[Simon Hedwig]

Professor Simon Hedwig may spend most of his time in the castle grounds, but if you're lucky you may catch him at his desk. If you have questions about your class or homework you can come and talk to him here.
He is also very happy to help you with your pets should you be having problems. He is friendly and approachable so don't be shy.

Emilia knocked quietly on the door. She had no idea, what she was thinking, but she just had to see him. She had to see, if he really had returned.

Simon heard the knock at the door and looked up from the book he was reading. He frowned. He hadn't even met any of the students yet, he was surprised they'd be coming to see him already. He took his feet off the desk and stood up. Walking over to the door, he straightened his clothes and opened the door with a friendly smile.
The moment he saw who was on the other side the smile fell. He knew he'd have to bump into her sooner or later but he hadn't really been prepared for it.
Inspite of himself he couldn't help noticing how beautiful she still was. But that didn't erase the past. He looked at her, his eyes cold.
"Hello Emilia."

As the door opened Emilia's breathing stopped. He was standing there in the doorway. It was really him, in flesh and blood. She couldn't believe her eyes. She tried to smile, but seeing his eyes so cold, she pressed her lips hard together before talking "Simon, it is good to see you. I heard you were back, but I had to see it myself." She took a deep breath before continuing "So, how have you been?" She felt her hands getting wet. Why the hell was she nervous? She didn't know.

Simon just stared at her. Hearing her voice again was like a knife through his heart. What did she expect him to say? "I'm good, how's life been for you since you betrayed everyone who ever cared about you?"? He closed his eyes briefly before shaking his head.
"Well I'm here, you've seen me. Is there anything else?" he asked harshly. He couldn't allow himself to be nice. That would lead down a path he didn't want to go down.

Emilia looked at Simon, trying hard not to read his mind. She didn't want to see what he was thinking, but on the other hand, she really wanted to know. She kept looking at him, not saying anything. After a few minutes she opened her mouth "I am really sorry you know. I know you don't care and it's probably for the best, but I thought you should know. And you should be careful around Kelly. That's it I think. Guess I'll be seeing you around school more often now." She looked is his eyes. She wantes him to say something, anything, to let her know there was still a chance.

Simon was confused. Seeing her like this was something he wasn't used to. It had taken him nearly 4 years to get over her, but seeing her again brought up a whole platter of feelings. Feelings he kept well hidden. Krysta wasn't the only reason he'd learnt occlumency,
She seemed genuine in her words, but he just couldn't bring himself to accept it. He couldn't forget what she'd done, how much she'd hurt people...how much she'd hurt him. A tiny part of him wanted to take her into his arms and tell her it was ok, that he forgave her...but he didn't. He didn't forgive her.
"Don't worry about Kelly. We can handle her." he told her brusquely, before remembering that Emilia was a key part in their plan. That was Kit's problem now. He hadn't liked the idea anyway.
It briefly occured to him that getting close to Emilia would actually be easy for him considering her current attitude. He could probably get some information about Kelly out of her himself. But he just didn't want to be anywhere near her right now. It was too hard. It hurt too much just looking at her. Why did she have to be so damn beautiful?

Emilia kept looking at Simon "Erm.. Good that you feel so .. confident about Kelly" she couldn't find anymore words. She pushed her hair away from her eyes and let her tongue slide over her lips. She felt uncomfortable and nervous. "So, I guess I'll be going then. See you around school. She turned her back to him and slowly walked away.

Simon nodded, trying to be nonchalant. It was tough. He watched as she walked away, wanting to grab her arm and pull her back, but also relieved that she was going.
"See you around." he replied, swallowing hard. It took all his energy not to call her back; to just let her walk away. He watched as her mane of red hair disappeared around the corner and let out a huge sigh of relief. He sunk back against the wall, feeling exhausted. He knew seeing her again would be hard, but he didn't know it would be this hard.

Simon dashed into his office after dinner to grab a few things before he went to meet Elizabeth down by the paddock. He was looking forward to spending the time with her. Seeing the Unicorns was always lovely, but it would be extra special with Elizabeth there.
He began putting the things he would need into a hessian bag, tapping his chin thoughtfully. He was sure he was forgetting something.

Caitlyn turned the corner, a smile playing on her face as she made her way to the office door. She knocked and waited for for a few seconds before opening the door a little. "In a hurry for something?" She asked Simon as she saw him rushing around.

Simon spun around to face the door. He looked shocked to see her to begin with then his face broke into a smile.
"Caitlyn! Where have you been? You never returned my owl, I thought you'd changed your mind. How are you?" he asked, genuinely pleased to see her. Inside he was a little confused though. What about Elizabeth? He kind of felt like there was something happening there too. He hadn't forgotten Caitlyn but since he hadn't seen her for over a week he'd kind of assumed she wasn't interested.

Caitlyn smile grew as she saw Simon's own smild. She walked over to him and placed her arms around his neck. "You sent an owl? I never gotten one." She said starting to wonder what had happened to it. "I'm sorry love I have been a bit busy, but I'm here now." She said as she leaned in to kiss him.

A surprised noise escaped his throat as Caitlyn's hands went around his neck and her lips found his. He really hadn't seen this coming. They hadn't even been on their date and she was kissing him. He placed his hands over her forearms unable to decide whether he should be returning the kiss or not. Barely hours before Elizabeth had surprised him the exact same way and he was completely confused.
After four years alone he suddenly had not one, but two women in his life. They were both lovely, intelligent, fun to be with and beautiful. But Simon was not the kind of guy to string two ladies along.

He broke the kiss and laughed gently.
"Steady there, lady, I'm not that kind of boy." he said with a chuckle as his cheek flushed red. "I don't kiss on the first date...and we havent even had the first date." he joked.

He was stalling. He was overwhelmed. He was spposed to be meeting Elizabeth in ten minutes and he was here kissing another woman. He wasn't committed to either of them, there was no agreement at all, yet somehow he felt like he was cheating on both of them. No, not cheating exactly, but he certainly felt dishonest.

Caitlyn looked at him and felt her face turn a deep red. She looked at the floor feeling embarrased though was still smiling. "I'm sorry love, you're just so irristable." She said looked back up at him. "Well, we'll have to go on our long awaited date then. Are you busy tonight?"
