[Sebastian Morter]

Sebastian smiled when he heard her gasp. "Quite the drama" He murmured against her neck.
"Not really" He said thoughtfully, "I'm pretty sure there was a ring as well...I actually think that was my mother's wedding ring..." He frowned, "I think the entire set is quite..magical but I'm pretty sure the pendant was made first and the other pieces were comissioned afterwards to complete the set." He smiled.
Sebastian smirked, "Well that's the thing....throughout my family's history...it doesnt add up." He sighed trying to find words to explain. "Every single time it's been documented it does something different...so either everyone was lying or this little gem fits it's user like a glove" Sebastian smiled up at her.
"I would tell you....but" He paused for suspense, "Alright...." He said finally, feigning grudgeng.
"My Great Aunt, Elyssa was deaf and she was given the earrings by her mother after she passed. My family split the set and inheritance so everybody got something when my great grandfather died. The earrings gave her her hearing back. Without them she couldn't hear, but she told me and my cousins bed time stories of how they talked to her. Ofcourse everyone thought she was just rattled by her own condition....but I think she was telling the truth." Sebastian paused watching her expression, "My Great-great-grandfather Albert had the bracelet. He was quite the ladies man...he got married over 6 times and had numerous illegitamete children" Sebastian's lips curled into a smile at the thought, "He gave his first wife, Mary the bracelet a few weeks after the rise of Voldemort. Both were in the ministry during a brawl, someone fired a Avada Kedavra at her, the spell hit the bracelet and rebounded hitting the man directly in the heart." Sebastian pulled her towards him "There's a lot more.....would you like to hear all of them?"

Krysta listened as Sebastian talked, his voice was casual but the more he spoke the more the images began to appear in Krysta's mind. She saw the earrings sparkling against the lady's ear, the joy on her face as sound found their way into her eardrums for the first time in her life. She saw the duel and the screaming voices around them, a flash of green and a man falling. She saw other things, things she didn't understand: a tall man in blue screaming, clutching his head as a woman stood over him laughing, sapphires woven in her dark hair.
Another image of a woman in black with a sickeningly familiar face cowering on the floor made her eyes dilate. Another woman knelt beside her, the pendant around her neck, a wand in her hand.

When Sebastian stopped talking the images faded. She blinked hard as though coming out of a trance. She looked at him, a fire blazing in her eyes. Around her neck the stone had changed. It glowed blood-red in the moonlight, reflecting in her eyes. She touched it a cruel smile crept over her face.
She faltered and blinked, her eyes returning to normal. The stone shone blue once more and a tiny moan left her lips.

Krysta stood up suddenly and walked a few steps away from him, leaning against the wooden barrier of the Pagoda. She stared at the water for a few moments before turning and looked at him, her waist resting against the barrier.
"Sebastian, you need to tell me everything you know." she said firmly. "Starting with where your parents were during the Battle of Hogwarts."

Sebastian half-laughed, "You really love to wrap yourself up in the worst of things" He murmured watching her face change as she saw the images in her eyes. "The one before the last....that was my aunt and my father.." Sebastian frowned, "But the last....I didn't recognise" He said softly watching her blink he squinted then recoiled almost falling off the seat in shock.
"Krys..."He said urgently, watching the stone change to bright red. His eyes widened in alarm, a cruel expression washing over her features. She stopped and Sebastian shook her gently.
"Krys!" He watched her get up and groaned, "This is exactly why I didn't want to tell you" He rolled his eyes and got up, "I don't know....why?"

She frowned slightly. Sebastian hadn't recognised the woman wearng the pendant, so it couldn't have been his Mother. She smiled awkwardly.
"It doesn't matter." she said dismissively. Maybe it hadn't been Kyla in the vision. The women in her family all looked so alike. She herself had often been mistaken for her Mother. The image could have been from years ago.
She sighed and walked over to him, taking his hand.
"Sebastian the people who owned these artefacts have done terrible things. But I have this one now. It's time history took a turn." she told him, fingering the pendant with a smile. It was warming to her and she was already attached to it. It felt like a friend.
She led him back to the bench and sat down, pulling him with her.
"Tell me the other stories you know." she prompted gently. She liked listening to him and she wanted to see if there was a pattern to any of it.

Sebastian frowned, "Not all...I think they all have their own special attribute. The way you use it...it's like they help you with...urgh..I don't know. My mother's ring hasn't done anything to her...but my great aunt's got her hearing back. You see....the artefacts just...help" He shrugged, "Trust you to say that" He said rolling his eyes, but he couldn't help but smile as they sat down, "Well...my eldest cousin Jayla got the headpiece when she got married. " Sebastian frowned, his mind reeling. "And the spell...." He sat back in the bench knawing at the thought.

"You see...the way the inheritance was sorted out.....was extremely mysterious" He said turning to her, "Basically the items were set out on the table and one of my father's friends, a goblin named....."Sebastian paused trying to remember, "Hedglin? Something like that, just said, take whatever draws you to it. Every family basically took whatever was nearest to them" Sebastian chewed his cheek thinking. "You see at that time, there were three sons and two daughters all married into other pureblood families. Jayla descends from one daughter, my grandfather was one of the sons. I think....the pendant was given to my mother once my uncle died.....the ring was already in my family. So...the ring was ours, the Diem's had the pendant, the bracelet was with the other side of Morter's and the earrings were with my aunt's family. She's from the other daughter. That means..." Sebastian was confusing himself he tried to recall Jayla's wedding again, trying to piece the clues together. Suddenly, he all the very curious. Ofcourse he'd always thought about it....but somehow it all made much more sense now.
"Jayla wasn't never pretty...I remember her telling my mother that anything she did with her hair..just fell out. She had unruly, thick black hair. But that day...she just looked stunning" Sebastian recalled thoughtfully, "I think..." He stopped himself, it was ridiculous, it sounded like a genie type thing rub it three times and you get a wish. But it fit

She listened intently, smiling as his memory faltered and resting an encouraging hand on his knee. When he'd finished she rested her head on his shoulder and played the pendant between her fingers.
"It does sound like the items themselves are neutral in power. It's the person who uses them that determines what they do." she agreed. She thought silently for a few seconds. "I think they're psychic stones of some kind. They attach themselves to whoever wears them, get to know them. The powers they provide seem to be very personal to the wearer."
She looked down at the stone arond her neck.
"I wonder what it will do for me." she said. There was no telling. She couldn't think of anything she desperately needed help with. "I suppose it will reveal itself in time." she added, letting it fall from her fingers and rest against her skin once more.
She looked at Sebastian and smiled, touching his face with the tips of her fingers before leaning in to kiss him softly.
"Thank you."

Sebastian sighed, her explanation simple compared to his own drawn out version.
"I 'spose" He said softly, but he had a feeling every item could only do so much, and in terms of magic had it's own field of expertise. Sebastian paused thoughtfully, it was true. Triple-core she didn't really need help with anything.
"You know I've only heard one story about the pendant" He said quietly. Distracted totally by her fingers he kissed her shaking head at the word of thanks.
"No. Thank-you"

She smiled happily and snuggled against him.
"It might help with my work...you know helping people." she said hopefully. "Maybe it will help me with Kelly." she suggested dryly. She giggled suddenly. "Maybe it'll make her listen to me and stop firing unforgiveables at me." she laughed then suddenly opened her mouth in horror, shutting her eyes tight. "oops." she muttered. She hadn't told Sebastian about the Cruciatus curse yet. She hadn't wanted to ruin the moment. She chewed her bottom lip waiting for the inevitable onslaught of questions.

Sebastian smirked wrapping his arms around her, instantaneously hit with the smell of her hair. He breathed it in, pulling her towards his chest listening.
He frowned intently, as she went startled by her giggle.
Unforgiveables? Sebastian froze and looked straight at her, "Krys...what exactly are you talking about?" He asked sternly, he knew exactly what she was talking about and at the precise moment he wanted to curse Kelly and her blasted spell into the next century.

Krysta cringed. She'd been hiding her pain for hours but she released it, letting her sides ache and her gut clench uncomfortably.
"I'm sorry I didn't tell you yet. I was going to, I just didn't want to ruin everything. I swear I was going to tell you." she pleaded, hoping he wasn't angry with her.
"You remember when that Patronus came into the pub and made that comment about me and Danika?" she asked. "Well obviously Kelly sent it. Caeleb told her about what happened between us and I was a bit drunk, so I went out into the street to give him what for. I threw him against a wall without hassle, but when I tried to explain everything to Kelly she turned on me. Hit me with cruciatus. It was my own fault, I should have seen it coming and blocked it." she explained, annoyed with herself.

Sebastian reflexively tightened his grip on her his anger threatening to bubble over.
"Krys.." He sighed, releasing her. "Kelly hit you with a unforgivable" He said steely. He clenched his jaw. trying to prevent himself from going over to Kelly and giving her her own medicine. Sebastian sighed, "Why didn't you tell me?" He asked her almost pleading. He needed a distraction, or the next moment he would be cursing Kelly into the next dimension.

"I told you, I didn't want to ruin our night. I was going to tell you later. Now it's ruined anyway." she said bitterly, angry with herself. "I could have cursed her to hell and back but I didn't. It's not worth it. I wasn't about to stoop to her level. She's seriously messed up, Sebastian." she said in frustration. "I've given her all the energy I'm willing to, she's The Order's problem now. I wash my hands of it." she said angrily. She'd promised herself she wouldn't waste her anger on the matter, but she couldn't help it.

She was angry the evening had been ruined. They'd been having such a wonderful night.
"Well if that's what you get for trying to help people, then maybe I'm not the girl for this job afterall." she said, her speech getting faster and faster as her true worries came out."I can't do this, Sebastian. I'm obviously not cut out for it if I can't even save my own friend from herself!"
She got up angrily and strode around the Pagoda wringing her hands together.
"I just...I'm just a kid! I don't know what I'm doing and there's no one to teach me. I can't do this!" she stopped and ground her teeth together, staring out at the pond. She shook her head silently. Finally she walked back to the bench and sunk back down onto it, staring into space.
"I should have seen that curse coming." she said quietly. "I should have been able to block it." she added, shaking her head again.

Sebastian cursed inwardly, "You didn't think this had any precedence? The fact that she used an unforgivable on you? That doesnt have priority?" He shook his head and backed down.
"Krys...don't get worked up over this. One person is enough. Kelly needs her friends.....but she's putting everyone away... even I can see that" He said softly, knowing the anger emanating off her was due to the evening. He would make it up to her, he promised himself that.
Sebastian listened to her, frowning unknowing and unable to stop her rambling. She sat back down next to him and he pulled her feet over his legs placing her on top of him.
"Dont...do this to yourself. This job...you'll grow into. You don't have your mother right here to help you.....but Krys I know you can do it. I know you. I love you, and the you I love can do this.

"I said I was sorry." she pleaded miserably. She let him pull her back onto his lap and she draped her arm over the back of his shoulders. She listened to him trying to reassure her and thought about what he was saying. Some of the things he said did make sense and she could feel his belief in her. And if Sebastian believed in her, well then that's all that really mattered.
Finally she smiled weakly. She looked at him and spoke softly.
"You really believe that don't you?" she asked. "Thank you."
She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him gently before nuzzing her face into the crook of his neck. He made her feel better. He made her feel like she wasn't alone

Sighing, Seb smiled weakly kissing her cheek tenderly. Whispering in her ear, "I should be sorry....I didn't mean to blow up like that"
He watched her reasoning to his argument and smiled turning her face to his, kissing her lips trying to relax himself from the thought of tearing Kelly to pieces, no matter what problems she was having.
He nodded sighing having gotten through to her, "Don't thank me yet........you haven't finished the job" He said cheekily.
He felt the warmth of her face against his neek and wrapped his arms around her waist in a tight hold.
