Chris grinned. "Maybe you can give me some tips. I'll never be good enough to get on a team, but I love playing Quidditch anyway, just for fun." He looked at Raven, thinking how pretty she looked, with her hair windswept, and a flush in her cheeks. "Though we should start with something a bit simpler than that trick you just did - the professors get so uptight when students half kill themselves doing flying tricks!"

"Well, I could always help you to become a great Quidditch player, its not difficult, though we'd have to spend a couple days a week together training out here. Depending on what position you're interested in playing, I'm a Chaser, and a Seeker and I usually spend at least 3 hours a day out here practicing" She said with a smirk playing about her lips.

"I usually play Chaser or Beater. It would be great if we could practice together. I've tried to get my brother to practice with me, but he's a Ravenclaw, he'd rather read books than play Quidditch. What time do you usually practice?" This was great; Chris could get some extra flying practice and spend time with Raven.

"I usually practice around 2pm, I never like practicing near sundown, even though its really nice out here, its slightly more challenging to see. I've practiced at 7pm before, trying to catch the snitch was a bloody nightmare. I couldn't see it, and I almost ran my broom into one of the goal hoops." Raven said, laughing.

Chris laughed. "I nearly did that once, but that was because I was... I wasn't paying attention." He didn't think he should tell her he'd been ogling her at the time of his near-miss. Not yet, anyway." He went over his timetable in his mind. He did have an afternoon free, on Thursdays, which he really should used for studying, with this being OWLs year and everything, but the fresh air and exercise would do him good, he told himself. "I can definitely make it on Thursday afternoons," he told Raven.

"Okay, meet me out on the pitch Thursday afternoon at 1pm, I'll have a Quaffle out here and we can get your Chaser skills up to almost as good as I am." She said and smirked. "Although I could never train you to be better than I am" She laughed.

Chris grinned. "I'll be there." He paused, hovering in the air on his broomstick. "I suppose we should be going back. Unless you want to fly over the forbidden forest or something. I keep hoping I'm going to see something interesting there, but I think the trees are too thick to see anything on the ground."

"Hmm, well its getting dark out, I wouldn't think you'd see anything at all over the Forbidden Forest anyways." Raven said, flying around in a circle for a bit. The truth was, that she didn't really want to go in the forest, it was the one thing that scared the hell out of her.

"Okay. Let's fly back to the pitch and put our brooms away. It must be almost dinner time anyway. Would you, um, like to sit with me at dinner?" Students sitting at other house's tables wasn't actually forbidden, but some people were uncomfortable with the idea.

"Um..sure. Are you sure that the Gryffindors would not have a problem with me sitting at the table since I'm a Slytherin." Raven said, then blushed slightly. She flew back towards the school waiting for Chris to follow her.

Chris followed Raven back towards school. When he caught up to her, he said, "Some of them might object, but I don't really care. I think this rivalry between our houses is a bit stupid, to be honest. Why shouldn't Gryffindors and Slytherins be friends?"

"Well I'll tell you why Gryffindors and Slytherins can never truly be friends, because Slytherin always believes it is the superior house in Hogwarts and they'll always believe that the school should only be for purebloods." She said, flying down and dismounting her broom, picking up her bag.

Chris nodded. "I know. When I was in First Year, I set a bunch of spiders on a Slytherin kid because he called me a Mudblood." He paused, waiting to hear Raven's response. If she was going to drop him for being muggle-born, he'd rather it happened than, say, at the Easter Ball!

"I find that term extremely derogatory, there's no need for people like me who are purebloods to call Muggleborns and Half & Half mudbloods. I never call anyone a mudblood, that's one word that whenever I hear someone use it, I feel somewhat sick" She said, walking towards the school.

Chris smiled, relieved that Raven didn't share the opinion of some of the other Slytherins. He walked towards the school with her. "Actually, I didn't know what it meant that time. But it was obvious from the way he said it that it was an insult, so I did the spider thing. Bella explained to me afterwards what it means."
