Krys sensed the disapproval the doctor felt and it annoyed her a little. In her opinion it wasn't this woman's place to judge her or Sebastian. Ok, the pregnancy wasn't planned and she was only 17, but she was of age. She was an adult in a strong relationship. She pursed her lips together a little, but remained polite. "Your office will be fine." she replied, trying to keep her tone even. Jocelyn nodded. "Come with me," she said, leading them over ot the lifts. They caught the next one to the second floor and walked down the corridor to Jocelyn's spanking new office. She walked in, closing the door behind them all, and sat behind her desk, motioning for them to sit. She sighed, having noted the change in the girl's attitude. She had a sudden feeling to explain herself. She looked directly at the girl. "I don't disapprove,"s he said firmly, knowing the girl would find it a shock. She knew how to gauge reations. Working as a nurse and Healer did that to you. "I was pregnant young, I know what you'll be going through. Okay, I don't know your personal situation, but still. This is just happening a lot at the moment, that's all," she said, hoping that they would believe her. "Anyway," she began again. "I'll need both of you names." She took out a sheet of parhment and a quill, dipped in ink. |

Krys held Sebastian's hand as the doctor led them to the lifts and up to her office. It looked like it had just been decorated and there was the slight after-scent of recently dried paint. The smell turned her stomach a little. She sat down when the doctor motioned to the two chairs and looked sideways at Sebastian.
The doctor's emotions had changed. There seemed to be a slight hint of empathy there on the doctor's part and general concern. Her next words confirmed it.
Krys relaxed as the doctor spoke, her sincerity was obvious. She smiled in return and nodded. She thought of Andrew and Ellie, and of course; Gabriella. The doctor was right. It did seem to be happening a lot.
She watched the doctor take the piece of paper out and she cleared her throat.
"My name is Krysta Khallindrae Hedwig." she announced. She looked at Sebastian, waiting for him to give his name.

Sebastian was pretty sure the only part of this day he would actually remember was leaving the hospital and the cold, fresh air hitting him. Otherwise, his brain, and body were in a state of awed shock. Squeezing Krysta's hand, he looked up at the mention of his name, "Uh..oh..Sebastian Morter.." He looked at Krys and shrugged, "Never bothered with a middle name" He replied, smirking slightly.

Jocelyn watched them both. They both looked extremely happy, but still utterly shocked. She wrote the girls name down. "What an interesting name. I like it," she commented with a smile. Then, she wrote the boy's name.
She looked up at them both. "Well, Krysta, if you don't mind, just to confirm, you know. I have to do a quick test. Nothing painful, nor invasive. We can do it right here, while you're sitting down even. Is that okay?"

Krys chuckled slightly at Sebastian and then turned back to the doctor and smiled thinly as she complimented her name.
"Thanks. It's kind of a hand-me-down." she told her.
Yeah. A three thousand year hand-me-down.
Her expression became serious and attentive as doctor Marquetta (that was the name on the door) talked about the test. She nodded immediately.
"Of course. Go ahead." she said confidently. It couldn't possibly be worse than being mauled by a Morlock after all.

Jocelyn smiled as Krysta said she could do the test. "Nothing bad, I promise you," she said as she stood up, taking her wand from her pocket. "Just stay still." She stood in front of Krysta, and pointed her wand at the girl's stomach. Smoke appeared and hovered for a moment, before beginning to form shapes. She smiled as the smoke disappeared. "Well, definately pregnant," she confirmed. She took her seat again, and looked at the couple in front of her. They were still young but seemed a lot more mature than the last one. A lot more able to deal with this.
"Now, comes the fun part. I'm presuming you are going to keep it?" she asked bluntly. Best to not beat around the bush with teenagers.

Sebastian smirked as the nurse mentioned Krys' name. Yeah, it's very original Taking her hand, the smile dropped from his face as the nurse, Jocelyn asked them if they were going to keep it. Coughing to ease the sudden silence, he looked at Krys, "Uh...yes"

Jocelyn watched the Sebastian's reaction this time. Krysta seemed to be rather confident about all this. She heard him cough, then answer 'yes'. Jocelyn nodded. "Okay then. Really, all I can tell you know is, eat healthily, and even if you're not really hungry, eat something, because no doubt your baby will be. They're always hungry. Try to keep excercising, but nothing too strenuous, nor life threatening." She turned and reached behind her for a vial of a yellowish powder. "This is for morning sickness, if it happens. Mix a little with water and take it while you're experiencing the nausea. It should stop you from actually throwing up. If you find it doesn't work, then there's an Apothecary on Diagon Alley where we get our supplies. The woman there will be able to help you."

Sebastian stared blankly at her as she watched him. Flushing slightly at the stare, he returned it directly, listening intently as she told Krys the basics, he would be keeping an intense eye on her during this. Not that Krys had any ails eating....or excersising. Life Threatening business was something that seemed to come naturally. So god help him, he would make sure she kept out of it.

The blank, indignant expression Sebastian was giving the doctor made Krys stifle a giggle.
She managed to keep a serious face however and turned to look at the woman again.
"Yes. We definitely want to keep it." she confirmed in a calm, mature voice.
She listened to the advice the doctor gave and allowed herself a smirk when she mentioned food and exercise.
"That shouldn't be a problem." she told her, giving Sebastian a sidelong smile. she knew he mjust have found it as amusing as she had. Of course making she she didn't over do it was something that could easily be out of her control.
She took to bottle the doctor gave her with a nod and a small "thanks". She wrinkled her nose up at the sickly yellow colour, but the idea of banishing her sickness was definitely appealing.
"Thank you doctor." she said, her voice quiet. It was beginning to sink in. She was pregnant. Something was growing inside her. Something that had to be looked after, nourished and protected. She looked down at the bottle in her hands, twisting it nervously around and arund between her pale fingers.
"Do I need to come back and see you again?" she asked. She didn't know how this worked, what to expect.

"We should go now." she said in a low, firm voice. Something was wrong. Horribly, terribly wrong. Something was coming. Something horrific. She had to get out of the hospital and back to the school. She didn't know why...she just knew she had to be there.

Looking at Krys, he met her eyes squeezing her hand. When she spoke, she stared at her, feeling the foreboding feeling of danger, "Krys.." He warned opening the door slowly, "School?" He asked firmly. Her job was a job, but it did not have to endanger her life...and their child's. Closing the door behind him he frowned, "Whats going on?" |

Jocelyn smiled at the couple and nodded to them both. "It was lovely to meet you both," she said sincerely. She stood as they did. The atmosphere seemed to have changed. The air was thicker. She nodded to them as they left the office. She sighed, finished filling out the consultation paperwork, then packed up.
Finally, she left her office for the second time that day, made her way downstairs again, and apparated home.
