Serena looked up at the clock then back at the students, "Alright everyone, take your seats and stop the chatter" she said and stood up, she picked up an old book with a hole in the middle from the desk. "Today we're talking about how to identify dark, magical items" she lifted the book in her hand. "This diary, a very dangerous history for not only the people invloved, but for this very school. Miss Ginny Weasley was given it by Lucius Malfoy. It was used in the opening of the chamber of secerts" she explained, "who can tell me what it is and who it belonged to?" Nathalie jumped slightly when Professor Black mentioned that name. She hoped she wasn't blushing. So far, she'd managed not to let anyone know how she felt. It had started when she was 13, but now, at 16, she was starting to think it was time she grew out of it... Bella smiled as she earned two points for Ravenclaw and then thought about the next two questions. "Didn't he use the fang from the basilisk that he had killed after it had bitten him?" There was a rumour that if you could get the chamber to open the remains of the snake would still be there, but she wasn't entirely sure whether she wanted to be the one to find out. "If you wrote in the diary, the diary would write back to you. That was how it was able to posess Ginny Weasley. She had written all her heart out in the diary and since Tom's soul seemed kind and caring, Ginny trusted it and allowed it to posess her and control her actions." Nathalie listened to Bella's explanation of how the diary worked, then raised her hand. "It fed off her emotions. And the stronger the - the fragment of soul got, the weaker Ginny got."

"Very good Miss Peters" Serena nodded, "Basilisk venom is one of the few things that can destory a Horcrux" she explained, "yes. Ginny trusted the diary, she believed someone was finally caring about her but in truth it was trying to control her. Never trust anything that can think for itself, if you can't see where it keeps its brain" she quoted Mr Weasley. Nathalie listened to Bella's explanation of how the diary worked, then raised her hand. "It fed off her emotions. And the stronger the - the fragment of soul got, the weaker Ginny got." "Very good Miss Desjardins. The diary was basically sucking the life from Ginny. If Harry hadn't destoried the diary Voldemort would have sucked all the life from her and he would have been reborn earlier" she added. "Who can tell me what other things can destory a horcrux?"

Krysta tore her eyes away from Sebastian and stared at the front of the class. The topic of discussion was making her uncomfortable. She couldn't believe they were discussing horcruxes. It had taken it off the curriculum for a reason. She squinted into space. "Only items of great power can destroy a horcrux. Although they are normal objects the soul inside makes them almost indestructable. Harry Potter used the Sword of Godric Gryffindor to destroy some of Voldemort's other horcruxes...the Hufflepuff Cup, Slytherin's locket. I believe Albus Dumbledore used it to destroy Marvolo Gaunt's ring. The sword was goblin made and very powerful." she stopped speaking and looked at Professor Black. "Ravenclaw's Diadem was destroyed by fiendfyre in the Room of Requirement...there's not much fiendfyre can't destroy." she said with a raised eyebrow, an unpleasant memory flashing through her mind.
