Krys moped into the kitchen, clutching her stomach. She felt hollow and sore. Not surprising considering how sick she'd been. Her stomach was most definitely empty and her sides ached from the constant heaving. Now she was starving. She made a beeline for the huge, American-style fridge and pulled it open, flooding the room with bright light. She chewed her lip as she studied its contents, trying to decide what it was she wanted. Her gaze passed over all the cheese, fruit, milk, ham, tomatoes and eggs. Nothing took her fancy. She grabbed a pack of carrots and stared at them thoughtfully, before closing the fridge. Placing them on the chopping board, she waved her hand at the utensils jar and immediately a grater and vegetable knife sprung to life, peeling the carrots and then cutting them into long sticks. Meanwhile she rummaged through one of the kitchen cupbaords. Her hand lingered on a jar of chocolate spread, and then finally grabbed a jar of peanut butter (crunchy of course) and headed back to the breakfast bar where the carrots lay waiting. Perching herself on one of the stools she unscrewed the jar of peanut butter and unceremoniously, took a carrot stick and dunked it in the jar, scooping peanut butter onto it. She stared at it for few seconds and then took a massive bite, chewing slowly and thoughtfully. A smile lit up her face. It was actually pretty good.
