Professor Snape's Office

"Professor Snape? I'm Zach Fischer - this is my brother Aidan. We've brought our transfer papers and reports from Durmstrang." He exchanged a glance with his twin. As far as he could see, there was no sign of anything broken. He decided that the best approach was to act as if they hadn't heard anything. He turned on his most charming smile, and held out the papers in his hand.

"Yes. That's me," she laughed. "Lovely to meet you, Zach. Aidan," she said, holding her hand out to both of them in turn, smiling brightly. "Well, boys, care to come in and take a seat?" she asked, stepping aside and letting them through. She shut the door behind them and walked to her chair, sitting down, and looking at their papers. "So, you both seem to be up there. No wonder you're Ravenclaws. You're dad's an auror? Okay," she muttered, more to herself. "So, boys, tell me a little about yourselves. You are the first lot of the new transfers I've met. Oh, no actually I met Miss o Raghallaigh at the end of last term." That had been the only time she'd come into the school since being released from hospital. She was in so much pain that day. She smiled at them, giving them both their own attention.

"Well, we're NEWT students. We're doing the same courses except for Potions, which Zach takes, and Arithmancy, which is my subject." Aidan paused. He wasn't really sure what the Headmistress wanted them to tell her.

"We both played on our house Quidditch team - we're Chasers." Zach went on. "Oh - and we're registered animagi." He frowned slightly, hearing something strange in her tone when she mentioned their father's profession. Then she mentioned 'Miss o Raghallaigh' and the boys exchanged a slight grin.

Her smile widened when aidan mentioned Arithmancy. "Well, I'll be seeing you in Arithmancy then. I teach it. You'll have to put up with me being a bit grumpy in the first lesson. My class is getting a bit of a telling off," she said, almost apologetically. "Well, I suggest you both speak to Sam then. I'm pretty sure they're holding tryouts soon." She gave them both an appreciative look. "Animagi? Well, I'm impressed. I'm pretty sure there a few Animagi running around the school. The students are taking it upon themselves to teach themselves it. Okay. Well, I think that's all. Thank you so much boys for coming in and handing these in." She patted the papers. "I'll be seeing you around the school no doubt. And I'll se you, Aidan, in class. Thank you, boys. You may go," she said, giving them both individual smiles.

The twins got up to leave, exchanging that grin again. They'd already encountered one of the school's animagi! "Thank you, Professor Snape," Zach said as the headed for the door.

Once they were outside the office, with the door closed, Aidan grinned. "That wasn't too bad - but I'd like to know what was going on before we went in!"

Zach nodded. "Yeah, but I'm not going to be the one who asks her!" He looked around, trying to get his bearings. "This way." He set off along the corridor. "Let's find this Sam she mentioned. I want to find out about tryouts for the Ravenclaw team."

Kildara stood up as they did, watching them walk out of the office. She sighed, walking over to the cupboard that housed the smashed objects.
"You really need to learn how to control your temper, my dear," came the voice of Phineas Nigellus, from above her head.
"Shut up," she snapped. "Sorry. I have to get out of here," she said. She sighed, closing the door again, and walking out of her office, leaving behind the sniggering portraits. They annoyed the hell out of her.

[Caeleb Dracus]

Caeleb knocked on the door, a scowl on his face. The last time he'd been here was when Dara had miscarried and he frowned at the memory, a new lease of hatred for Kelly passing through him. She was why he was here after all.

Kildara looked up from her papers, as there was a knock on the door. She sighed as the portraits started bickering amongst themselves as to who it could be. She closed her eyes in annoyance for a moment, then got up and walked to the door. She opened it slowly, expecting an annoying student that had done something wrong. But, when she saw who it was, a smile lit up her face.
"Caeleb. It's good to see you. Come in," she said, standing back from the entrance and letting him in. She closed the door behind her and walked over to her desk, sitting on it. "What's up?" she asked, trying hard not to laugh at herself. What an idiot!

[Caeleb Dracus]

Caeleb remained stonyfaced, though seeing her face lifted his spirits somewhat.
"What's up?" he asked, his voice harbouring much inner anger. He ground his teeth together and clenched his jaw before continuing.
"Two big pains in my backide is what's up." he growled. He glared at a nearby painting. "What are you staring at?" he challenged the occupant who was watching him with distatste.

Kildara sighed. She pushed him into a chair, then sent each of the portraits another look, making them all shut up. She shifted on the desk, so she was in front of him, one foot on either side of his legs on the chair.
"Okay, so, what are these two pains? Just ignore them," she said, trying to get him to focus.

[Caeleb Dracus]

Caeleb scowled the the paitings again and turned his attention to Dara.
"Who do you think? Black and Hedwig. Hedwigh threw me into a brick wall nearly cracking my head open and little Miss Black gave me this little memento." he said angrily holding up his wrist to display the little wolf symbol Kelly had burned into his skin. "She gave me a message for you: said to say she'd be waiting for you." he growled.

Kildara's eyes widened as he spoke. She wanted to hold him and ask him if he was okay, but he seemed like he was in too foul a mood. She took his wrist to look at the symbol on his wrist then let go, almost throwing his hand back at him. It was on the same arm as his Mark. This was almost disgusted. He was marked by the one person she hated more than anything at that moment. There had to be a way to remove it.

When Caeleb told her Kelly's warning, she laughed. "And I suppose that was supposed to scare me. That girl has a lot to learn. Now, before we continue, why does it sound like you're mad at me?" she asked, turning serious.

[Caeleb Dracus]

Caeleb's face softened and he looked startled.
"Mad at you?" he asked, horrified. "I'm not mad at you, I'm mad at her...at them, Why would I be mad at you?" he asked distraught that he had made her think that. "I'm sorry, Dara. I didn't mean to take this out on you, I just want to smash their heads together." he apologised, feeling terrible. A flicker of a smirk crossed his face.
"I think I've managed to separate them, though." he told her triumpantly. "I told Black about Hedwig and Danika. From what I hear, after she knocked me out Hedwig took a cruciatus curse to the stomach from Black. They're not on speaking terms." he gloated.

Kildara softened and she relaxed a little as he spoke. When she saw the small flicker of a smile, she smiled. "Well, you just - never mind," she muttered. "I'm being silly."
When she listened to him continue, her smile widened. "Well done. I'm impressed. It's probably the best thing. Separate Kelly from her guardian. Well done Caeleb," she said, giving him a full smile, one that reached her eyes. She hadn't smiled like that in a while.

Caeleb smiled to match hers. It felt good to please her. It's what he lived for.
"Thank you my lady." he said with a wicked smile. He wanted to kiss her. He wanted to take her right here on her desk, but he remained professional. He looked at his hands for a moment before speaking again.
"I see you gave Simon Hedwig a job here." he commented. "I was thinking of signing up to his class to keep an eye on him. What do you think?" he asked.
