The Lake

Anastasia walked down to the lake slowly and let the cold wind rush over her shin. She knew being outside would be a stupid place to be when it was cold but she didn't care. She wanted to be alone and this was the only place she could do that. Sitting down in front of the lake she let out a sigh. She liked the quiet outside and for the first time back at Hogwarts she was happy.

Alex headed down to the lake with her fists clentched tighter than she thought they could possibly go, how the hell was it that she wasn't Prefect? All that work she did through the past few years was apparently for nothing, then again she wasn't exactly the role model that the younger students wanted to look up to, what with her anger issues and the fact that she had absolutely no respect for authority figures.

She stared out at the lake, not even moving an inch while she attempted to calm down but that was going to be a miracle.

Janie walked out of the castle, wanting some fresh air. She'd been cooped up in that place since she'd got back, doing catch up work and prefect duties. Making her way over to the Lake, she stopped as she spotted Alexandria. They'd been sort of friends once upon a time. Word in halls was that she was the biggest b***h of the school at the moment. And, the blonde girl hadn't made it a secret she had wanted Prefect...

Alex stopped her train of thoughts when she heard someone walking, evidently people didn't learn not to be near Alexandria Carter when she was not in a good mood, well she'd teach them all why they should avoid her. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed Janie and her mood immediately went from bad to worse.. that b***h stole her Prefect badge and rank..

"Well well well..what do we have here, oh if it isn't Miss Slytherin Prefect who doesn't deserve it." she growled, shoving her hands into her pockets to grab her wand just in case she needed it.

Janie sighed as Alexandria spoke to her. "Oh get of it, Carter," she shrugged. "And who said you deserve it? What happened to you? You used to be so nice. Though, I guess a lot can happen in a couple years."

Alex chuckled slightly when Janie told her she used to be nice, ah nice people were always the ones who were killed first by people like her. "If you ask any of the professors, they'll tell you who should be Prefect, Lucas." she commented then took out her wand and twirled it between her fingers. "I changed, I became better, the old Alexandria is dead.. after the past few years I realized that only people like me can truly have any power in this school."

Janie chuckled. "Uh huh... right," she murmured at Alexandria's little speech about people like her. She shrugged her shoulders, then inpected the nails of her left hand. Her nail polish was chipped and needed to be redone. Her nails weren't long, but really long nails only got in the way.
"You know... maybe it's a really good thing you didn't get Prefect... your head's big enough... you may not have fitted through the door..."

Alex crossed her arms over her chest to avoid punching Janie in the face, that wasn't worth it even though it would feel good. "Say that again and you'll get a one way trip to St. Mungo's in a coma." she commented, keeping her wand at the ready so that she was able to hex this sorry excuse for a Slytherin quickly. Honestly, the staff must have been confunded when they made little miss princess a Prefect..

Janie shrugged as Alex threatened her. What did the girl think she'd been doing while she wasn't at school... sitting round and doing nothing? Didn't the girl remember who her parents were? "You know, Alex, things ahve changed. That old almighty Slytherin mentality is over. Thought you would have realised that when you came back this year and noticed there was NO slytherrins left... they're all in Azkaban or gone home. Careful what you say, what you do... or you'll be getting a one way trip home... or maybe worse..." She gave the other girl a sympathetic look. "I pity you. Really I do."

Alex felt like toeing the line, seeing how far she could take this, but she wasn't going to give Janie the satisfaction, no that would be too easy. She pocketed her wand and put her hands down at her sides, so that she would resist doing anything stupid. "I don't need your pity, I already pity myself enough." she said with a slight shrug and she kicked the ground beneath her feet.

Janie nodded. "Okay then," she murured, trying not to laugh. It really wasn't ood to pity yourself. Man! Her housemate really thought a lot of herself didn't she! The up-herself-ness even went so far as pitying herself! "Well I guess I'll be on my way... seeing as I've obviously made your day."

Alex scowled when she noticed Janie trying not to laugh at what she said, it was really hard not to want to hex the girl into next week, but there was no controlling her when she was frustrated. With one raised fist, she punched the pathetic Slytherin Prefect in the face then smirked and brushed the blonde hair from her face. "So much for trying to even re-patch our friendship." she commented with her fists down at her sides.

Janie gasped as the other girl's fist collided with her nose. She heard a definite crack. "b***h," she sighed, a hand up to her nose. Her otherr hand reached for her wand, which she pointed at her nose, murmured a spell. Her nose cracked back into place and healed. It wasn't as straight as before... but it wasn't too bad. She'd get the nurse to fix it later on. "You were the one that f**ked that possibility up, not me," she shot back. "Not like you wanted to anyway, obviously."

Alex chuckled, that was definitely all worth it although her hand was hurting a bit now, she shoved her hands back into her pockets so that she was tempted to hit the girl again. "Evidently your memory is quite screwed up, if I remember correctly, it was you who f**ked up our friendship." she said with a slight roll of her eyes.
