Non-Quidditch Flying

Alex smirked slightly as she headed out onto the empty pitch with her new broom in hand, after talking to Janie; things had seemed a little better but she still was a little frustrated however it was nothing that a little flying couldn't fix. She dropped her bag on the ground, mounted her broom then shot up into the sky in the blink of an eye; it seemed like she hadn't become any worse since not practicing over the past year due to all the drama and craziness.

I wonder if I spent enough time out here that I could fix all my problems, but really I doubt it since I'm kinda out here by myself

Will had been flying round and round one of the goalposts to see how dizzy she would get when out of one spinning eye she spotted a figure down on the pitch. As she watched they kicked off into the air and she strained to see who it was. It was this point that her body caught up with her head and she slipped sideways on her broom so that she ended up hanging upside down in a rather unflattering position. Her short sharp squeal was overtaken by insane giggle as she managed to ungracefully right herself.
Her snort and giggles continued as she flew in a rather meandering fashion towards the stranger.
"Oi you! Throw a bludger at me!" she yelled with a maniacal grin.

Where was all that odd laughter coming from? Needless to say Alex was a little bit creeped out since she hadn't noticed anyone out on the pitch earlier when she first flew up but yet there had to have been someone out here right? She swung her broom around three hundred and sixty degrees to notice a girl flying around the goal hoops like a maniac, Alex was definitely a risk taker but even she wouldn't do that since you could easily get hurt.

"Ahh you'll regret asking me that." she yelled back with a devilish smirk as she flew down and retrieved a bludger and a beater's bat; releasing the bludger directly at the girl, she shot back up into the sky, cluching the bat as tightly as she possibly could.

"Woo!" Squealed Will as she caught sight of the Bat and Bludger the girl had. She flew a rather wobbly lop-the-loop (somehow managing to stay on her broom) and flew off a few feet before floating side to side excitedly. Most people ignored her or shouted insults at her on the Quidditch pitch, but this girl seemed game for a bit of fun. It was about time someone interesting showed up. Hogwarts had been so boring lately.

As the girl had managed to practically dodge herself out of the bludger's path, Alex's eyes practically bludged out of her head; never in her past 4 years of attending this school had she seen someone that was willing to practically risk their consciousness to be a showoff. She backed off slightly and sat back on her broom, swinging the bat as the bludger neared her face; oh there was no way that would destroy her good looks, that was practically all she had to go on here.

"Wow, I must say; you are definitely crazy to have even tried that." she replied, brushing some of her golden blonde locks from her face.

Willow's responding laugh was more like a gleeful cackle.
"That's the first time I didn't fall off!" she exclaimed then fell about laughing again. She in fact laugh so hard the she lost her balance and nearly fell off again, almost as though to demonstrate. This of course made her laugh even harder.
She suddenly became aware that the other girl wasn't laughing with her and was in fact giving her a rather uncertain look. She forcibly petered out her giggles and instead sat grinning at the girl who she could now see was a Slytherin.
"I'm Willow, but you can call me Will. Most people do. Well some people. Well my Dad does. Sometimes." she said rather quickly and in one breath. She sighed and continued to grin.

When Willow began to chuckle again and almost lose her balance on her broom, Alex raised her eyebrow slightly and then laughed a little bit; something about watching someone almost fall off their broom seemed to amuse her. "It's nice to meet you Will, I'm Alexandria but you can call me Alex, just because I perfer it; it doesn't sound as formal." she said with a slight roll of her eyes as she leaned forward slightly and shot through the sky, weaving back in and out of the goal hoops carefully before turning quickly and stopping in front of the other girl.

"Alex" Wilow repeated watching the girl fly around her. Alex is a good name. I had a Nifflewimp called Alex. But he got a cold. Well that's what Mum told me, but between you an me I think Alex was eaten by the Snotbogle next door." She said in a sad and serious voice." I never did trust that Snotbogle. No one else ever saw him, but I knew he was there." She added with a thoughtful nod.

"Nifflewimp? Snotbogle? May I ask what these creatures are Will, because I've not heard of them before." Alex asked before she flew around in a circle around the girl strictly out of boredom, it wasn't like she had easily gotten dizzy anymore since she had been used to flying around upside down in loops over the past year which seemed to definitely scare the Quidditch Captain while she attempted that during practice.

Will's eyes lit up when Alex asked about the animals she'd just made up but she resisted the urge to keep the ruse going any further. Instead she cackled again and swung her broom upside down and hovered in mid air, watching Alex zoom around.
"That's because I made them up. It's kind of a family joke." she grinned.
"You're on the Quidditch team aren't you?" she asked, remembering why Alex looked familiar. "I got kicked off the team in 3rd year. Professor Snape said I was a "liability"." she grinned harder. "It's not my fault Sam Hearne can't take a joke." She added ad then remembered that Sam was dead. Her grin faded. "Poor Sam." She sighed airily. "He was nice."

"Of course I am, Raven taught me what I know now, even how not to get distracted by your Quidditch Captain even if they happen to be ridiculously hot. Then again, I know what really went on with her and Danika.. those two were the best players Slytherin had in the longest time." Alex said with a slight grin then frowned slightly as she heard Will talking about Sam, she heard about him; it was a shame that he was dead. With that thought, she sped off and did several backwards loops through the air before jumping off her broom and landing backwards on it then continuing to fly around.

Will applauded loudly as Alex swooped around the pitch. She was really good. Then remembered she was upside down on her broom and subsequently fell off. Again.
"Argh! she squealed as she plummeted to the ground and landed with a loud cracking bump.
"Owwww." she moaned between more hysterical giggling. Her whole body was in pain, particularly her arm, which she'd landed on, but for some reason she found it hilarious. Maybe she shouldn't have drunk her own Cheer potion after all...

Alex flew down when she saw Will falling and landing on her arm, ooh she knew that injury all too well and could tell that the other girl was in pain. "Let me see your arm, I'll be very careful here don't worry." she said softly, kneeling down; she wanted to make sure that the girl would be okay although after a fall like that, she wouldn't be surprised if there were some other injuries.

Willow groaned as Alex began examining her arm. She knew it was broken, she could feel it. This was the 4th time this year. The nurse was going to kill her.
"Ohh, that's the last time I get dosed and then go flying." she wailed, a dopey grin still on her face. "Sorry about this. Don't suppose you could help me to the hospital wing could you?" she asked hopefully. She gave Alex what she hoped was a wining smile and giggled again.
