Professor Walker's Office

[Kitania Walker]

As you are invited in you see red and black walls decorated with Eastern symbols and letters. A Japanese screen, elegantly hand painted with mocking birds sits in one corner and Professor Walker's desk in made from finely polished red cherry wood.
Her room is full of intersting swords and hand weapons like those you would expect to see in marshal-arts movies. On her desk sits a finely pruned bonzai tree and in the middle of the room sits a water fountain, water bubbling serenely over rocks and pepples. You feel completely at ease.

Emilia hesitated when she stood outside Kit's office. She really should've gone to her office and figured out a soft way how to say everything, but she didn't. She felt Kit needed to know what had been going on. Next one would be Dara. She couldn't believe Kit was more of a priority to her than a person she had sworn to protect with her own life. Then again, Dara didn't care about her family and values, as Kit did . She took a deep breath and knocked on the door, trying to manage a smile, though she felt like anything else but smiling.

Kit had been sprawled across one of the huge beanbags when the knock came at the door. She as exhausted. James and Kaiia had completely worn her out and right now her ofice was the quietest place she could find. The students and other teachers were still at the Ball so she looked up in surprise at the rapping at the door. Who on earth could it have been?
She got to her feet, groaning a little. Her body was aching a little, unsurprisingly. She pulled the door open and did a double take when she saw Emilia standing there.
"Oh my god!" she cried, flinging herself at Emilia and hugging her. "Where have you been?! I thought something had happened to you. Dara hasn't said anything. What happened?" she asked, her voice full of concern as she pulled her old friend into her office.

Emilia was taken aback, when Kit grabbed her in her arms. Her smile broke and she started sobbing. As she was pulled inside the office, she pulled herself away from Kit and looked at her. She looked nice. The exact opposite to Emilia. Her eyes were red from constant crying and she had dark bags under her eyes. Her hair hadn't seen a comb for weeks, so they were falling down on her face like straws. Her hands were covered in scars and bruises and on her right hand was a roughly tied bandage, which showed a bit of some dark mark. She took Kit by her shoulders and gazed into her eyes "Mum and Sylvia are dead. Dad and Lucia are in St. Mungo's." She paused for a moment and continued, before Kit could interrupt her "Tyson Prewett was killed along with all his family and a few other wizard families in their little village in Scotland. It was covered up, because the ministry doesn't want to admit that there is something or someone more dangerous going around than You-Know-Who ever was. Also Aldronus Murrington, the head of magical beats burreau has been missing for a while now." As she finished, she let go of Kit and walked to the window. "Now she's here, love. Here, to take revenge on the world."

Kit was completely taken aback when Emilia burst into tears.
"Emilia..." she began but Emilia was hysterical. She was a mess. She looked like she'd been mauled by some ferocius creature and left for dead. When she announced that the Pettigrews were dead Kit gasped in horror, her hand flying to her mouth and covering it.
"But who..." once again Emilia just continued talking. Kit was just shaking her head as Emilia listed more and more deaths.
Finally as Emilia walked away and stared out of the window Kit stared at her, a terrified expression on her face.
"They're here? The one killed...everyone? How did they get in? Dara has this place locked up tight. Only staff or students can get in." she said, her voice shaking. She knew what it meant but didn't have the heart to say it out loud.
"Emilia..." she said softly "...please tell me this isn't what I think it is."

Emilia turned back to Kit. "Kelly is here and she has learned new tricks." She took a seat on a beanbag. Her face turned up to Kit. "You need to understand everything. Once I'm gone, there has to be someone, who can protect others and while I'm around, you have to be aware of the danger you're in." She closed her eyes, waiting for Kit to sit down. As she opened her eyes again, she looked inti Kit's eyes. "Kelly is silently taking revenge on everyone who have hurt her. She started with me, because everybody else were out of reach at that time. She killed my mum and drove my dad insane. They never found her body, so I couldn't have a funeral. Sylvia was the next one to go. She had trouble finding Lucia, so her family managed to escape and she put up quite a fight. She's in St. Mungo's, cause her own curse backfired on her. When I found out, I knew exactly who was behind it, since Kelly had disappeared from school. I decided to start following her, but I was always a step behind her. I almost got her in Scotland. We had a duel and she won. But she didn't kill me. She told me, she wants me to suffer." Emilia's eyes flicked to her hand. Slowly she untied the bandage, to reveal a wolf shaped mark. "I don't know what it is, but I know it's not ordinary magic. And I know, that ever since I have this, no potions work for my illness. No matter what I do, every full moon I lose it completely." She located Kit's eyes again. "My parents died because of me and Tyson died because of Danika. I think her next victim's gonna have a connection to either Krysta or Dara." She gently took her hands and tried to give her a weak smile "She has to be stopped by any means necessary. She won't finish until she destroys herself and together with that others as well."

All the colour drained from Kit's face as Emilia said Kelly's name. She obediently dropped onto a bean bag opposite Emilia and stared into space as she began to explain.This couldn't be happening. How could the girl have killed so many and kept it so quiet? It was exactly as she had feared. It was exactly the reason she'd gone to Serena in the first place. Kit had insisted then tat something had to be one and they had done nothing except sed Kit to spy on Emilia.

Kit suddenly felt very angry towards Serena. They should have taken Simon's advice and bound Kelly's powers whilst they had the chance.
Her eyes widened as Emilia revealed the strange mark on her wrist. It sent a shiver down Kit's spine. It was like Voldemort all over again, only this time the Marks were not a sign of loyalty but that of owership, of Kelly's power over someone.
She loked up sharply when Emilia said that Krys might be Kelly's next target.
"Well we have to warn her!" she shouted, suddenly jumping to her feet. "We have to do something, we have to stop her!" she said, frustration evident in her voice.
"You shoud have gone straight to the Ministry Emilia." she told her, almost angrily as she headed for the door with her wand drawn.
"Are you coming to help me fix this or are you staying here to feel sorry for yourself?" she asked.

"I couldn't go to the ministry!" Emilia cried out to Kit. "I wanted to stop her myself. Maybe I was a bit selfish, but I thought I could take her. Would you ever thought, that a 17 year old child could be so powerful? That she would actually be possible of killing?" She tried to catch Kit's eyes, but she was already at the door. "Ofcourse I'm coming with you. I'll stand by your side, if you want me to." Her voice sounded weak. She didn't want to admit that Kit was right. It needed to be fixed and just talking bout it wouldn't help. She drew her wand and walked to Kit's side. "Where to?"

Kit hesitated at the door and looked back at Emilia.
"No one could possibly have known. This isn't your fault." she said in a softer voice. I don't know where Kelly's getting her power but I know you well enough to know you would have stopped her if you could. And your Mother wouldn't have gone out without a fight either." she said, remembering the stubborn woman with respect.
"Emilia, Kelly is lost to us now. She's killing people over some petty revenge. She's lost her mind. And she's using magic neither of us know anything about." she stopped and sighed. "I understand why you didn't go to the Ministry but we can't do this on our own. From what you say she's far too powerful, not to mention ruthless and unpredictable. If she's headed for either Krys or Dara she's got a hell of a fight on her hands but right now she has the upperhand. The question is do we go to Dara or Krys first?" she asked, looking to Emilia for ideas.

Emilia looked into Kit's eyes "I really am sorry." She did regret being stubborn and not thinking clearly. She hesitated for a moment. "I think we should go to Dara. Krys is at the ball, isn't she. I don't think Kelly'd show up there." Actually she didn't have any idea what Kelly would do. Kit was right, Kelly was lost to them. She had fooled everyone who had ever cared for her. On the other hand, Emilia felt like there was still something that could be saved. "Yeah, I think we should go to Dara. After you" she said, opening the door.

Kit nodded.
"I agree. I don't want to ruin Krys's night anyway. And Dara is Headmistress after all. She needs to know what's going on. She'll want to protect the students apart from anything." she said with a firm nod as she began to move through the door. Dara was a lot of things, but she was a good Headmistress.
"Do you think she's still in the Ballroom or shall we try her Office?" she asked.
