Juliette walked into the courtroom and sighed, her head bowed. Why did people do things like this? Miss Peverell. Kildara Snape's ward. You'd think she'd be up for more than this. But no, but why?
She sat at her place, putting her files in front of her, adjusting her robes. This was going to be a long day. One, she was not going to enjoy.

Sara walked into the courtroom, and stopped in the doorway. She felt a shiver down her spine, and past events, 22 years before, shot past her vision. She was sitting right up the back of the stands, looking down to a very good looking dark haired man, sitting on that exact chair. She let out a sigh as she remembered the horror, watching her once lover being carted off to Azkaban, while she was supposedly on the run.
She recovered herself. Watching Rabastan being taken away would never leave her. Never. But, she didn't expect it to affect her like that. Seeing Juliette, she walked up to the seat beside the Minister.
"Minister," she greeted, sitting beside her in the seat allocated for her.

Juliette looked up as someone said her name. When she recognised Sara, she smiled. "Headmistress," she responded. "What a horrid day," she commented. The room began to fill up with the Wizengamot and spectators, all here to see the trials. Juliette sighed. She was just about to say something else to Sara, when the guards announced the entry of the one on trial.
"Miss.Danika Jezabel Peverell. Charged with Death Eater sympathies, murder, torture and treason."

Kelly looked up as she heard two women speak. Apparently one of them was the new head mistress. The woman looked fragile and soft. Whatever Kildara was, Kelly had admired her on some level and this feeble creature was nothing compared to her. Her eyes turned back down as Dani's name was announced. She couldn't get her eyes away from her as she walked into the courtroom. To Kelly she looked as beautiful as ever. Just as beautiful as she had a year back in the forbidden forest. She couldn't believe it had just been a year, it seemed like decades. Who could've known back then that things would lead to this. Even worse, she might join Dani at Azkaban after a while. She winced at the thought. It had taken a lot to persuade the Ministry that she had nothing to do with the disappearances and the death of professor Walker. She would've never thought those idiots would believe her, but they had. Probably mostly because it was her word against a werewolf's and everybody thought professor Pettigrw was insane. She gazed into Dani's eyes and a smile faded from her lips. Nothing would save her anymore.

[Danika Peverell]

Danika heard her name and took a few breaths before the guards took her arms and lead her out into the jeering courtroom. This wasn't cool. She'd technically done nothing wrong. But, because of the Mark on her arm, she was apparently a criminal. Looking into the crowd, her eyes fell on an excrutiatingly familiar face. Kelly. She gasped softly, and her eyes never left Kelly's, even as the guards roughly chained her arms to the chair. She didn't even look up to the Minister as she began to speak.
Kelly was here. Come to see her demise. Come to snipe probably. The fact that Danika was going to Azkaban and she wasn't was probably massive for her. Stop that! She scolded herself. That wasn't nice to think that way of her former girlfriend. The only girl she'd ever loved. The only person she'd loved. Jeez. The bloody mess they'd all gotten themselves into. It had ruined all of their lives.

[Kelly Black]

Kelly clutched the barrier between her and Danika. The horrid pain in her eyes slashed through her heart like poison. She wanted to run to her, say it's gonna be alright, that they can go far away together. Her eyes swelled with tears. She leaned slightly forward. She wanted to be as close to Dani as she possibly could. She felt completely hollow inside. Tears were running down her cheeks. Her hands were turning white because of the strong grip she had on the barrier. Her thoughts were racing, trying to find something to say to take the blame and have the love of her life walk free, but she could think of nothing. She didn't want to lose her, but it was inevitable. She just wanted Dani to see, that she'll always be there for her. That she'll always love her. Always.

[Krysta Hedwig]

Krysta sat right at the back of the courtroom, hidden by the shadows. She was cloaked completely both physically and emotionally. She stared at the back of Kelly's head with a solemn frown on her pale face. The girl had guts to show her face, she had to give her that. But Kelly had escaped all prosecution. She'd killed more people than any of the Death Eaters on trial and she hadn't even been arrested. She was too smart. She'd covered her tracks far too well.
As the doors opened and Danika was led into the room Krys sat up straighter. The girl looked like hell. She seemed to shy away from the crowds as they jeered at her. Krys scowled again. The swell of emotions coming from both Kelly an Dani were almost suffocating. She strengthened her shield. She didn't want to feel it.
She watched Dani as she was led to the interrogation chair and was strapped in. She couldn't believe she was the same girl who had been her friend and just once: her lover. The strange thing was, she could forgive Dani for her allegiance to Kildara. But for the murder of Sam? There was no forgiveness for that. Remaining completely motionless she waited for court proceedings to begin.

Juliette began to speak, asking Miss Peverell why she was here. But the girl wasn't looking a ther. She was looking at a girl in the audience, and they seemed to be having a ... moment? Oh dear lord!
"Miss Peverell, will you please look at me!" she ordered.
The purple headed girl seemed to painfully tear her eyes away from the other girl to look up at the podium.
"I'll start again. Miss Peverell, why do you think you are here?"

Kelly ripped her eyes from Danika as the minister began to speak. She glared at her in agony. How could they be so mean, Dani was so young. They just couldn't send her to Azkaban. Maybe it was against the law? Maybe they weren't allowed to sentence someone of that age to death. There had to be something she could do, Kelly thought to herself. She took all her courage and addressed the minister. "Minister, what are the accusations towards Dani.. I mean, miss Peverell?" Her tortured eyes were locked in the ministers, ready to react as soon as she spoke.

Danika didn't hear the Minister at first, her gaze was firmly fixed on Kelly. She didn't want to look away, just in case she disappeared. Then, she heard the slight annoyance in the woman's voice and she tore her eyes painfully from her ex-girlfriend's to face the Minister.
"Because I'm a Death Eater and I killed a whole lot of people. Am I right?" she said, trying to put some strength into her voice so it sounded as snipy as she intended it. She doubted it sounded that way. Her eyes closed, and she sighed softly as she heard Kelly speak.

As Miss Peverell spoke, Juliette sighed softly. The girl was giving in. She was about to answer the girl, when Danika's friend spoke up. She sighed again, turning her eyes on the other girl.
"Death Eater allegiances, treason, torture and murder, most notably her murder of Sam Hearn, a fellow student of her I hear. Answer your question, MIss..." she asked, leaving room for the girl to fill in her name.
Turning her attention back to Miss Peverell, she smiled. "Thank you, Miss Peverell, for confirming our accusations."

Krysta watched the back of Kelly's head with a thoughtful frown. What was she playing at? She'd have thought the last thing she'd want to do was draw attention to herself. And the charges laid at Danika's door were pretty clear. Maybe Kelly's motive was to let Dani know she was there and on her side. But Dani now hung her head in shame as she heard outloud the charges and it hit home what she had done. She was a picture of regret and remorse. Krys shook her head slowly, her heart clenching as she heard Sam's name.
"How could you?" she whispered, her voice inaudible to all except herself. As much love and affection she felt for Danika she couldn't reconcile herself with this one, terrible atrocity.

Kelly's heart stopped as she heard the accusations. They had found out about everything. Her eyes jumped quickly to Dani's and then back to the ministers. She shook her head gently, thinking darling, why didn't you try to cover your tracks. She kept eye contact with the minister. When she asked her name she replied "Miss Black. I was on trial a ccouple of days ago, but you didn't have any evidence against me. Do you have anything to actually back up your accusations against miss Peverell? Even though she agreed with everything you said, she might just be put under pressure." Her voice sounded confident and maybe a little bit too threatening, even though she didn't mean for it to sound that bad.

Juliette's right eyebrow rose as Miss Black threatened her. "Miss Black!" she scolded. "Would you keep yourself in check, please?" She turned back to Miss Peverell. "You have been accused for Treason, Murder, Torture and Death Eater Sympathies. How do you plead?" she asked.

Danika sighed, looking up to Kelly before she answered. "I love you" she mouthed, before turning her face back to the Minister. "Guilty, your Honour."

"Now we will vote. All in favour of conviction." She turned to watch the hands raise. Every hand was up. She sighed.

"Miss Peverell, you have been convicted of all the beforesaid crimes and are therefore sentenced to 15 years incarceration in Azkaban Prison. This court is closed." She banged her little hammer down on the desk and stood up, leaving with the rest of the Wizengamot.
