Transfiguration Lesson 3

[Caeleb Dracus]

Caeleb smiled happily when Nathalie said he could call her Nat. He hesitated when she asked if he has ever done any animagus transformation beforw. He thought about playing innocent and claiming he hadn't, but there was always the risk of Krystra or Danika giving him away. He chose honesty instead...well...sort of.
"Actually..." he murmured, leaning close to her to speak quietly into her ear. "I can transmogrify. My animagus is a snake. But I'm not registered so I keep it a secret." he whispered. "Don't tell anyone." he added looking pleadingly at her. "My ex girlfriend knows and I think Danika knows, but no one else does."

Just then Angel came in and he looked up with a smile as Angel sat near them.
"Hi Angel. How are you?" he asked. He recognised her from Care of Magical Creatures and knew she was friendly with the "goody-two-shoes" clan. But she seemed harmless enough.

"Hey Caeleb," Angel said grinning at the sight of him sitting next to Nat. "I'm pretty good thanks. Excited for the ball, slightly nervous but it should be pretty good." She knew that in the eyes of at least three other people in the room, Caeleb was bad news, but if he was taking her friend, she could at least be nice to him. "How are you?"

"I'm particularly good, thank you. Since a certain lady asked me to the Ball." he said, taking Nat's hand and kissing it lightly. "I was certain it was going to be tedious and boring, but now it's prospects are certainly looking up." he said, smiling at Nat warmly. "Which lucky bloke's taking you to the Ball, Angel? I hope he's a respectable sort." he asked with a slight grin.

Angel looked at Nat and winked. Good for her, at least the girl had the courage to ask a guy, whereas she personally didn't. "Well I can tell you that her dress is amazingly gorgeous," she said knowingly. Thinking for a moment, she was careful not to get too off track in her thoughts of Aidan she smiled. "Well it depends who's standards we're going by. Personally I think Aidan Fischer's pretty respectable." And extremely good looking! "It should be a really good night."
