Aidan heard Alycya's disgusted snort, and suddenly remembered that the head girl was muggleborn herself. He felt a hot wave of embarassment wash over him, even though he hadn't actually said anything himself. He'd thought it though - but it hadn't seemed to apply to anyone he knew. Well, Alycya wasn't exactly a muggle herself, but obviously her parents must be.
He frowned. He really hadn't considered it like this before. But - well, now he was, it seemed kind of stupid. After all, magic had to start somewhere, and since it was far more common for muggles to produce a child with magic, than for wizards for produce a squib, presumably at one time all wizards had been muggleborn...
It all seemed so stupid, suddenly. In fact, when you thought about it, maybe it was muggles who were the smart ones - they didn't have magic to get things done, so they had to invent ways to do them.
He glanced at Alycya, giving her an apologetic smile.

Alycya saw Aidan turn his head towards her, and she looked up to him. When he smiled, she could see the apology in it, even though he hadn't said anything. She just shrugged. It wasn't his fault. Some people were just NEVER going to get over the whole Muggle thing.
Really, she admired her parents and their kind more than the wizarding kind anyway. She couldn't remember how she'd ever gone without magic.

Aidan saw Alycya shrug, but realised that the comments had hurt her. One of the things he'd do as head boy, he suddenly decided, was make that kind of thing unacceptable. Suddenly remembering his interview with the headmistress, he scribbled a note on the top of his parchment, and tilted it so that Alycya would see it. Headmistress wants to meet with us later. |

Alycya looked back over to Aidan as she saw him scribbling something onto a piece of parchment. She nodded to the note, then began writing something down herself. Later? Like after class? When? |

Aidan shrugged, and glanced towards the Professor, hoping their communication was unobserved. It wouldn't do for the Head Boy and Girl to be caught passing notes! Amused by this idea, he grinned at Alycya. Quickly he wrote back, Dunno. She didn't say. Maybe after last lesson today? |

Alycya glanced up at the Professor as well. She returned Aidan's grin with a smile of her own. Looking at his sheet, she nodded, and gave him a slight shrug of her shoulders.
So, meet at her office then? At the end of the day?

Kyala smiled at the class. "Alright, class, that's the end this session. Your homework," she tapped a stack of papers and one landed on each desk. "Will be due next lesson. Class dismissed."
