grin grew even wider. He liked it when she held his hand, because her hands were soft and warm. He watched her walk over to the stump and sit down. She looked so adorable and innocent. Just like a little child who was let out to play for the first time. When she asked him to show her something else, he felt flattered. Someone was actually interested in what he could do. Unfortunately he didn't get a chance to respond, because he heard a familiar voice from behind him. He turned abruptly to face Frankie. "Hi, stranger. Howcomes your late?" he let his eyes run across her features. She hadn't changed at all over the summer, yet there was something different about her. He couldn't make out what it was. "I guess that most people are dealing with prefect duties or something." He noticed Frankie looking at Sophia. "Oh, Frankie, this is Sophia" he turned from one girl to the other "she's in the same year as we are, but in Gryffindor."

Frankie smiled and nodded at Sophia. "Hi, I'm Frankie." she said. "A new Gryffindor, huh? Good, they're a bit thin on the ground this year. Where have you transferred from?" she asked, noticing the girl's tanned skin and dark eyes. She looked European. Spanish or Italian or something like that. She had a definite Latino look about her that seem rather exotic against the British countryside. Her suspicions about Justin's body language increased. Frankie could see most boys falling for her. She hooked her arm through Justin's, a territorial move that surprised herself.

Sophia smiled at Justin, enjoying his company, when another girl walked up. She hid her disappointment well that she wasn't going to see any more tricks and smiled a friendly smile at the girl. Hearing the conversation between them and the way that the girl looked at her made her slightly uncomfortable, as if she had overstepped her bounds except...well s he hadn't done anything. Finally getting an introduction she stood up and smiled, refraining from the usual handshake or...god forbid...cheek kiss, her mother insists on. They seemed a trifle tacky. "Hello, I am Sophia...obviously," she said in her thick Spanish accent. She smiled and nodded in accent as she brought up her house, "I seemed to have noticed. Where have they all gone? I do not like the thought of being by myself..." Actually she liked the idea very much. Being by herself meant she could do a lot of things that she wouldn't be able to with others around. "I am from Espana. Spain," She smiled proudly and sat down on the stump again watching as the girl took Justin's arm.
"Oh, I am sorry. I was not made aware that you two were dating," she smiled friendly wanting to prove that she had no intention of doing anything. Especially because he seemed to be THAT type. Though...it would have been interesting... She pushed the thought aside and smiled up at Frankie.

Frankie choked on her own laugh and quickly unhooked her arm from Justin's. She shook her head and laughed loudly. "Oh god, we're not dating." she retorted, saying the word "dating" as though it was the most ridiculous thing she'd ever heard. Again, her own response surprised her. She looked at Justin, still laughing and punched his arm feeling slightly embarrassed. "Lord, no, we're just close friends." she added, a little less zealously.

Justin was a bit startled when he noticed a slight shadow run across Sophia's face. Was it just him or did she seem a bit uncomfortable. He listened quietly when she spoke. He just couldn't get over the fact how gentle her voice sounded. Suddenly he winced slightly. He hadn't noticed Frankie flung her hand through his. This was a surprise. She'd never done that before. He could feel that warm fuzzy feeling spread throush his body. For a moment there he thought he was gonna blush, but he got it under control and smiled at Frankie. Then he heard Sophia's comment and he couldn't help the blush returning to his face. It had been his dream for a couple of years now, to date Frankie. For a moment he thought that maybe Frankie had noticed him, but then he heard her laugh and his hopes came tumbling down. She had released his hand and he felt very akward. He opened his mouth to say something but nothing came to his mind. He stood there for a moment, trying to get his emotions back under control. He forced a chucle out of himself "Heh, us dating.. ridiculous.." he stared at his feet not knowing what to do next. He hadn't been this confused in a while. He brought his eyes back up to meet Sophia's and smiled apologetically, although he didn't have a clue what he was apologizing for.

Sophia sat on the stump and crossed her legs as she felt the tension build. Had she said something wrong? They both seemed kind of uncomfortable. Well no only Justin did...hmmm... She smiled at them both and looked around the paddock. "So what do you think we are going to study?" She said trying to steer the conversation away from whatever was making Justin uncomfortable.
Smoothing her skirt down over her legs she looked up at them both, not bothered by the height difference at all, and smiled. "Do you have horses here?" She hadn't had the chance to ask anyone that. She missed her lovely horses at home. She missed home. And yet she still had two more years, though technically she could leave at any time, but she had a desire to prove to her father she could handle being by herself. Especially since she was to take over his title. The thought made her stomach spin with both regret and nerves and she closed her eyes with a sigh in order to regain herself.

Simon idly listened to the students talking, a slight grin on his face. Teenagers and their hormones: always amusing. He stood up straight and turned to face them and was about to announce the start of class when his wand tingled in his back pocket. A look of sheer surprise plastered across his face he retrieved the wand stared at it expectantly. Almost immediately it shivered and out of its tip shot a dozen red sparks and a small silver dragon shot out. "I need you." It announced in a familiar voice. His face drained of colour and after a few seconds he turned to face this class. "I'm sorry...Everyone!" he called loudly, waiting for them to face him. "I'm very sorry but this class will have to be postponed. I'll post the new date on the Noticeboard." he told them quickly and sternly. He turned to leave then turned back to them. "Start reading up on Satyrs and Centaurs and think about the differences and similarities between them. We'll discuss it next class." he told them briskly before turning heel again and running across the field towards the castle.

Alycya just wanted the class to begin. Sure, no question this wasn't one of her favourite classes, but it never ceased to be interesting. So, when Professor Hedwig began talking, saying it would have to be postponed, and acting all wierd, a slim red eyebrow shot up to the middle of Alycya's forehead. Huh?! How odd! She shrugged, said goodbye and made her way back up to the castle behind a sprinting Professor!

Justin had opened his mouth to answer Sophia's question about the horses, when professor Hedwig spoke. Apparently their class was postponed. That was something new. Professor Hedwig hadn't yet missed a class, so this must've been important. He shrugged his shoulders and turned to both of the girls "I'll see you guys in potions, yeah." He smiled and turned to walk back to the castle. He needed to nip through the common room before the next class.

Frankie stared at Professor Hedwig in surprise. It wasn't until he'd finished his announcement and was running across the field that she turned back to Sophia and Justin, shrugging. "Well that was weird." she commented watching Alycya follow the Professor out of the Paddock. "What do you suppose that was all about? What was going on with his wand?" she asked turning back to the other two.
