Caeleb pulled on his collar, straightening the cuffs and making sure for the thousandth time that his shirt was buttoned up right.
"Nervous?" asked a cool, ethereal voice. He shook his head, refusing to look at his Father.
"Nervous? I still can't believe you came." he replied in an almost scathing manner.
"My son is getting married." Hugo replied as though that was reason enough. Caeleb finally looked up at him. His Father's long hair was groomed neatly back out of his pale skin. He was ridiculously good looking, even with the dark circles under his eyes.
"Yeah. You couldn't miss the opportunity to out-swagger your own son at his Wedding." he said in a mildly sarcastic tone. Hugo's red eyes sparkled with bemusement.
"Ah son, do you think so little of my motives?" he asked, his tone so smooth it felt like silk on the ear drums. Caeleb ignored the question. "How is your Mother?" Hugo asked casually. Caeleb snorted, shaking his head.
"How would I know?" he asked bitterly. Hugo watched his son's angry face for a few moments, but remained silent.
"So...this...'Kildara'...she is your teacher?" he asked. Caeleb pursed his lips together as he tried to control his temper.
"My boss actually." he corrected.
"Of course." Hugo replied, barely concealing the patronizing intent of his words.
"You know who she is, Father." Caeleb said in a low tone. Hugo watched him again appraisingly. Finally he nodded.
"Indeed." he finally replied. It was apparent that Hugo knew exactly who Dara was. He looked over at the Ministry official who was standing several feet away shooting furtive, worried glances towards the vampire. Hugo send him a toothy smile. The Ministry Official whimpered.

Kildara and Charli walked out of the castle and down to the forest, chattering away like usual, though it all had a nervous edge to it.
"I can't believe you're getting married for love," Charli commented. "You, of all people!"
"I know!" Kildara replied. "But I want to. So bad it's almost like i need to."
Charli gave her friend a smile. The baby of the group beat them all to the post. They walked through the trees until they heard voices. They stopped, and Charli gave her friend a once over, making sure everything was perfect. It was. As usual. The two women embraced, then continued walking, out into the clearing, where the men were standing. Kildara chewed her lip. She could feel Charli's hand on her back. She'd never been so nervous in her life.
She gave Caeleb a smile. A bright, happy smile. Then her eyes flicked to the man standing beside him. She directed her gaze to him, and gave him the smallest of smiles, still walking to Caeleb.
"You look nice," she murmured.

Hugo suddenly smiled and looked over Caeleb's shoulder.
"Showtime." he murmured. Caeleb turned around and his heart stopped. An angel...his Angel was walking towards him through the trees. Her eyes flickered briefly to Hugo and then locked with his own.
"Remember to breathe." Hugo whispered and Caeleb released the deep breath he'd taken and forgotten to release. Trust a Vampire to notice the breathing. When she spoke his heart thudded hard in his chest. He just about heard his Father's snicker. He most definitely would have heard that.
"You look...beautiful." he managed to respond. He gave Charli a small smile. He didn't really know her, except from Meetings.
"Dara, I'd like you meet my Father. Hugo Dracus." he said formally. Hugo's face broke into a charming smile.
"Nice to eventually meet you Miss Snape. I have heard many great things about you...from very reliable sources." he said with a knowing look. Oh yes. Very reliable.

Kildara's face brightened as he called her beautiful. Her eyes widened as he introduced the other man. "You're - you're father," she muttered. She turned to face Hugo, and gave him a smile. At his words, she bit her lip, then recomposed herself.
"Well, it's lovely to meet you," she replied, trying to keep herself calm. Her nerves were off the chart! Her heart was racing. HS eloved him, and she could finally let the world know.
Turning back to Caeleb, her dark curls fell over her shoulder.
"Ready?" she asked him, giving him a bright, but soft smile, portraying her love for him in one glance.

Caeleb gave his Father a warning look. This was not the time to bring up Voldemort. He smiled nervously at Dara's astonishment.
"Yes. Father. Even though in a few years he'll actually look younger than me." he explained vaguely. He smiled apologetically. He should have prepared her for this, but a big part of him had never expected him to turn up. As it happened, Hugo took it out of his hands.
"What my son is trying to explain, what he has obviously neglected to tell you, is that I am a vampire." he explained calmly with another charming smile.
Behind them, the Ministry official released a tiny yelp.
Caeleb closed his eyes and then looked at Dara with a look so full of apology. Finally he sighed.
"I am ready. You?" he replied.

Kildara began chewing her lip again as Caeleb spoke about his father. That didn't make any sense! It just confused her. Then, Hugo spoke.
Kildara's ice eyes widened. "Oh," she breathed. She heard the Ministry official make a scared noise and she sighed. She took a few deep breaths, then turned back to Caeleb, smiling as he said he was ready. She nodded.
"Yes, I've never been more ready for anything in my life," she admitted, knowing how corny it sounded. She didn't care. She was marrying the man of her dreams, she didn't care about anything else. She nodded to the officiator, and he trembled for a moment, at which Kildara impatiently rolled her eyes.

Then, the officiator started the small, modified ceremony. Kildara almost choked as the officiator said the 'til Death do us part' bit, knowing that would far too soon. She smiled as she said,

"I do."

Caeleb took both her hands and looked to the Officiator. Charli and his Father fell in behind them to witness the ceremony and the Officiator shuffled uncomfortably. He took a deep breath as, before he knew it, the Officiator began the ceremony. He was shaking with happiness. His was light. He was barely aware of what the Officiator was saying and before he knew it, Dara was saying "I do."

He gazed at her, his heart straining against his chest, overwhelmed with his love for her. She'd bound herself to him.
He turned to the Officiator as the man addressed him and he listened to the promises, the vows and the dedication he was more than ready to accept. And finally as his turn came he turned to Dara and looked right into her eyes.
"I do."


He didn't hear anything else. The clapping and cheers coming from his Father and Charli diminished to still silence. All he knew was his lips on Dara's. His wife.

As Caeleb looked at her, she gave him a smile. Then he said 'I do,' and her heart fluttered dangerously fast. She could hear Charli and Caeleb's father clapping, and Charli's cheers of glee for her friend, but only for a moment. She was lost in Caeleb's gaze. Her husband's gaze. She smiled, adn kissed him back. Their hands were still clasped, and she pulled hers from his to cup his face, still kissing him. She'd never been so happy in her life. She never wanted to let go. She never had to.

Finally the marital kiss ended and he smiled broadly and happily, almost laughing with joy. He suddenly became aware of the guests watching them with huge grins of their faces. He slid his arm around Dara' waist and turned to face the guests. His Father's face was mixture of amusement and what was unmistakably pride. Hugo winked at him and Caeleb laughed.
Behind them the Ministry Official coughed quietly.
"Right well if you don't need me anymore..." he muttered. Caeleb ignored him as he hurried off into the trees to find the edge of Hogwarts land so he could apparate.
He was looking at Dara again. Gazing at her.
"I can't believe you actually married me." he murmured softly, leaning his face forward to kiss her cheek.

Kildara mirrored Caeleb's smile, and turned as he did, his arm around her waist. Charli looked like she was about to cry. So was Dara. Charli looked so happy for her baby sister it was ridiculous. Kildara gave her a look, and the tears finally began to fall. Before Dara could go and comfort her friend, she looked up at Caeleb, to see him looking down at her. She smiled as he kissed her cheek.
"Why wouldn't I? I love you so much, and now, I'm yours forever," she replied, leaning up to kiss his cheek. She gave him another smile, before leaving his embrace to hug her sobbing friend.
"Congratulations," Charli choked through her tears. That sent Kildara off. Tears began falling from her eyes.
"Thanks," she replied, her arms still wrapped around her friend.

Caeleb smiled as dara flung herself into Charli's arms and the two women began sobbing with happinness. He looked at his Father with a mildly awkward smile. Hugo just laughted haughtily and gave his son a manly hug and a clap on the back.
"Congratulations kid." he bellowed his his smooth, booming voice. Caeleb was a little taken aback.
"Steady, Dad. My body's human, remember." he gasped. The hug was a little crushing. Hugo just roared with laughter again. Then he turned t the two delirious women and took one of Dara's hands inbetween his cold ones.
"Kildara is is an absolutel pleasure to have you in the family. My son had good taste." he declared. "Now you must forgive me. I cannot stay. The Ministry will have undubtedly heard that there's vampire on Hogwarts grounds by now." he announced looking rather amused by the whole thing. He gave Caeleb one last Fatherly pat on the back, bowed politely to the women and disappeared into the trees so fast you could hear the 'swish' of air being disturbed.

Kildara and Charli's shoulders were soaked with each other's tears, when finally, they looked up at each other. They grinned. Kildara gasped softly as Hugo took one of her hands. His were freezing! She smiled. "Thank you," she replied, biting her lip slightly. He made her slightly uncomfortable. She didn't particularly know why. Maybe because of what he had said before, about him having heard about her.
She nodded, and watched him leave. Jeez! She turned back to Charli, who gave her friend a last hug. "Congratulations darling," she murmured. She smiled, and turned to Caeleb.
"Now, you take care of her, you hear," she said big sisterly, but all jest. Kildara didn't need looking after!
Then, she left, walking back through the trees, leaving the newly weds alone.
Kildara smiled, turning to face her husband. She bit her lip softly, then grinned, jumping at him, throwing her arms around his neck, and her legs around his hips. "We're married!" she exclaimed happily.
